  1. The game's genius often lies in its utter simplicity.

Increased detail to infrastructure purchases would be possible, it would add an added dynamic to the game, but it would (perhaps unnecessarily) complicate gameplay which isn't necessarily good. To some extent, the game has excelled because its not excessively difficult to understand or to learn.

  2. I think that more places would use IP.Board (Invivsion v3) if it wasn't a forum you had to pay for. That said, a common overlook here is that Invision Power Services has hosting packages for $15 that come with the forum, and you can make a full website. (You might need to spend more if you get a lot of traffic.)

In addition: SMF also has multiple versions in use and I think it's unfair to split phpBB and not SMF. That said, IP.Board wasn't split either.

But that's my rant on how IPB should have won. Good work memoryproblems. I don't know how bored you had to be to do this but it was very intersting to see, so thank you.

As for IPB, that is true, although think about it like this, Between the domain and the web-hosting for for my alliance, Sanitarium's hosting, it comes out to about $75 a year for what I pay. 15$ a month for a year is $180, and you really don't have the same amount of freedom as you would if you were self-hosted.

I never thought about that with SMF, there is versions 1 and 2, but SMF is in the process of changing them over, I figured that I'd lump them together for the time being, had I not, SMF would have been a distant third to phpBB3 and IPB. AS for the lack of an IPB board split, to be honest, versions 2 and 3 look very similar, and because of security reasons, most people remove version information from the footer, which makes it very difficult to tell the difference.

While phpBB2 was great, but phpBB3... is just a piece of crap.

I thought the first thing when I tried the first beta of phpBB3 some three years ago, it was so different then phpBB2, but anymore Its grown on me and I absolutely love it.

  3. Its one thing if your not interested in a treaty if you don't think the two alliances are on the same page or have no similar interests, its another if your not interested because you hold a past grudge. The former is good foreign affairs, the latter is a dangerous mindset of retribution, and if thats the case, dig two graves.

    Interesting account none the less.

  4. The problem is, the majority of people thinking about starting their alliance have no idea what they are doing, and while it might make them happy and fulfilled, it might kill the interest of those who subscribe to their philosophies by becoming a member.

Good luck, creating an alliance is nothing short of a gynormous amount of work, and the pre DoE stuff is but the tip of the iceberg.

  5. The only ground that those against the mosque have to stand on is that its probably not a good idea to build it in that particular location, because of (perhaps false) perceptions on the religion.

But legally speaking, theres really not a lot that could be done to prevent it, so long as they own the land, are zoned correctly, and follow all the codes and regulations. Theres really no reason to prevent them, and about the only thing they could do is to pass a regulation stating that religious institutions can't be built within such a space between the WTC site, but that'd be pretty transparent as to purpose and it probably wouldn't fare well against legal challenges.

  6. How long until people stop complaining about Echelon leaving BLEU to enter 1V and cancelling their MADP with New Polar Order?

And I don't think anybody ever actually gives anybody a break. The saying is that the internet is forever, everbody around has great memories, so you might as well get comfortable and come up with some decent retorts for when the Knights of Ni card is used.

  7. Debate the legitimacy of the CB all day if you want, but don't debate them calling in allies. NSO was hitting peace mode mid day, plans had to change accordingly and they sought the help of allies who happened to have high IRC activity at the time to cover nations they could not an prevent them from jumping into peace mode. If it were not for that, there would be little more then Rok themselves involved in this war, as was originally planned.

That being said, carry on with the arguing and whatnot.

I look forward to seeing VE, GOD and RnR withdraw from this war when their current wars expire and RoK can take over those slots.

  8. Is it essential for a candidate to be born in the US? Or is it just sufficient that he be a citizen in good standing. From a constitutional viewpoint?

Apart from that, people [like the OP's boss] need to focus more on their own jobs than the middle names of politicians.

They must be a natural born citizen.

They've released a birth certificate, the state of Hawaii confirms that that they have a birth certificate in their records, despite all the evidence to the contrary, out-of-touch conservatives continue to spew filth claiming he was born elsewhere.

Really, its kinda sad that they are so upset over him being president that they have to spend their energy complaining about his citizenship status. If there was a shred of evidence that he was ineligible for the presidency, the cases filed in the matter would have gone somewhere, and instead of focusing on something pointless like that, perhaps they should focus on something useful, perhaps like helping improve the country? Just a thought, throwing that out there.

  9. A) theres a reason why anybody can create an alliance in cybernations, because alliances are not really a part of "the-game". Alliances were originally completely done outside of the game's mechanics, the only thing that has changed to date is the addition of an Alliance Affiliation field in game.

    B) Your list is humourous. I doubt you really know anything about half the alliances on that list, your list is alot less insightful then Corinan's list because at least he has the knowledge to be able to make such a list. Your list says that alliances that are 10x the alliance that yours is, that have unmatched dedication, loyalty, and ingenuity should disband. Your list reeks of your own political opinions, I find it pretty near-sighted, however I did get a pretty good laugh out of it.

    C) If you think theres two many alliances, do something about it, start a war, survival of the fittest, the alliances that deserve to live will come out, those who don't may disband. Only one way to see.

  10. you should have really put some research into Bastion (maybe actually have read the op of that thread) before you jumped to conclusions and assumed it was in the same foot-steps as the first one. While apparently a legitimate bloc, its a pretty fake and has no real provisions.

Edit: Moving teams isn't always being a tool. Many many alliances have moved from one team to another, and all for different reasons and different motivations.
