I am extremely upset with NG for not handling this very serious situation with the gravity that it deserves. I have already muted one of their upper gov in our server as consequence, and rest assured that if they retaliate in any way at all, war will certainly break out between the two of us. I honestly would be interested to see how Tev's thoughts have evolved on this topic in the year-and-a-half since he started this series. A lot of the criticisms surely have only been proven true: Oculus continues control, Cobrasphere basically imploded at least in small part because it couldn't escape its own chaotic energy. However, I think it could be argued that some others may have been either misguided or simply acted on: there were major shakeups in leadership both in RFI and elsewhere, alliances and coalitions have somewhat meaningfully shifted on the peripherals at least, etc. Also, it seems like it's around that time where a lot of the people in the community are in the mood to opine on the state of CN politics lol, and this blog always seemed great at being a space for people to do that relatively freely.

This is true, although imo it is also kind of weird that Bundy did a little over 40k combined damage (7.9k to Moose Hole, 11.9k to nachoburrito, and 21k to REALPAL) to the Fark nations, but not even 2k NS damage to you. Also, you're conveniently ignoring the two wars since then where you and Bundy did practically nothing to each other except occupy a war slot for a few days before peacing out. Tbh, given the data (and FL's own arguments), I think we can pretty easily tell which it is, and to his credit it's clearly not that he's terrible at war.

Of course they don't have a formal treaty, but alliances have held paperless treaties and similar informal arrangements since forever. Anyway I don't know what it matters since, despite Bundy's repeated claims, he is a rogue as you just said, and neither you nor NG or anyone else needs any sort of treaty activation to go after a rogue. You are free to choose to believe NG or not when they say they were asked to get involved, but I don't understand how the lack of a formal defense treaty has any bearing on whether they really were asked or not. I know this wasn't addressed to me but it's just too good haha. I'm thinking they didn't assist because...you didn't ask? Crazy how that would work if true.

You think that NG shouldn't have helped an informal ally by protecting them against a rogue, so in response you're...defending NG...by attacking that rogue alongside them? Am I getting that right? It seems kind of convoluted if I'm being honest.

I didn't realize DS was willing to help defend NG, but at least something positive has come from all of this!

Not exactly a surprising treaty, but congrats nevertheless.

Haven't seen such a terribly-executed surrender since Hitchcock posted terms that COBRA hadn't even agreed to lol. Something something peace in our time and whatnot, though. Hope everyone enjoyed the casualties!

For what it's worth, the nation of Kaplea is being ZI'd because Kapleo has spent months treating the CCC with hostility we did not earn, attempted to hold us as hostages because he's too proud to simply go inactive, and ultimately abused his sanction powers - that we had played some small part in helping him get - by sanctioning CCC members who have had no part in the ongoing drama whatsoever, simply out of anger that we refused to be held under threat. We've made every effort possible to stay on good terms and respect his autonomy as a leader throughout the year, and have received nothing but hatefulness, conspiracies, and slander in response. I genuinely feel like we've given more grace than he probably deserved up until this point, but yesterday's actions, in the context of the past few months, crossed a line that can't be uncrossed anymore. At some point there have to be consequences for his behavior. I genuinely hope that someday, if Kap pays his dues and learns some humility, he can be granted peace from this world. In the meantime, we'll do what we feel is necessary to protect ourselves and our dignity, and I hope everyone can respect that.

We've only been allies for a few months but it feels like this has been a long time coming. I look forward to sharing many crusades together. DEUS VULT

Really sad to see the end of TIE, and I know that putting an end to your alliance is one of the hardest decisions to make, but you all have found a great home in NG. I'm looking forward to seeing more of you all in our embassies
