I've noticed that....

Since my side of the war has been attempting to get people to the table to negotiate every night for the last 10 days that the blog posts about how evil we are have stopped. What? Did you guys all run out of material? Or are we evil now for negotiating?

Also to TSO, your war declaration reasons on your recent feeble attempt at a counter attack (10 attacks in 13 hours) on Genesis has people in Checkmate that were receptive to working out arrangements for reps that would make exit easy on you guys change their opinions. Slapping those in the face you are at the negotiating table with is not a way to get favorable terms. Wouldn't be surprised if you saw your price tag rise in the future. Respect and civility actually goes a long way with those of us in Checkmate given the fact that most of us have been around the game for a lot longer than most and we are pretty old school in our thinking.

Do alliances normally stop shooting when talks are underway? I've never seen that happen, at least with alliances I've belonged to.

Now....

About twenty-four hours before my alliance's front was closed, a general ceasefire was declared between Nordreich, Invicta, Olympus, etc. As I understand it, the reason for this was that terms had been reached but all the necessary signatures hadn't been gathered.

If TSO launched attacks under similar circumstances, then you are probably correct to be annoyed. Otherwise, c'est la guerre I guess.

There are no issues with the attacks themselves. It was the declaration descriptions themselves that I and others took exception to. Again, it goes back to respect and civility.

Is your thoughts representative of the negotiating going on.If yes, are you petulant children. I see no cessation of declarations or nukes from your side. The war continues and the ferocity of those opposing you should have no bearing on terms or conditions.

And if in your words, feeble describes these attacks then the point of you rant is moot.Principia probant non probantur. (Fundamental principles require no proof; they are assumed a priori.)

I think the normal practice in CN, is to hit harder when negotiations happen in an effort to try to get a better deal. You stop staggering Nukes, get ppl who were in peace mode out, and spend more warchest money than usual and hit harder, to make it appear you don't need peace as much as you want it.

So wait, you're using the fact that TSO complained about reps being demanded by someone who didn't deserve it to demand more reps from them?

Unfortunately it seems that your hegemonic aspirations are being helped by 'outrage fatigue', the same as people stopped complaining about Fark, or FAN, or Vox, or any of the other injustices that went on for months. You're 'evil' until you actually want to negotiate in good faith to come up with a reasonable peace settlement, not make terms so high they are designed to be rejected and then wave them around as a PR stunt.

They dragged my alliance into a war that we weren't going to be in. Yep, clearly don't deserve them Bob. And our reps for TSO were never high to begin with. I have no hegemonic aspirations there Bobbo. Ronin has a minimal treaty web footprint and it will stay that way. You have more "hegemonic aspirations" than I do, in fact you have lived them. You sat back and bought tech for 18 months and feigned private support while the alliance I called home was in a daily fight not to get obliterated. When you have traveled the road I have traveled Mr. Janova, then you can come up with a new perspective on what it is that makes me tick.

Oh yea, they really dragged you guys in:

Our choice...is The Sweet Oblivion...

tl;dr Ronin, declares war on The Sweet Oblivion...

/s/

The Triumvirate of Ronin,

AirMe, Emperor of Ronin

Nitemare, Shogun of Ronin

Kroknia, Kampaku of Ronin

I recall a wise man once saying you whined a lot.

Yes, they did. MK and =LOST= were well aware that we would not support them if they went in for Polar or FOK. Just because we chose to attack TSO out of all the people who pre-empted our allies in MK and =LOST= does not mean we were clamoring for war. Next time try to put some context into the comments.

The key word is "chose", meaning you had a choice. You alone are responsible for your actions, don't try to pin the blame for your will on someone else. The only case in which you could have been "dragged in" by TSO is if TSO hit you right out. However, it was not they who declared a state of war between your alliances.

Man up and accept the responsibility for your actions, whining here will get you nowhere.

We had a choice of who to attack in honoring our defense treaties with MK and =LOST=. Honestly though, our anger was directed at TOP, we much would have preferred to help there but we were a better match for TSO.

If our forums come back with all the info I can produce government polls to prove that we were not going to enter the war prior to the preemption.

EDIT: I always take full responsibility for my actions. Can you point me to where I haven't?

Clarity: I am not complaining about anything. We know where we are and why we are in this war. TSO was chosen for our front because that is where we matched up the best. I am confused where you think I am complaining here?

You had the choice of (re)founding Ronin. You also had the choice of signing a treaty with MK and =LOST=. You had the choice of keeping those treaties. You had the choice of upholding those treaties, and thus you had a choice to declare war. You had the choice of entering into peace negotiations. You had the choice of mandating reparations or letting only those that deserved them demand them. You had the choice of posting this blog. You have had many choices and seem to continue making bad ones. TSO had similar decisions to make and they have made their choices. However, there is no mistaking the fact that you joined this war of your own free will. (The only people who may have mandated or forced you into this conflict are your allies, with whom you freely chose to sign a treaty with.)

It's great that you "were not going to enter", but the fact is that you did enter.

Edit: You complained above about being "dragged into" this war by TSO. Your assertion that you were forced into the position you are in now by TSO is absolutely false.

I am pretty sure me being born has had an effect on everything too. I am surprised you didn't throw that into the argument you just tried to present.

You didn't have the choice of being born or not. Though, you did have the choice of whether or not to start and/or continue playing this "game".

Mr. Janova comes from a background where we were oppressed. We were taken advantage of and the only difference between your former home, MK, and Gremlins was that we didn't get into an actual war after GWIII, we politically manuevered ourselves to getting what we wished for, secretly, WHILE helping your former home with the little Nowedge fiasco. Lets not forget Bilrow and his wonderful dummies in suppressing green, lets not forget Janova and his buddies attacking NPO in GWIII and maneuvering themselves so they were offered white peace. Gre did what MK did, only better.

I blame AirMe for making TSO attack our allies with no CB.

I blame you for making NFL Generic make that save which then gave the rebound right to me allowing me to score a goal that no one gives me credit for.

Wait....
