[/quote] I suppose we could of. But, they are currently under the protection of the Imperial Assault Alliance. Normally, once an alliance signs a MDP with another alliance, they no longer need a protectorate treaty and I have seen no indications that would lead to the IAA- TIO protectorate being cancelled at this time. Sure for most alliances they are more or less redundant (seeing as an alliance has this thing called sovereignty), but for alliances that are a protectorate they provide a nice way to establish themselves in the world before coming into their own.
