I sort of randomly decided to make a list of unofficial blocs going off my master treaty list.
By "Unofficial bloc" I mean that all of the alliances are treatied to each other. Might have missed a few but I think I got most of them. I just thought it might be interesting to look at. Anyways here it is:

Kind of interesting to see the overlap that's present. Although, probably could have done without the 3-member ones, as they are fairly common and not particularly significant.

Maybe we should give them all Unofficial names.

sweet, IAA's is in only 3 unofficial blocs and all are with 3 alliances. in fact, 2 of the 3 involve Athens.

Interesting to say the least, though not the first time this has been brought up I am sure.

At first glance, all I see is that there are a lot of blue alliances, and Farkistan has too many treaties

I think the better question is, which of these alliances could potentially start a bloc based on diplomatic ability and a lack of comfortability in their current position. When met with these two constraints, I think of Farkistan and Pacifica.

Using that, I use the OP to see who these two alliances could potentially have in their respective bloc(s).

That said I could see the following bloc(s) actually happening:

1) Farkistan, Guru Order, Mostly Harmless Alliance, Sparta
2) Polaris, Siberian Tiger Alliance, Genesis, Neuva Vida, and some more blue alliances.
3) Pacifica, Regnum Invictorum, NSO, Hydra, and some more purple.
4) Argent, OMFG, TOP
5) Dark Templar, Neuva Vida, Nordreich

I don't believe that NADC has a treaty with NPO. You might be mistaking them for NATO.

And ironic that you do this just as I'm putting the finishing touches on my new treaty web.

Something I just noticed, the treaty text for the USN-NpO treaty that was posted on the OWF (that the wiki page and your list make use of) is incorrect, the treaty text on both alliances public forums includes an optional aggression clause and the treaty itself is listed by both as an MDoAP, so the USN/NpO/UPN entry should be in the 3-alliance-MDoAP section.
