Zoomzoomzoom
Activity is a good measure of an alliance's worth. Not to say high activity breeds competent leadership, but with just enough organization it can be great in a war. So on a scale of 1-10 (1 being low, 10 being high) how active do you rate the following alliances? The list is the top 50 alliances in terms of score. Sorry to those left off (UPN, Olympus, OMFG, DT, etc). Jaiar
Activity is hard to measure. Neutrals and other alliances that only become involved in wars when treaty obligations call can easily be rated 1. What is unknown is how active their forums and private IRC channels are. Therefore with too many unknowns, null rating to most. Some that I will stipulate are very good are the New Pacific Order, The Phoenix Federation, Mushroom Kingdom, and Umbrella. Hereno
I would have way too many "have no idea, don't frequent their forums" ratings to even begin doing this list.

Azaghul
Posting this with the major caveat that most are pure speculation, as you'd really have to be an insider or a close ally who frequents their forums to judge. King Louis the II
Depends what type of activity you are talking.. Some alliances have the OWF as their backyard, others (like us), prefer their own forums. Because of that nobody can really say anything about alliances that are not theirs. I am very, very happy with our level of activity.
Diabloz
Well i would rate all of them below 5 except... Non Grata, MK, GOONS, Umbrella, NPO ....
kriekfreak
I'll play, although most of the ratings are based on what I heard and IRC activity Mostly Harmless Alliance - 3 A beacon of inactivity I heard (250 ghosts really?) Green Protection Agency - 3 Fark - 6 Fark is pretty active Sparta - 5 I don't really know Independent Republic Of Orange Nations - 7 Most active alliance in the upper echelons of member count. World Task Force - No idea Orange Defense Network - 6 active leadership, I think membership is less active though. New Pacific Order - 6 Seem pretty active Umbrella - 9 High AVG NS alliances are mostly very active. New Polar Order - 6 Decent for their membercount The Order Of The Paradox - 6 Less active than they used to be (I think) The Last Remnants - 7 very active from what I've seen so far. Viridian Entente - 7 Most of the gov is on pretty much all the day unless Impero is drinking. Global Alliance And Treaty Organization - 5 dunno Non Grata - 9 Overactive, if there is a thing like too active, NG is it. The Democratic Order - 1 lol those guys RnR - 4 FOK - 7 Not as active as they used to be but still more active than anyone really. Nordreich - 7 Random Insanity Alliance - dunno I think around 5 Mushroom Kingdom - 7 same as FOK The Legion - 2 Nusantara Elite Warriors - 4 The Phoenix Federation - 4 LoSS - 4 Valhalla - 8 highly active NATO - 3 Multicolored Cross-X Alliance - 2 Global Order Of Darkness - 6 Federation Of Armed Nations - 5 (they are on another server so hard to see how active they are, when I was there it was remotely active) Commonwealth Of Sovereign Nations - 5 Nueva Vida - 3 The Foreign Division - 3 The Grand Lodge Of Freemasons - 1 The Templar Knights - 3 World Federation - 3 Goon Order Of Oppression Negligence And Sadism - 6 Legacy - 3 Fellowship Of Elite Allied Republics - 3 Asgaard - 4 Argent - 4 Christian Coalition Of Countries - 3 Global Democratic Alliance - 3 Ragnarok - 3 Guru Order - 3 Siberian Tiger Alliance - 3 The International - 6 more active than the average alliance I reckon The Grämlins - 6 old gramlins was probably more active Knights Of Ni! - 1 lol The Prolific Empire - 3 Boards Alliance Of Protectorate States - 7 Active SLCB - 6 Pretty active too. Yeah this was pretty hard. Most of the scores were given with a lot of speculation.

Rush Sykes
This is virtually an impossible thing to rank. What is activity? being on IRC? Posting on forums? Responding to in game orders from the alliance? Aid slot usage? There is no one right answer.
Delta1212
Unless someone has incredibly high or low activity rates in publicly recognized areas, this is mostly going to consist of random guessing. There are probably about a dozen alliances that I could really give an accurate measure of, and they'd mostly be allies because that's who I've had the most exposure to with the largest number of data points to base my estimates off of. Edit: Alright, I'll admit Zoom's rankings are funny. Can't quite tell whether that's intentional or not, though. ShouAS
Based totally on the idea that an inactive alliance would have its nations deleted after 25days Mostly Harmless Alliance 10 Green Protection Agency 10 Fark 10 Sparta 10 Independent Republic Of Orange Nations 10 World Task Force 10 Orange Defense Network 10 New Pacific Order 10 Umbrella 10 New Polar Order 10 The Order Of The Paradox 10 The Last Remnants 10 Viridian Entente 10 Global Alliance And Treaty Organization 10 Non Grata 10 The Democratic Order 10 RnR 10 FOK 10 Nordreich 10 Random Insanity Alliance 10 Mushroom Kingdom 10 The Legion 10 Nusantara Elite Warriors 10 The Phoenix Federation 10 LoSS 10 Valhalla 10 NATO 10 Multicolored Cross-X Alliance 10 Global Order Of Darkness 10 Federation Of Armed Nations 10 Commonwealth Of Sovereign Nations 10 Nueva Vida 10 The Foreign Division 10 The Grand Lodge Of Freemasons 10 The Templar Knights 10 World Federation 10 Goon Order Of Oppression Negligence And Sadism 10 Legacy 10 Fellowship Of Elite Allied Republics 10 Asgaard 10 Argent 10 Christian Coalition Of Countries 10 Global Democratic Alliance 10 Ragnarok 10 Guru Order 10 Siberian Tiger Alliance 10 The International 10 The Grämlins 10 Knights Of Ni! 10 The Prolific Empire 10 Boards Alliance Of Protectorate States 10 SLCB
KainIIIC
Rate the alliance's activity, and not include NSO :/ My winner has to be Umbrella, member-to-member, prolly the most active in war. Tygaland
Can't rank this really as true activity can only be seen on the alliance's forum and most of that is members-only. I don't count dozens of mouth-breathers polluting the OWF with nonsense as "activity" from an alliance whereas a few people clearly do. A number of alliances avoid the OWF unless they have something to say that they consider important but maintain activity on IRC and/or their alliance forum. Probably the best indicator of an alliance's activity is how long it takes members (or at least an overwhelming majority of them) to check in when they've received a notice of trouble brewing. The speed in mobilizing is the only indicator that matters in the long run, and I doubt that many alliances will tell you that it takes a couple of days for their members to show up in an emergency. (It may be true....they just won't tell you. )
janax
Since about 5pm, over 30% of our alliance has been on IRC communications. We are terrible.
Vol Navy
Really you could pretty much assign a number for your own alliance and maybe your absolute closest allies. I guess the best indicators from an outside perspective would be FA slot usage, war response (ironically including quickly following your orders to go into PM if needed) and things like wonder purchase patterns. If an alliance has a high percentage of SDI/MP's for instance even among their younger/smaller nations, you know that alliance is actively aiding and building their military machine. Still it's just really hard to rate something like this. For us, we are fairly active. I know that NSO, NPO and STA are as well among our allies. [/quote] Being active has nothing to do with what a person does its a question of quantity. Its a simple black and white question, they are here or they arent. If people are on every day they are active end of story. Saying that it did give you a chance to fluff up your feathers again reminding the world how important you think you are or some crap. I wouldnt consider self aggrandising an activity which would mean people like you have never been active but being active is not something I can decide based on how much time a person spends telling people how great they think they are themselves. So as much as I dont like nose breathers I still have to admit they are active. Edited July 10, 2011 by Alterego

Your outburst is indicative of a guilty conscience. Now, guilt-riddled rant aside, if you had bothered to read what I said prior to and after the line that knocked the pin from your grenade you would see that I explained why it was impossible to determine the activity of an alliance you are unfamiliar with or not a member of with any accuracy at all. The reason for that is that posting on the OWF is but a small portion of what I'd consider a measure of alliance activity with others being activity on IRC and the alliance's forum. Hence, my comment stating that I cannot rank alliances on activity because I have insuffiencient information on almost all of the alliances listed to make an informed judgement. You'll notice the question was a general question about activity not OWF-only activity. As for fluffing my feathers and reminding everyone how important I am, my importance is not determined by myself but by how others perceive my words and actions. People can take what I say or leave it, I don't tailor it to a particular audience and I couldn't care less what people think of what I have to say. My opinion is what it is. Also, tigers do not have feathers but are quite fluffy. Edited July 10, 2011 by Tygaland
