  1. I think about 70% of this game is played on this forum

    Please try again.

No, 70% of this game is on IRC.

But I wouldn't say that calling these forums "useless" is as off-base as some might think. They aren't absolutely useless, but joining these forums isn't a make or break in this game, nations would be much better served getting on IRC and being active in their own alliance's forums. I don't think I'd be losing much if i decided to never visit these forums again, It would just be harder to keep up-to-date on things, but by no means would it cripple my game experience.

  2. Let me guess: same "idea" that says you can get buff in 4 weeks with supplements and a bigger penis with pills?

    Rrrriiiiiggggghhhhhhtttttt.......

I read through the stuff, looks complex, something that would take time and devotion. I guess its a good thing that I'm happy being 6'1, because I haven't the time or the devotion to being healthy.

Although, it kinda sounds as if healthy/fit people will overall be taller on average then the average slobs like us who play CN.

  3. Overall, I'm kinda 50/50 on your post.

Staying put and building friends is important to staying in the game, there is much more then power, however there is no alliance that is a perfect fit for everybody, sometimes you simply realize that you might be happier elsewhere and that its time to be moving along. People should try to persevere through minor conflicts and not go crazy over minor details because nobody is the same and there is destined to be differences, however not everything is minor and sometimes changes in alliances is warranted.

  4. interesting, certianly appreciated, although its kinda hard to use that to gain the bigger picture. Take MHA for example, while only two may have posted their surrender, the MHA AA has dropped 30 members in the last week, but with anything, there are so many factors in play (such as halting recruiting) that its really hard to tell anything.

  5. Aloop, as far as those terms went, we we're primarily holding out for better terms. The only thing that we had serious objections to, and that was the deal-breaker was the 1k tech term. I don't believe it was so much we turned them down as Xiphosis said take them or eternal war, its our choice, he didn't care. Rather then agreeing to something that was something we didn't feel was in our best interests, we did what we could, tried to work to get the 1k tech clause removed, however eventually we recognized that it was that or eternal war, accepted the terms with the 1k tech clause (although most of the alliances opted to not hold us to it.) As for 'indifference', quite frankly before the war I don't think a single member of the Echelon government cared about or held a grudge against GOD. While we we may have had had dealings in the past, but that doesn't mean that we had something against you as much as you had something against us.

  6. As a member of Echelon, I was certainly witness to some of this stuff, I remember us paying something like 34k tech and 300 mil when we were a 50 member alliance. Sure, we weren't a bunch of angels in our efforts in the past, but its always to note that two wrongs don't make a right.

Often, grudges in anything, and specifically in cybernations, run in cycles. I can say that because of the behavior of certain alliances in the Karma war, we in Echelon have developed grudges against alliances that otherwise we had been more or less indifferent to. Its a cycle of violence, and until you stop the cycle, its a continuing losing effort for all parties involved on the long-run. There is a distinct difference between justice and retribution, and when you make retribution your primary effort, it sometimes comes back to bite you once more.
