1.
How did you know there was a war if you haven't logged on for 4 months?
There is a magical computer program called skype where people can get together and tell each other stuff. You should check it out.
 2. What do you know, the first time I log in for 4 months and the war is finally over. Glad to see Peace I guess. Wish I could have stuck around to make the war that much harder on Sparta's opponents but oh well, such is life. See you in another ___ months.
 3. Hi everyone. I'm just popping in for a sec. Wanted to say that yes, Tulak is a legend. I don't really think people give him enough credit for shaping the world, because to be honest he has done more shaping than most. He does it differently though. The difference between Tul and Ivan is that while Ivan changed history by starting wars, Tul changed it by stopping them. Ya'll have no idea how many stupid mistakes from other people Tulak either fixed or prevented behind the scenes. He has been CN's silent clean up crew for 5 years, and that makes him a legend.
 4. Oh look, a war. Good luck to whoever is fighting against whoever else.
 5. RL decided to be busy, and it seems my nation got deleted a while ago for inactivity. 5 and a half years gone in an instant...kinda funny when you think about it. I spent so many hours, days, and months pouring everything I had into this game trying to make a name for myself in the community, and in the end I left without a sound...without even myself noticing. Poetic irony comes to mind. I don't think I'll return to this game. I simply have to much to do and I don't want to risk ruining yet another semester or job to make color coded google docs until 6 in the morning. I didn't do any shout outs in my Sparta good bye thread because to be honest I'll probably still hang out with the gang there from time to time, so I know it's not really good bye. For you all though, I'm afraid this is our last stop, so here are some parting words(in no particular order, I'm just writing as I go). XX - You guys and gals are friggin awesome. I can honestly say during my time in Sparta we never thought we would ever be in another bloc after Q. You loyalty, humor, and plain epicness changed all that. Hell, after everything that happened you were STILL there in a heartbeat to defend us against AZTEC and their friends. That speaks volumes about the kind of people you are. I only wish we made it official a year ago so that I could have spent more time with you. RIA - My bad about that last war. I'm sorry, and I really hope you don't hold my mistakes against current Spartan leadership. NoR/Asgaard - REALLY MY BAD about that last war. I know I've already apologized, but I felt one last one was owed. I'm sorry. NPO - You know what, you're alright. I never thought I'd leave this game being friends with you, but all be damned if that wasn't what happened. Also, the Bears suck. Umbrella - Some of the, if not the best allies anyone could ever ask for. A lot of people say "Well you are always the ones doing things for them. They never do anything for you!". Well, you didn't see us starting any wars did you? When we were in tight spots Umbrella was always immediately there, even if our mishaps never actually turned into global nukings. You can talk all the trash you want about our black bretheren, but when nudge came to push, they are always there before anyone ready to start shoving. I love you guys. AO - Seriously, could you be any more awesome? They will fight anyone at any time no matter what. Very few alliances can say that. Asgaard again - I've loved watching you guys develop over the last couple years. You're smart, loyal, and deadly. There are a small amount of alliances that are going to as high places as you are. Keep it up. ODN - One of you must be growing weed over on orange team. Between you and RnR I don't think there is a more laid back sphere in the game. It's like one giant phish concert. NSO - Not being involved in the game anymore doesn't make you any less annoying. Valhalla - Remember that one time when I accused you of spying? Ahhhhhh good times. NpO - Remember that time when I declared war on your emperor off a NSO dare? Ahhhhhh good times. NPO - Remember that time when I spied on you after Polar War 2? Well, you probably don't....still though....good times. Tulak - Remember when you drunkenly faked couped me from MDC with Adrian?.....dicks. MK - My greatest regret is not getting to plan a war against you. I truly think that would have been the best chess match of my career. /le sigh Londo - I miss you Xiphosis - Even if the last time I actually was involved in this game you were acting like a lunatic, I still remember that move you pulled in the Valhalla-Sparta mediation talks quite fondly. Hilarious. Delta - How many years do we have left on that damn cancellation clause? Jesus it seems like an eternity has passed already... JGOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDDDDDDSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Impero/BJ/Roq/Natan - Good times. have fun dealing with the retards in the lower planning chans next war. I certainly won't have to. I'm trying hard to think of people/alliances I forgot, because I know there are tons. I've met a ton of people in this game, so I'm really sorry if I forgot anyone. Feel free to berate me if I did. I might stick around in this thread to say good byes to people I didn't name, but for everyone else...from the bottom of my heart, thanks for all the good years. You all mean a lot to me, and even though good byes are hard, I think this one is right. See you all on the other side...or on BF3 servers. Later.
 6. Anyone who has ponies in their avatar I will automatically assume is in HoT's alliance.
 7. Is there anywhere to download the podcast after the fact?
 8. Aight broseph, in the interest if letting MK/NoR getting back to their regularly scheduled upgrade, I'll let you just think whatever you want. At the end of the day, we are going to fight, we aren't going to disband, and who knows, we might even pull a win out of our ass. God knows we'll try. Either way both sides are gonna $%&@ people up, so it's gonna be good.
 9.
We've never been toe to toe, speaking a little out of place saying we've never provided you a challenge. Others who have met our toe will tell you otherwise. Why wait? If, as you just said, we're of no challenge. Roll us and be done with it. Or - are you gonna be yet another to run your mouth off against us and walk away without trying? I dare say we have you defeated already. It's not contextualizing for us, it's for yourself. Having your statements in the proper context is quite important. It's a very valuable asset within the spoken languages. If an alliance spent as much time !@#$%footing around as you have, I'd hope they have sizable enough warchests to be able to rebuild quickly. Yes, a relevant war. We'll see you there. Good to know that, for such a minimal challenge, that you admit we could ruin you enough to not be able to fight in a couple months time (Admin knows the war isn't gonna break out till after Halloween anyways) .. We are that relentless.
Uh...ok. Look, nukes are still nukes. Whether you are small or not, we aren't going to waste cash on you right before a war just because we hate you. You could be the worst fighter ever, but it doesn't take any skill to nuke me once a day. Large update blitzes are completely irrelevant because they rarely result in anarchies, and against an opponent who is even remotely prepared they dont do a lot of significant damage anyway. The only use for hitting close-ish to update is to get the nuke cycle in order, and even then most alliances blow their load on the war screen in a pointless show of force and leave nothing to work the cycles down the road. Also, the vast majority of damage comes from hitting a single button every day. Seriously, this game isn't that hard. The only hard part is planning treaty chains, match ups, working cycle control with nukes, and making sure the token retards in your planning channel don't do something stupid. That is the kind of stuff that coalition chans involving NSO have never done right, and that is why they haven't been a challenge. No, we haven't fought them face to face, but we have faced the products of their efforts and I am sure that MK's plans will far exceed anything the sith have ever conjured up.
 10.
Since when is has there been a war going on? O.o Also easy to say that you can be rebuilt within months after a war when you didn't pay months of reps etc.
Paying reps, while a handicap, Is not some magic roadblock to rebuilding. NPO, NpO, and MK are evidence of that.
 11.
Like I said before, I found it amusing that you speak of losing a war and disbanding in the same breath. I can only go on what you say, not what you meant to say. You put it in that context, not us. Next time you're raving about !@#$@#$ farriers and their families and rolling people and disbanding perhaps you should choose your words more carefully. Also, why are you waiting to roll us? You're obviously all worked up, surely glorious and powerful Sparta can find a way.
1- I shouldn't need to contextualize anything for you. In fact I know l dont have to. You have been around long enough that if you honestly believe we are going to disband, then you are a grade A idiot. Losing a war has marginal long term effect anymore anyway what with modern warchests and all. We'll all be rebuilt in a few months anyway, so losing a war isn't that scary, if at all. 2- We have an actual relevant war to deal with at the moment. Rolling you isn't conducive to having success in the coming conflict.
 12.
Right here:
[22:25] <Hyp> Question for Brehon[On_Air] when you get back. Obviously Sparta isn't in the best position right now and in allh onesty we'll probably lose next war. If we up and rolled the living $%&@ of of NSO before we went down, would you shed a tear? [22:26] <Hyp> We're going to roll them before we disband [22:27] <Hyp> we've already decided that [22:27] <Hyp> doesnt matter when or whyy, but we're doing it. [22:27] <Hyp> They are literally the only alliance in our history that we hate so much that we're waiting for the day to utterly wreck them [22:29] <Hyp> Their entire goal in the game is to be giant pieces of !@#$. [22:30] <Hyp> they are rude [22:30] <Hyp> worthless [22:30] <Hyp> idiotic little !@#$%*es [22:30] <+WickedJ> i resent that. im rude. [22:31] <Hyp> They literally have no point in CN expect to be !@#$@#$ <censored> [22:31] <Hyp> except* [22:32] <Hyp> If there was one alliance that I literally would not mind prolonging the war to the breakign point, it's them [22:32] <Hyp> villains or not [22:32] <Hyp> $%&@ them [22:32] <Hyp> $%&@ the horse they rode in on [22:32] <Hyp> $%&@ it's shoes [22:32] <Hyp> $%&@ the guy who made them [22:33] <Hyp> $%&@ the family that birthed him
For those of you who cannot be bothered to read the entire log, here is the relevant bit: [22:25] <Hyp> Question for Brehon[On_Air] when you get back. Obviously Sparta isn't in the best position right now and in allh onesty we'll probably lose next war. If we up and rolled the living $%&@ of of NSO before we went down, would you shed a tear? [22:26] <Hyp> We're going to roll them before we disband [22:27] <Hyp> we've already decided that As you can plainly see, Sparta feels that this MK-NoR treaty has doomed their already small chances of winning the next war. Realizing that defeat will come, without a doubt, the first thing that occurs to their master strategist is disbandment. Is Sparta truly on such weak foundations that it cannot survive one lost war? I highly doubt that, even of Sparta, but you would know better than me. Tell me, are you that worried of MK and NoR? You shouldn't be. Neither of those alliances wants to see you crushed (it is mainly your friends in GOD and Fark who have attracted the ire of the world), so do not fret yourself.
Why would we disband because of a war? I was referring to when we will all probably disband at or near the end of the game. As in, before the end of the game, if you are still around and we haven't done it already before admin gives notice of CN shutting down, we're going to roll you. Did you think I meant we are disbanding because of the coming war?
 13.
The first part is reasonable, and is also quite different to what you've been saying in most of your recent posts. The reason I come off as hostile is because I am lambasting you for your rash of recent posts, which all have a tone of 'behold mighty Sparta, with our perfect war records and XX and we're really looking forward to this coming war, honest! Also we beat people in the past, so they must be incompetent, whereas when you guys beat us it will be because you're competent, and not because Sparta is horrible'. It sounds like you're trying to convince yourself as much as everyone else that Sparta is up to the coming war, as well as can handle losing one. And no, we've never had much military firepower. That's never stopped us doing what we do, and using what we have when we need to. Certainly, we've done enough to give you a massive war boner for us. What I found most amusing about that little rant, was the way you talked about losing a war and disbanding in the same breath.
I talked about disbanding?
 14.
For an alliance not worth your time you sure do focus a lot of your attention on us. Anyway, congratulations to MK and NoR. Two fine alliances.
For a guy that doesn't give a crap about us, WC sure likes to take shots at every post I make.
 15.
Look at me, I'm playing politics Mum! It's pretty funny to see you constantly and transparently trying to paint yourself as a brilliant political strategist and military tactician, equal to anything the other side can throw at you. Repetition is the key, right?
I'm not a tactical genius, but I've worked with MK on every single war since Karma. They know how I work, and I know how they work. I'm not brilliant, I'm just saying that considering that both Sparta and MK both now have "friends of friends" clauses to work with, and we both aren't opposed to jumping in to fronts without direct chains anyway, that this war will be interesting to plan against one another. I'm not sure why you are so hostile about it, but it's the truth. Hell, I've already talked to them on multiple occassions about it and we've both expressed both dissapointment and excitement at the prospect of facing one another. For once we get to plan agianst an actual challenge, which the likes of NSO has never provided.
 16. See, normally in the planning channel I would look at this treaty and be like "alright, we'll just avoid NoR's defense clauses then ". But then I remembered that MK now has the option to directly defend anyone in MJ....so really it doesn't who is hit now (I guess I should have seen that coming considering XX has the exact same clause). Finding a counter solution to this will be most challenging. Well played.
 17.
So we have an out for VE, how long before Sparta makes its move for its out? Congrats MK well done.
Are you literally the only person who doesn't know about the Doomplex.
 18.
Good stuff. I hope you got the answers you looked for.
It was generally along the lines of, "ya, we didn't plan on taking reps from them but we got swarmed so hard that it was necessary". I believe his words were "I gotta provide for my people", which tbh I couldn't really argue against that. That was good enough for me.
 19.
That's a sore subject with him
Oh no, I loved it when they hit you guys. The only thing I didn't like was how long the friggin' war was I got over that a loooong time ago after a billion covos with Roq and Sar.
 20.
Hyperion, it doesn't bother you that these moves are against your bloc?
Sure it does (kind of). That doesn't mean we're all going to piss and moan about it. If MK wants to fight XX, then let them fight us. They'll bring their friends, we'll being whatever we have left of ours, and we'll have a grand old time blowing each other up. We'll all be recovered two or three months later anyway so it's not really a big deal to us. We have cash, they have cash. We have nukes, they have nukes. We won't give them reps, they...might not give us reps. When it comes down to it, whether MK actually likes all of the alliances in XX or not, we generally have a mutual respect for one another as both combatants and power centers within the game (at least it seems that way to me). If we end up fighting each other, then to be honest I'll be very happy, because it would be the first time in a long time that we actually got to plan and fight against people we know can match us, or in some cases surpass us.
 21.
This honestly reminds of NPO leading up to Karma. We in TPF were certain that was coming as much as 5 months before it happened when we were told to start preparing to be on the losing side of a long war. NPO didn't want to believe it and allowed themselves to be isolated. 2.5 years later they've never recovered. Fark/XX should learn from that.
Any alliance that hasn't been preparing for this war since the middle of last war doesn't deserve to win. MK knows this, and so do thier opponents. We're finally entering into a time where there are actually competent leaders on both sides. It's gonna be good.
 22. Oh look, MK making political moves in a political simulator. Shocking.
 23. "There is no NG/NoR treaty". "Hey look we signed a treaty".
 24.
Remember, your ideas are more likely to have an impact if you post them in the Suggestion Box.
Not to be rude, but our suggestions are for the most part ignored, and have been ignored for years. That's kind of why this thread is necessary. edit: grammar.
 25.
Has Sparta ever lost a war?
Nope. Us and MHA are the only sanctioned alliances with a perfect record...I think. Did FOK technically lose in UJW? And are we counting VE 1.0's loss to GGA?
