  1. Good to see this game still attracts its fair share of paranoid techies lol
  2. I'm sure this wasn't an easy decision, but I respect you guys for finding your own path. Best of luck to our friends in the White Sphere 🙂
  3. I'm proud to stand with FTW as they make a new path in this world. Best of luck to all of RFI as well.
  4. Uhh probably because the alliances engaged in the war weren't the only alliances that had an interest in knowing why it had been declared? The point that I think Kap is making is that allies do tend to avoid defending people who deserve to be attacked more than people who were unfairly attacked. Also, like someone else pointed out earlier in this thread, there is still a peanut gallery in this game that will always influence public sentiment towards aggressors and defenders, and refusing to explain your motives as the aggressor tends to not play well with them either, for whatever that's worth. You're right that COBRA and NG were going to argue the CB either way, but you should at least acknowledge that the approach you took made it far easier for them to drive the narrative (especially with people who don't traditionally show up on their side), if not that you knew subconsciously that it wasn't going to be easy to defend to anyone who wasn't already looking for reasons to roll COBRA and NG.
  5. Congrats all on peace, and a well fought war on both sides!
  6. So not beer-o-sphere 2.0? Fair enough. Congrats!
  7. What a crappy treaty, huehuehue Congrats KoRT, and welcome to the wonderful world of ex-moralism 😉
  8. Careful buddy, that's a CB around some of these parts.
  9. What Wory said. Your bills will change based on your nation setup, it's not fixed, so you can delete infra (usually the easiest) until your bill is within your cash on hand. Just know that you'll probably need to clear out several improvements too, so make sure whatever alliance you're in helps make sure you decom ones that aren't as important. You can try deleting any military you have too without going under the 20% required standing army, but you're like 1.1b off so that probably won't get you anywhere near where you need to be. Either way I wouldn't reroll. Those wonders take a year to get back if you sell tech like a mad man, or longer if you don't. You can spend a little time getting back to a reasonable infra level and you'll be buying tech again in no time.
  10. Not that this really means much, but thank you for saying this, seriously.
  11. Are...are you saying Grub didn't do those things? This is getting off topic but come on. The only difference between what he did for years and what's going on now is he at least owned his villainy.
  12. It's crazy to think that the oldest alliances are starting to turn 15 this year. Some of us weren't that old when we started playing back then. Congrats GATO, and cheers to making it another 15 years!
  13. It's hilarious to me that anyone from Polar still has the nerve to talk about KoRT's fighting ability. Didn't you guys just get out damaged by them last year? Oh wait you did! It does make it even funnier that the guy doing the trash talking had the least amount of destruction in the whole war. Maybe sit this one out, buddy.
  14. Lol I mean sure, if your bar is no-CB wars, then this is definitely at least a CB, I can give COBRA that much. Seems like the lowest possible standard to hold yourself to, though. Oh come on, RT was "evasive" and that justifies a CB against his entire alliance? Didn't you just argue that CLAWS was in the wrong for not attempting more diplomacy when Lucius literally set up a spy network against them? Sure, you at least "attempted" diplomacy, and you at least "gave a reason" for declaring war, but I figured you might hold yourself to a bit higher standard against a far less serious slight, if you can even call it that.
  15. Why are you asking me these questions post-DoW instead of trying to work it out with KoRT and their allies privately like normal alliance leaders? And please spare me the nonsense about them not responding - you admitted in your OP that RT did respond, you just conveniently half-mentioned it instead of screenshotting it like the rest. Maybe they didn't respond as quickly or as professionally as you'd like, but come on, surely you can see you've taken an awfully big leap here by just going straight into war. Like I said, it's fair of you to ask questions, but you've completely jumped from "an alliance I used to like is working with someone I don't like" to "they must be doing it to actively antagonize and undermine my alliance personally" without any justification in the middle, which is absurd.
  16. I'm not sure that I'd call three tech deals "violating neutrality," and I'm sure you're aware that Round Table did correspond with you and GK more than once, as well as some of their allies (including myself). The response you got may not have been conveyed exactly the way you wanted, but they did stop their tech deals until they were assured that COBRA had no outstanding issues with TDE, so I'm not sure what more you expected here. Do you have any actual evidence for this? One aid package including soldiers (to a nation that was not at war, thus making it not war aid) and non-submissive responses from an alliance that felt it was being threatened by you is not even remotely enough to make an allegation like this. I won't speak for RT, but I am confident that they have no intentions of assisting DBDC in any way; they've spent several years helping uncover Doom's illegal activities after all, as you're well aware. It's one thing to ask questions or have concerns, but actually using this as part of your CB without any sort of evidence, especially when there is plenty of evidence and allies suggesting the opposite, is just mind boggling to me. This feels like an extremely paranoid response to a situation that didn't need anything close to this kind of escalation, and I'm disappointed that this is how you've chosen to handle it.
  17. After nearly a year of continually improved relations, I am extremely proud to announce the following upgrade of CCC's treaty with FTW. “Beati Bellicosi Accords” Sanguis enim Deus lupus est a meliore benedicitur. Preamble This document hereby establishes a strengthened bond of friendship between the Freehold of the Wolves and the Christian Coalition of Countries. It will stand to protect the safety, security, and prosperity of all members. The Freehold of the Wolves and the Christian Coalition of Countries, hereafter referred to as FTW and CCC respectively, shall respect each other’s sovereignty and shall remain independent alliances. I. Sovereignty Both signatories recognize the inherent sovereignty of the other, including but not limited to memberships, governments, and the like. II. Defense Should either signatory be attacked by external forces, the combined forces of the other shall come to the defense of their ally, including but not limited to militaristic and economic means. Any request shall be responded to in a timely fashion. Exceptions to this clause are attacks warranted by overt provocation or another treaty obligation. Each signatory shall not be bound to defend the other in the event of a chaining war, though the right to join the conflict remains optional. III. Aggression Both signatories agree that if one enters into a conflict, the other is encouraged to join them but is not required. No acts of aggression between either party shall exist for the duration spanning the ratification of this document. In the event of a military conflict occurring in which either party is forced to engage each other, both parties shall declare neutrality towards the other. IV. Commonwealth The signatories do hereby declare their wholehearted intentions to assist one another in the growth of the other’s economies; to share appropriate intelligence with another; to maintain embassies with the other in proper diplomatic venues. V. Termination A. This document may be terminated by the decision of the governing bodies of either party. A grace period of 72 hours is to exist between the statement of intent (delivered directly to the High Council or the Council of Lords) and the actual termination of the treaty. B. Any Amendment to this treaty may be revoked individually or as part of the Full Treaty between both parties according to these terms. Signatories: Freehold of the Wolves: Canik, Mad King Taco, Hand of The King Dark Lord Sauron, Regent Velocity, Lord of State CodArk2, Lord of War Lord Draculea, Lord of Economic Affairs Smitty256, Lord of Internal Affairs Christian Coalition of Countries: CCC High Council lilweirdward, Chancellor Yeshua Solomon SwagJuice
  18. I'd definitely encourage you to join discord wherever you go. It's where the vast majority of the remaining active player base is, and several alliances use it exclusively rather than having forums and such. You'll feel like things are a lot more active on there vs hovering here or in game.
  19. 1000% agree with the point about game mechanics. CN is a nation simulator that accidentally got used as a political simulator, except the game never evolved to really cater to that play style. As you pointed out, there's no in-game benefit for being good politically, and sometimes you actually end up behind the curve even if you're successful in your goals. It makes politics mostly unrewarding, which is probably why so few FA-talented folks still actively run things. It doesn't help that the community has grown complacent on top of it, but fundamentally there will always be something missing as long as the game works the way it always has. Your point about a community is interesting to me. It's a fair point, although I think it provides more positives than negatives. Frankly, the community that alliances have always fostered is why the game hasn't died yet, despite the stagnation that they also encourage. Besides, at some point politics isn't worth a whole lot if you're not helping your side win, and there's no penalty if you don't have a side that you caused to lose. All in all, I don't know what the answer is. The way the game works is never going to change, so either the majority of the remaining active community agrees to change/break some rules to encourage political activity and discourage stagnation, or we'll always be in this state. I feel like there are enough remaining political leaders (and not enough minor players) that we could make changes if we wanted to. Change all non-bloc defense clauses to be non chaining, use tools like lyricalz to decide official winners to wars, bring back sanction races, etc. It wouldn't be perfect but it might help. Otherwise we're probably stuck with what we've got for the foreseeable future.
  20. If being part of a religious community is something you enjoy, I would love to welcome you to the Christian Coalition of Countries (CCC). We're an active alliance that is peaceful and focuses on building up new nations. If that's not your thing, I completely understand, and would definitely recommend our close allies in Freehold of The Wolves (FTW), who have an equally awesome community and focus on new nations. Both of us work together on tech trading and trade circles, and can really boost your nation if you're active. Regardless, welcome to CN and hope you enjoy!
  21. We're back up over 2600?? That's surprising. Guess it's the European shutdowns maybe.
  22. Edgy. Critical. We are owned. So glad you came out of your "retirement" for this epic burn. See you in 6 months or whenever CCC does something else that you feel that urge to comment on.
