Imperial Decree - New Polar

Riiiiight like GOD's allies won't be suggesting that they take it easy so all of NpO's nukes can be sent TOP's way.
If you honestly think this will happen you don't know Xiphosis. Hell I don't even know him personally and know that that has a snowballs chance in hell of happening.

Edit: Someone already beat me to saying this. Oh well.

I'm upset that Archon has taken the opportunity to try and further damage his supposed ally and friend. Granted, since MK is only continuing this war and forcing all of their other allies to absorb more unnecessary damage in order to try and gain and measly statistical advantage over TOP, that's not too surprising.
Your allies shouldn't have started the war to begin with. Now, I can't say that I disagree with you about the activation of the Polar treaties...it shouldn't have been done and it is in poor form.

This game is all about statistical advantages and it is why we all fight.

I gotta say, this canceling of the GR/NpO treaty is something I wish happened before the Karma war. These circumstances are odd, but I'll take what I can get. Watching Grub fall apart like this is particularly satisfying. It's a shame Polar has to suffer for it.

I recommend Polar overthrow their emperor, withdraw from the war and declare a socialist republic.

Quit messing up the War web. I don't care what side you're on, stay there.

We'll declare on anyone; we mean it.

Oh, you're E-lawyering. That's cute, why it's almost as if you're silly enough to believe the nonsense you're saying.

Polaris left us out to dry, dragged in our other MDP partners, and we made what moves we could to get what allies we could out of the war started by Polaris.

Gracious is one of the many words I would not use to describe Polaris' actions these past couple of weeks. Get over yourself Airme, considering how much finger wagging you've been doing, you've got no business talking crap.
You didn't answer my question before you lashed out at me. And it isn't e-lawyering, it stating the facts. You should probably take a rest and come back in the morning.

I know how you feel right now........I've been there. And I would be ticked off if I were you too.

I didn't see this when they declared on GOD, in defense of you. At least they made the effort to make your burden less, even if it wasn't ideal. I don't know the particulars as I honestly care little.

What I do know is, peace was worked hard for and its sad to see that that side escalated the way it did.
Our declaration was a method to de-escalate the fighting on that front.

And I, for one, remember pointing out how the GOD front hardly constituted a "burden" on us in the first place. A fact admitted to by Xiphosis. Please. We both know you're talking out of both sides of your mouth, here.

I'd say I'm pretty disappointed myself, and I'm in the alliance they ostensibly declared on behalf of!
Believe me, it would make my day if this lead to a divergence between Polaris and the NSO. But really things are so far beyond your control at this point it's funny.

Where is TOP cursing Polar?
I don't necessarily mean literally, but there's plenty of "I am disappoint" and general gnashing of teeth from your "side" of this war (which, let's be honest, never included Polar), and I'm going to extrapolate from the little I've read that your crew isn't thrilled about this. Especially given your reaction to the NpO's declaration on GOD, which was one of joy.

Well like Archon explained, peacing out now leaves TOP with a full upper tier in tact and MK hurting pretty badly. If we continue on longer, that evens out until we hold the advantage. Until that point is reached, if they want to surrender terms would have to be crushing for us to consider them, or else we effectively lose.

Would terms actually be signed saying all TOP members must have under 1k tech? No almost certainly not. But it would have to be something close if you want peace today rather than fighting it out.
VietTOP then, I guess.

It is hardly a secret how Xiphosis feels about Polar. If Polar really wanted to expedite peace by attacking...which is a paradox in itself......they should have hit another alliance. Grub knew exactly what he was getting Polar into by attacking GOD and it is a shame that he is still at the helm to make another move like this.

In 3 weeks he has managed to completely destroy everything Polar has worked to rebuild since the noCB war.

Airme, if you're stating "facts" then you need to not misrepresent them.

You keep saying that the TOP/IRON actions aren't related to the polar \m/ war, but just repeating yourself over and over doesn't make it true.

NSO had every right to expect NpO aid against FARK, and you know it.

This decision saddens me. Not so much I because I have love for TOP--I don't--but because it makes someone I've considered for over a year to be intelligent and honest in his dealings with others look as though he were pressured into a decision that I believe led to his resignation.

Grub, I'm genuinely sorry to hear that you stepped down. I don't think this is the right decision for Polaris, but I wish you well in the future.

EDIT: grammar at 1 am FTW

A reinterpretation of Grub's recent post history:
We declare war on X.. where X is equal to the reader's alliance name. We declare this war in defense of Y.. where Y is some alliance we have some loose affiliation or treaty with. We hope the world understands our efforts to enforce stability through our magnificent benevolence.

And I think you have lost your mind based off the way you are acting within this thread. I would take the advice of others and calm down and back off for a while.

In terms of it de-escalating the fighting, it hardly had that effect. All it did was prevent peace from occurring that would have occurred once fark's council got a chance to vote on it.

Crymson stated in his DoW that this was not about Polar but about eliminating a threat. So before you accuse me of misrepresenting the facts, look in the mirror.

Grub didn't attack FARK though, he hit GOD. Who he knew hated him.

A lot of things shouldn't have happened over the last two weeks. That doesn't make this request any less classless.

We appreciated Polar entering against GOD, and we understood they were in a very difficult position both politically and militarily. So to see another one of their allies force them into this situation and then talk as if it was just the only choice is really, well, "disappointing" is putting it mildly.

I've come to the conclusion that this was a dishonorable move by polar. Do you have any idea how hard people work to get the right stats on the sides in conflicts like this? Do you see now what you have done? This might end war-statistics as we know it. You killed it polar. You killed it. ;_;
