In my time here on Planet Bob, I have known Hoo for a long, long time. I have known him to be many things: vindictive, spiteful, revengeful, plotting, a good friend, a better leader, a real pain in the $@!, an annoying !@#$%^&, someone who has an uncanny view on how the political sides will shape in the future, a moron, and more. But I have never, EVER, heard him or seen him say that he wants to drive an alliance from the game. This is a man who even with Illuminati never wanted to drive them from the game. I also agree that the disputed line really has minimal importance, except to the "OMG, he wants to disband an alliance" crowd. His attitude is plainly displayed in the undisputed portion of the log and is clearly hostile towards the named alliances. This is old news anyway, so why get your knickers in a bocker over it? Believe whichever side you like and move along. It is the holiday season after all, you should have something better to do than "no u" for however many god forsaken pages this thread has grown. So you're telling me *someone* decided to hack this poor sap's computer, locate the log of a conversation that he just knew was there, altered a line, then gave a little prayer that Warbuck would then take the now-edited log (after conveniently forgetting the original conversation and having not referenced it since) and pass it around? Really? That was your defense? Not to mention he never denied the logs were fake or even thought they were real. It didn't take a whole lot of effort from Hoo to get him to claim he was hacked. A normal response to real logs would have been along the lines of "lolwut wtf are you talking about?" Another thing to think about, if the fake logs were real, Hoo would have admitted to wanting to force all of these alliances from the game: -IRON -TPF -FEAR -Invicta -Menotah -NATO -UCN -UPN -USN, and -Wolfpack (Disclaimer, if any of these alliances aren't currently in CDT, blame it on an inaccurate wiki) So Hoo wants 10 alliances to be removed from the game? Anyone who knows Hoo knows this isn't in his personality. I have worked closely with Hoo now for 2 years as both a top government member and close ally and I have NEVER heard him say anything even remotely close to a desire of forcing an alliance out of the game, and Hoo spoke his mind very freely in RoK's Ruling Council IRC channel. He then said he was going to contact his IT friends, ask for help, etc. Fast forward to now and he's claiming that his hacking defense was sarcastic. Why would he go through all the trouble of consulting with IT specialists if he was indeed being sarcastic? That's an excellent question. I've know Pops for a good while now, and I bet he appreciates being called evil and I'm going to crush his spirits, but he's really not. He's more like a Koala bear. I don't really know what a Koala bear is like so, I'm going to assume it's some cute and cuddly bear. If it isn't then Pops is what I think of a Koala bear. So really posting the logs the first time was a waste of time and posting the logs in an attempt to disprove the first ones was a waste of time. The people that liked Van Hoo before the first logs were posted like him just as much as they did before they were posted and the people that hate Van Hoo still hate Van Hoo even if the logs were fake or even if they were real. A most agreeable FACT! But still they had to be posted in defense. I never trust logs in the first place... unless its by screenshot, and even then... I have seen several screenshots faked... so unless I see it for myself, I go with who I trust the most... in this case, I trust Hoo. And that right there is an example of how we can all use the exact same logic to support our respective sides, and how this entire debate is rather moot as Lenex has said. I just am not sure if you had the choice to go with your allies about ending an alliance's existence and standing in their way of something like that that you would do the right thing. I just don't know you well enough to be able to make that call. Now, perhaps I should have edited my prior post to use a better wording to more accurately reflect my opinion, and for that misunderstanding, I do apologize.
