What's the snipped part?
I'd be happy to oblige. You know, since this is a tell-all thread and everything.

SF, I apologise for my fellow NGers in your thread. This should not be a place for us to air our dirty linen. We have differences between our members, but we should not be letting this enter into this thread.

My questions

1. How has SF fared in the past several months since ROK left the bloc, do you find yourselves more united or are their cracks in the longstanding relationships?

2. If you could pick one leader from the entire history of BOB to lead SF as a coalition leader, who would you choose?

3. What are your opinions of the current Treaty Web? Have there been any treaties which SF as a whole have stood back and questioned?

4. Chicken or Beef?

5. Wine or Beer?

6. Are you for or against mergers of many micros to form larger alliances?

7. Pasta or Pizza?

8. McDonalds or KFC?

9. What is your opinion of the ultimate Triumverate for an alliance?

10. Do you agree that many people hold onto ancient history too much?
1. I'd say a lot more united. As much as I would have liked RoK to stay and for things to work out, it's been for the best in both our cases. RoK has moved onto an FA path they are comfortable with and we have maintained our synergy.

2. I honestly have NO idea.

3. It's very messy. Sure have been some treaties. CSN - GOONS for instance. But SF has come to terms with it and I think Sardonic and JT did a fine job of distinguishing themselves from old GOONS.

4. Steak.

5. Merlot

6. If two or more communities can come together to make things tighter and more efficient, by all means.

7. Pasta

8. Neither.

9. I'm not sure what you mean, is this a particular case? Or in general?

10. Sure do. It's nice to get rid of old grudges. Recently, we've had a lot of those chats. Over the years, most alliances change governments and even leadership, sometimes its good to put an old grudge to rest and move on to the flavor of the week center of esteemed hatred. But it's far too convenient to hold onto old grudges for some. For others, they just won't let it go because it's how they operate, they need that eye for an eye.

So is it fair to say that you don't agree with Xiph's grudge against TOP?

So was Rok always an issue in some capacity before Taut pulled away in the last war? I keep seeing posts saying you're more unified post-war, but I don't see how.

From an outside perspective, Rok, despite holding 50 million treaties, always seemed in sync with SF. Especially when Xiph was unofficially protecting Polar.

General questions:

1. In terms of survival for SF, do you see vertical growth (simply building up your current membership bases), horizontal growth (actively recruiting new members to the existing AAs or adding another AA to the bloc entirely), or a certain blend of the two as being the most likely course with which you'll have success with?

2. What does SF think about the speculation that many of the smaller Maroon alliances appear to be displeased with SF and actions some of its members have taken in recent months?

3. If you could be in an important IRC discussion/meeting and tell one person simply to $#^@ off, who would it be and why?

And because someone asked me to ask her some fun questions, these are primarily questions for Liz:

1. When's the next scheduled "Hey, let's annoy Deja" session?

2. What has been the most amusing part of being at the top of the ladder in CSN?

What's SF opinion, as a block and individually, about Polaris these days?

I'd like to each alliances answered this one please.

inb4 they all claim the Polar is a solid alliance and a good friend.

What goes around comes around and Xiphosis has made it very clear that forced disbandment should be considered a tool of war. When the inevitable war comes, if SF loses would it be a fair term to force the disbandment of all its members and to see its leaders forced to re-roll?

Since your personal convictions to it Xiphosis, I suppose you'd support this move?

If that does happen, for safety of your members will you re-roll to spare them?

Do you think its actually possible to avoid the backlash of public opinion, and the coming war SF is faced with.

I think if there were a way for Xiph and TOP to reach a consensus that would be best for all parties involved, especially with the way our allies and our own FA paths will eventually cross. Realistically is that going to happen? Not likely.

I can really only speak for the Taut on times as that was when I became most active with bloc politics, so I'll have to defer that to someone whose been around longer.

1. We've been working a lot on ourselves, getting that foundational ground set a bit better.
2. I think our maroon friends have worked out their ways of dealing with our decisions. TTK I think especially has found themselves in a good place. Between allies and friends now.
3. Well, having already done that once. I don't think there's any one particular person I'd care to do that with again. It's worth it to just avoid the situation entirely, that way you avoid the cesspool.

1. Anytime you want! Take him... far... far.. away. :P
2. Probably dealing with the guys who didn't want to be led by a younger female :P There's quite a few, who just on that sole reason alone like to pick arguments just for the sake of argument. The most rewarding part though is watching our newer members climb their way up the ladder. Torchwood is our MoIA and he was just a wee little noob months ago and he's present day minister and doing a damn fine job of it. Though we tease him to hell haha. Emperor Smith is another who has just been fantastic. Watched him go from deputy to as of a few days ago, our Minister of Defense. So that's really the best part of the job for me. I like when people are active and things begin to click about how things work and it just makes sense.

Do you see any similarity to the current political climate vs the days of tC/Pacifica in late 2007-mid 2008?

AKA alliances/blocs are used to gain power then discarded and rolled by a certain core once that position is achieved.

1. Probably vertically for the time being. We'll see moving forward.

2. There are a couple. I think it's fairly obvious who they are. It's not really an issue beyond the blatantly obvious.

3. I want to do this a lot. I think most people do in a lot of the major negotiations that go on. By definition, a negotiation happens when people want things that don't match up perfectly, or are at complete odds. Trying to make incompatible ideas fit together is incredibly frustrating, and I keep a query window open to someone I can complain at without making things more difficult. From what I've seen, this is fairly common.

Well since, you know, I asked if they see any similarity to what was happening in 2007-08, that it is indeed a question.

I could draw a number of parallels between the current climate and almost any point in CN's history. Ultimately, this is a political game, and people have a few styles of playing. Some of the more effective ones tend to keep cropping up and that leads to a great deal of repetition in what goes on. As a community, we've spent a lot more time refining how the game is played than we have changing it, and I think a lot of that is that if you aren't playing that game, you wind up losing to the people doing a better job of it.

We are in fact one of the most solid alliance/communities of this game and a good friend for those who deserve our friendship. I don't expect you to agree with the later, so let's not argue about it here.

Disagreeing and holding a grudge are two different things. It's not that Xiphosis disagrees with what they did in the past, he holds it as a grudge and actively makes it a very important part of his FA approach, hence cancelling on GOONS when MK signed with TOP.

An artful dodge. Way to not answer the question! The question was, by the way, not whether you think TOP and GOD could get along, but whether or not you agree with Xiphypoo's petty little grudge (especially considering your stated distaste for petty grudges).

I just want to say that in the current environment, putting this thread up took some real guts. Also my opinion of SF has improved slightly.

That is all.
