  1. A very good point was made here. I remember a few years ago when war much more common, alliances could declare war on and fight it out with other alliances, without it escalating into a mass global conflict. I'm not saying that global conflicts aren't fun, nor that they don't provide quality entertainment to both combatants and bystanders, however if an alliance's goal is to survive, they have to be a bit more careful when declaring war now days, as opposed to a few years ago. As a result, wars become less frequent. Things seemed much more simple back then.

  2. The best way is to show a little back-bone and not allow yourself to get bullied in the first place. Sometimes you may have to take a few lumps, but often that's the cost of demanding respect. If bullied by a group of people which often leaves you outnumbered, stalk them and take them out one by one if you have to. Once others realize your not a victim type, the problem pretty much goes away.

  3. On another note, I have my doubts as to it being just a coincidence that some seek to put a Mosque near ground zero.

To me it sounds like some type of statement being made, more then just a simple desire to have a mosque built in a convenient area.

If this is the case, then I'd be willing to bet that the true motive behind their goal is not just to build a new place to worship, but to force tolerance and intentionally piss people off.

  4. I personally do not believe that there are "too many" alliances in CN. On the contrary, I believe that alliances are what make the game great.

Each have their own personalities, which makes for a diverse, non-monotonous community. How boring the game would be, if only those we liked, or fit our ideals on what an alliance should be, existed.

This goes for micro-alliances too. I have never been much a fan of the elitist attitude that some have toward small micro-alliances. Not everybody wants to be with a huge alliance, nor does everybody want to be taking orders from somebody else, when they would rather make an attempt to create, and run their own. Whether or not they know what they are doing is completely irrelevant. If bad choices are made, then they will most likely gain some first rate learning experience by being rolled, such is the nature of the game. The "You shouldn't exist unless you join one of the elite alliances" attitude of some are what truly ruins the game, as is the case in most other games.

I can assure you that there are some in this community who started out trying to do things on their own, and would of most likely quit right away if they had to jump through hoops so to speak, to earn the ability to create their own alliance. Many do realize that they need to learn more, end up joining an established alliance, and grow to become a contributing member of the CN community. If somebody is being stupid, I don't see what concern it is to anybody else, especially if it has no baring on themselves, their alliances, or their allies. To put it bluntly, if you don't like some alliance being stupid, and it bothers you that bad, roll them, but don't complain about, or discourage them from, existing.

  5. Perhaps I may be the odd man out here, and maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see anything funny and/or spectacular about the joke. Somebody caused an alliance in a weaker position to go to Peace Mode, under the assumption they were going to be rolled, some people caught on, others didn't, what was the point exactly?

  6. We have to take everyone's every word to be absolutely everything they mean when there's a slight difference from what you'd say? Way to go. But why would there be a Quick Post box if there was a reply button right there? And if he really wanted to make a point, he could have removed the quote from his post; it would have made more sense. In fact, that wasn't the last post when he replied, so you're basically saying he didn't review all evidence before posting.

Also, you presented that in the most unfunny way possible. (It actually would have been nice without the emote at the end)

Let me take a brief moment here to intervene, and say that I quoted exactly what I intended to quote.

"He didn't tell you to rogue anybody, he wanted you to rouge them! God, Penkala, learn to read, mang."

"I would say that offering a prize as a reward for a rogue attack is a bit more then simply "wanting" it to happen. Sure, he "wanted" it to happen, which is why he made such a proposition."

"Did you hear that? It's the sound of the joke going over your head."

"If only alliance leaders could so easily backpedal, avoiding the burden of responsibility for their words/actions by simply calling it a "joke" after the fact... " (JorJor himself called it a joke).

It shouldn't really be that hard to comprehend when each reply is a direct reply to what I quoted, that's kinda how it works.

  7. People need to ask themselves:

Is killing someone acceptable if it is saving an innocent's life?

We have people in the military killing people over stupid wars, aren't they just as guilty as someone killing heinous criminals?

I would be able to sleep soundly at night knowing someone is eliminating evil.

Murder is never acceptable, however killing can be, and sometimes is. The term "murder" was never intended to apply to killing in general, nor was "killing" intended to be always considered "murder". The difference is in the intent of the killer.

  8. It's not that democracy is a bad idea in theory, but that it can only truly work depending on the quality and intelligence of the masses/member-base. I would much rather trust my alliance in the hands of a solid leader who knows what he's doing, then on the votes of a bunch of often inexperienced players. This is just a general statement, and not meant to apply to any particular alliance.

  9. I do not believe any of us have a valid reason to suggest something will "never be". To say "never", is close to, if not the same thing as, saying something is impossible, when comparing what we do know to all that we have not even remotely begun to scratch the surface on, us humans are still too extremely primitive in our intelligence and understanding to actually make a sound judgment suggesting that something will never happen. As far as intelligent life goes, we are yet to even leave our own galaxy, however we have reason to believe there are countless other galaxies out there, all with their own planetary systems. To me, it don't sound too far fetched at all to suggest that it's likely that out of all those galaxies out there, there are one or more planets aside from earth, capable of, or currently sustaining life, perhaps even intelligent life.

None the less, this is a good blog, so I figured I would add my two cents.

  10. Not that my opinion would matter much to you, however I doubt that I am alone in the thinking that moving a challenge to TE is a weak move, and an attempt to find an easy way out. TE challenges are nothing, most people would challenge anybody in TE at any time, the fight happens, the round ends, and the nations are deleted, and it's over with. That's like challenging somebody to a fight, only to later change it to a pillow fight.

Why not go toe to toe with your CN standard nations, where the results just can't be erased easily with no ramifications on your CN nation, the one you've actually spent lots of time and energy on?
