  1. You are giving TOP rather too much credit. They certainly did not 'single handedly' defeat Bastion; Harmlins were never fully convinced of the purpose or character of the proposed bloc, and I don't remember a time when Grämlins was in 'we will probably sign this' mode. We had no relationship with several of the proposed alliances and did not want to sign purely political treaties (we learnt our lesson on that from Continuum).

And again with Hangout, you put too much of your thought into TOP. That bloc was an attempt to formalise the 'Citadel+' power sphere and invitations were given to all Citadel signatories and most of their allies (but not IRON and NPO). The list of alliances with Q&A threads on the Hangout boards (I am the board owner) is: MHA, TOP, FCC, Sparta, FOK, Fark, Grämlins, Umbrella. Old Guard were also invited but decided not to proceed. The rest of SF wasn't included because none of them had a strong relationship with Citadel alliances, not because of TOP.

    This.

The Hangout was a forum originally created solely for the purpose of creating better communication (hence the term "Hangout") between the Citadel and various allies who were heavily tied to the bloc. FOK and MHA were allied to just about every member of the Citadel. Fark was extremely close to the Gramlins, FOK and MHA. Sparta was allied to Umbrella and ourselves through the Continuum. The vast majority of alliances involved had multiple overlapping treaties and were all completely friendly with one another at the time.

  2. Apparently Citadel was solidly and firmly on our side with the likes of Gre and Umbrella in the other camp and now this coming from TOP.

It's only logical for people on the "Karma" side to believe there was a good possibility of us siding with the NPO. They had no way of knowing what we were thinking internally or how our relationship with the NPO had drastically changed. I would also add that this is my opinion of what I think would happen and it's not "coming from TOP." Stop grasping for things that aren't there.

  3. So while everybody's reminiscing, who here remembers the "secret Q meeting" held without Sparta, MHA and TOP in it?

The leadup to that war was the best CN period I've been in. Good times.

I remember sitting in the top3 channel for the Continuum when someone (I honestly can't remember who) mentioned something about the meeting. I naturally questioned this in the channel and I was met with silence for some time. It was hilarious.

Now, had the NPO not attacked during our negotiations I still don't see us siding with them in the war. Our relationship with them had significantly deteriorated for the past few months and we were going in a different direction than them before the OV incident ever appeared. Had the war not even occurred at that time you would have seen us leave the Continuum before MHA/Sparta did (I think our open discussion of us leaving prompted them to do the same) and we would have been on a completely different path than the NPO.

  4. I. On Joint Offensive Operations

The Grämlins shall only participate in joint operations if the full evidence and proof for the CB has been shared, the exact goal of the war has been defined, rough peace term demands have been discussed and the other participants have been named.

    ----

I wonder what the rough peace terms were the day they entered into the war.

  5. "Since my side of the war has been attempting to get people to the table to negotiate every night for the last 10 days that the blog posts about how evil we are have stopped."

Correct me if I'm wrong but officials from my alliance were online and ready to negotiate last night but were told at the scheduled meeting time that your "side" would need atleast an extra day or so to talk about their next offer. So I believe your statement about being on "every night" is wrong.

  6. NSO wouldn't win a war against iFOK alone, it would be a draw at best. iFOK is a very well organised alliance with a quality member-base who performed very well this war, (they fought a ton of alliances and prevailed).

They prevailed solely because the NpO lacked a backbone. My opinion wasn't based on their ability to fight (I'm sure they can handle themselves at their size) but because they'll always run to FOK if anything doesn't go their way. Why do you think they could start all that crap on Purple and get away with it? It isn't because they are intimidating in any shape or fashion. It's because their big brother was standing behind them the entire time letting it happen.

  7. And what makes paying for the damage 'unreasonable' exactly? From where I'm standing, it is only right. They are entirely responsible for this war. No matter how you try to twist it around. Furthermore we are attempting to come up with a reasonable end that demands they only pay a minor part of the damage they caused which I find to be severely lacking.

I don't care if it takes them five full years to repay their debt, it will still be reasonable. They attacked us to rule the world, that is unacceptable. That sort of action against us is what CnG was founded to deter. That they thought they could just sweep us aside and go on to bigger conquests is their own folly. One they should by all rights pay for in full.

You've convinced me. I feel like we should build you a new house to replace the one we burned down. Afterall, I don't think you could afford one without our help.
