Jebus, I'm still fighting with the same 2-3 bomber tactics I've been doing for years now. Works great. I'm not in the high echelons though, so perhaps it gets different.

an attack that gets 42 of your fighters destroyed (against an enemy with much lower technology) wasn't a particularly good attack.

yes, it's all just RNG results, but it tickled me.

If you don't get it, it's because some of their nations insist on sending us their surrender terms despite being at or near ZI, which we find absolutely adorable. The undertext is taken from a PM sent to one of our members word by word, sent by a nation at 300NS.
