Why wouldn't it be okay? Especially for alliances like IAA and NAAC who were basically (if not necessarily explicitly) forced to disband.

Oh holy crap, do I have to make a post correcting this once a week?

NAAC wasn't forced to disband! Not in any way shape or form! Once they disbanded I made sure they stayed that way, and Polar to this very day still maintains the watch.

There is a name however that's not on that list, that a friend of mine will be reforming in June. He didn't want me to tell anyone though, so I'm not going to, however it is an alliance that I think many of the ex-members will leave their alliances to join.

I'm 90% certain I know that alliance, and that person. I've missed him being active. :(

I would be absolutely fine with IAA coming back, as long it is revived by someone like you, and we get a treaty again. An alliance couldn't ask for better allies than IAA, GATO was incredibly lucky to be treatied with you guys, and I would do everything I could to make sure you guys were successful once more.

I would say it depends entirely on the community behind said alliance.

An alliance doesnt die with the post saying it disbands, it dies when the community has given up, and this could be well after a disandment notice.

Or, for some, well before--a disbandment notice may be the final realisation that the dream is, sadly, dead. I'm not going to name names there, because I don't know any.

As far as bringing them back ... well, whether they last or not may also be reflected in whether or not they do the things that caused them to fall apart in the first place. Angering half the world seems to have consequences these days, judging by my Nation Strength charts. And if an alliance fell apart from internal reasons, they'd have to sort that out, I guess.

Although many don't like the idea of wars that don't end, it may be a good idea to have a chat with whomever was a former enemy. A courtesy call, if you will: 'Hi, we're bringing back X Alliance. I know there were some issues between us, but we'd like to wipe the slate clean' sort of thing.

First off GOONS (Goon Order of Neutral Shoving) hasnt reformed. A different GOONS alliance (Goons Order of Negligence and Sadism) from a dead world migrated here.

New suggested word filter for LW: "A DEAD WORLD".

I know some, but I won't name them out of respect. Yes, this is sadly common.

Oh, chew on your ego elsewhere Spongie. There's no way todays polar would treat the NAAC like you did.

And also, if the NAAC were to reform today, it would be big and probably very similar to its original culture.

Well no, you don't really need it. Of course it would likely help legitimize the alliance but you don't need it.

It'd certainly make them upset with you and lead to your downfall later on if you don't have their support, you're correct you don't *need* it, but I believe you do if you want to be successful at bringing back whatever alliance.

Success is relative but I obviously see your point.

If you were the first, or part of a group, to form the alliance then its your call to reform it or not.

If you disbanded it or just want to give it another go try to tak to the first people to make it to see if its ok.

Nothing can top you but if youve got the origional people itll look a little more legit instead of being just some shell of what it used to be.
