Well this part of the forums seems to be more of a discussion of news and whatnot. As long as it isn't in alliance announcements I don't think it's against any rules. Could be wrong.

It's not a rule violation to post an observation. WANA was probably just going through the wiki and noticed the change. I think someone else here posted that the last edit was in June, but the change is listed as today:
