  1. Please stop trying to start an argument because of my AA. I explained exactly why I organized things this way. The graph is centered on alliances engaged with NPO most directly. The revisionism and !@#$%*ing I'm referring to is over topics not relating to these stats. If I tracked GOONS, I would have to track all the alliances heavily engaged with them. If I added Umbrella, I would have to add Molon Labe. If I added NADC, I would have to add FOK and VE, etc. It's not designed to "prove" anything. It just means less work for me. If you want to track all of them, feel free.

If I wanted to engage in real revisionism, I would have just put GOONS and Umbrella on there and left the alliances attacking them off.

An argument because of your AA? I didn't even know you were in the NPO until I read this post. My point is that your statistics are flawed and don't show what you seem to be wanted them to show.

  2. Wait, what? This is supposed to stop the 'revisionism' and yet you didn't track GOONS, Umbrella, Legion or any of the other alliances on that front?

I haven't really been paying much attention, so I don't really know what revisionism you're talking about, but on the face of it this doesn't exactly look like a way to prove, well, anything.

  3. Clearly, a supreme offense that can only be repaired with the payment of 36,000 tech.

They asked for Off-White Peace twice, and then said they didn't want it. If they didn't dick us around, we would happily have given them fair terms. This will teach them to be more decisive.

@ TPF: I assume its got something to do with them leading the coalition or something. But I don't actually know as i'm not involved in reps. Although, as Flak pointed out, it's not actually much when you consider the cash/nation. The 'jump' probably has a lot to do with the size of the alliance relative to many others.

  4. Perhaps it saves fuel, money, etc.

It also saves on aircraft carrier.

Some planes can be launched from those places, yes, but not all of them. The lack of carriers in the region is a good portion of the reason the US drug our feet so long on establishing a no-fly zone in the first place.

the US dragged their feet because they didn't want to enter into another middle east conflict. the french and british jumped into it, which made their position unsustainable. it has nothing to do with the lack of US planes in the region, as both Britain and France could enter there anyway.

You don't win a war by sitting there and letting the enemy send their stuff at you. At some point you have to attack back. That's when you need carriers.

You don't "win" a nuclear win.

With the rest of NATO getting rid of theirs, someone has to have them.

    "has to"

In order to protect from the ______________

  5. You really haven't been paying attention to how this is being fought, have you?

Aircraft have been launched from the USS Enterprise, the Giuseppe Garibaldi, the USS Kearsarge (an amphibious assault ship capable of launching a small number of harrier jump jets) and France is moving the Charles de Gaulle to the area to support the attack. With fighters and other small craft, they only have a relatively short amount of fuel, which really hampers their ability to run combat air patrol missions. Having carriers in the area also greatly increases the response time of aircraft in a combat scenario and increases the overall flexibility of the group. Remember, the mission isn't to bomb Libya; it's to establish a no-fly zone and protect civilians. Most of the bombing so far has been to anti-air and air force facilities, which is pretty important to the establishment of a no-fly zone.

And yet somehow both France and Britain are able to send planes without carriers. And the US is also sending planes in from Italy.

Actually, as an island nation, Japan is a prime example of a nation that would need that kind of capability.

*Assuming they had some desire to wave their dick about on the international scene.

    [hint, they don't]

Yes, because it's not as though they have two highly hostile nuclear capable nations just across the sea from them or anything.

"An arms build up and power projection will prevent war."

Also, you guys should remember that most of the carriers (as well as much else in the military) are holdovers from the Cold War when we needed them to compete with the Soviet Union.

And yet the US is replacing them.

  6. Umbrella has Moved over 700 million+ each round so unless this last round has been a lagging round, Id say your not giving them the credit they deserve for this mind boggling aid airlift.

    Yeah, whatever man.

Although Umbrella's still sending much more than us

    - MK Lord High Treasurer.

    Literally the post before yours.

  7. SA seems to have a better grade of posting, perhaps it is because the mods ban idiots and there is a small matter of 10bux to join the forum...

But it does not stop them looking down on pubbies (their word for non-Goons) and trolling off site forums.

They are loyal to each other (mostly , don't ask about Suas from eve online)and they don't give a toss about anyone else.

yeah, none of that has anything to do with posting though (i.e. TC's topic). SA is one of the few forums with decent, content filled posts.

  8. This is not something that's going to change. It's the legacy of LUE, GOONS, 4chan and all the other humour site invasions which attempted to fuse their culture with the existing political structures years ago. They succeeded to an extent and this is the result. Reasoned debate and candid discourse lost out to memes and disinformation; discussion is no longer about advocating your position, but about degrading your enemies. That's why there's very little substance to any of the posting here: most of it is just vain attempts at 'clever' word games, technicalities of language and repetitious logical fallacies.

See my forum signature. This fight was lost in 2007.

except none of that is LL culture. and i'm fairly sure it's not SA culture either, although i'm not a regular there.

  9. We did not promise 2 million nation strength upon our DoE, it was a rough estimate. In fact, many of us believed it would be somewhere between half a million and a million.

    750k, 250k, heh. what's 200% really?

I do love how you take half the things out of context though Ag, really, you've done a bang-up job here.

the context is quite clear. there was a thread a little under a week ago where people either like or dislike a new alliance. now that alliance has fallen apart, the replies are funny.

unless of course the issue is with c+p in which case what the $%&@.
