What is your most hated memory of CN?

Hm...

The slow, painful decline of TOH (my first alliance) was pretty !@#$%* for me. A bunch of people resolving to keep dragging it along after it had so clearly become a sad pitiful shell of what it used to be made it even worse.

Though campaigning hard to get TYR to vote in favor of joining Teen Titans only to realize shortly after we joined what a pathetic, useless pile of $%&@ it had become was pretty awful too. Especially when I realized how stupid I'd been not to see it before I got us in there. I was blinded by nostalgia I guess.

A long time ago I'd have said, looking back, having been involved with the foundation of Citadel. Over time like all political sentiments that feeling dimmed. The memory I'll probably never get over is the feeling of being attacked by the governance of my own alliance and nobody particularly caring about it. My feelings are easily hurt

I think my least favourite memory in Cyber Nations is arguing with Alterego. :o

The only thing that comes to mind was when I was a fledgling nation and growing in CSN. I was invited to join SWF (Socialist Workers Front, for all you that haven't been around for > 3 years) and instantly attacked by 3 nations and ZI'd. GWIII.

Also, when I finally got to 28,000 miles of land, up to the second largest land nation, and then sold all of my land. I really, really regret that one.

I almost forgot about the time Master of 9 puppets raided me as soon as MK broke the protectorate. That was soooooo not cool man. lol :P

EDIT: Wow, so not only did you steal my land, but you sold it too? LOL

The total obliteration of the Worldwide Imperial Nations by the alliance formerly known as Atlantis. Being the leader of the alliance at the time (early 2007), it was a hard hit, especially since the alliance existed for little over 2 months. Alas, I can't hold a grudge anymore.

The most valid memory is the unwarranted expulsion of Shurukian from The German Empire, after a small series of misunderstandings gave Vlad Dracula the leverage to forcefully abdicate the leader of the alliance. This issue was never resolved with what truly happened, and probably won't be. However, in loyalty to a friend that I've known for a very long time, it is certainly valid as something I wish never happened.

Blitzing Genmay in GWIII. Horrible move all around. Our military was still dealing with GOONS raids and all it did was retard the peace progress.

For honorable mention, sitting in the Aegis command channel in GWIII and getting queried by a senior Legion military commander. The Legion commander wanted to borrow officers from Fark, because the Legion lacked military commanders. At this time, the Legion was sanctioned, undefeated in war and supposedly this insane war machine that was going to win the war for Aegis. Most of Fark was less than 90 days old. I remember thinking "Well I'll go start drafting the instrument of surrender".

Botching the GW2 DoW. And not launching the nukes that would probably have won us GW2. I was so green behind the ears it wasn't even funny.

Allowing BAPS and CMEA to get rolled and become Q puppets is probably my single most hated memory. But if we would have taken MK into war then.....we might have never had the victory we scored in Karma.

I'd have to say the whole mess surrounding the Polar-Pacifica dispute. That really came out of nowhere for pretty much every foot soldier of Polaris.

Most hated act of recent times was the premeditated Polar betrayal of everyone on our side in the last war. Truly a sleazy moment in CN history.

He had a lot of people play along with him, and I haven't forgotten 'Who's Who'. Some have done their best to atone for it, and have admitted they made a mistake. Others would like to think that the matter is long-forgotten. It isn't.

Question:

Am I forgiven for my... Erm... Behaviour in that matter oh so long ago?

Heh, I'd put that as the best.
The worst would have to be getting all of my friends rolled on accident.
Yeah, thanks for that, even though we aren't friends. I joined Hyperion for the war, got flattened, ended up being put on some sort of list for spending 1 day in vox to vote for king zog. Having to reroll my all time favorite nation annoyed me greatly. Not nearly as much as realizing that had I stayed with Vox I could have had way more fun than rerolling.

Doh!

Haha, I somewhat forget this one! I remember you, as in I remember having raided you, but I don't quite remember what the circumstances were :P

You were green behind the ears? Okay, I've had my fun.

Watching as countless alliances who were defeated in UJW cower and suck up to NPO to save their own skins in noCB. It's rather ironic though, because although this is my most hated memory, without it my favorite likely wouldn't have been as powerful.

You're not slinging your !@#$%^&* from atop a white horse, you're doing it from upon a jackass and in doing so you invite comparisons between yourself and the latter.

The fact is there was no premeditation within Polar during in the last war, only reaction laced with confusion and poor communication.

Depends which event you're looking at. Arguably true for the initial exit, but the declaration on TOP was certainly planned.

Thanks for not, VE definitely wouldn't have been able to handle NAAC + nukes :P
Planned? Planned how precisely?

We didn't go into the war saying ZOMG KILL TOP, and war with our initial "side" was never on the agenda until well after we pulled out of combat entirely, which was very shortly before we actually did the deed and issued a DoW.

So no, there was no means premeditation and anyone who says any differently either has their facts incredibly wrong or is a goddamn liar.

Thats about what alot of people say your former-leader amounts to, isn't it?

But to the topic at hand, which as mater-of-fact is related to the person I just referred to, I would say April 14th, 2007. Kind of a dark and dismal time, for a year and a half to follow my interest in the game was pretty minimal, I just kind of maintained my nation in that time.

Watching Grämlins die.
I honestly didn't like watching them fall slowly but surely (it was like watching a man die from cancer) until they demanded an unconditional surrender. That made me get over it really quickly.
