This was unexpected (by me). I don't know Brehon personally, but I respect him and enjoy his posts. I'm sure other conspiracy theorists will more seriously debate this, but I'd like to point out that Farrin's first post as emperor suggests that he will strive to see NPO dominate as in years past... I like this because it is sure to give the crazies something to rant about. Anyway, I hope your course isn't much altered as a result of this, NPO, as I have grown to respect/like the current NPO. I guess I don't pay enough attention to get all of the implications of this, but I thought this was an old and solid relationship... so, best of luck to both moving forward. Anyway, I'm guessing China some new hegemonic power is using its economic political leverage to drive a wedge in the historically allied North Atlantic... lol

Alliances should cut all ties with foreign AAs. It worked well for VE(1). Le sigh. Loved VE(1). Anyway, this is the way people play. If we're talking realpolitik, the treaty-whoring method spreads out the risk. With the way power shifts around these parts, alliances consider themselves more secure if their position is more fluid. However, since we're all too deluded to speak plainly, I should mention that in CN people only sign treaties with friends, etc. Seriously, though, there's definitely a relationship component to this, as regards CN. That's why we see some like SF and DH that will stick together through thick and thin, as their bonds do run quite deep. Note: Depending on who you ask, DH may or may not have been through the thin part of the thick and thin. Heh.

We're still down for a good raid... and haven't forgotten our Mjolnir friends... but I can say with certainty that this fit is much more natural and comfortable. I think our relationships progressed to a point in which this just made sense and felt right. And I know (or at least I think I do) that you're not doubting or questioning that. I think most people could see it happening and predict it. At the same time, AZTEC is not some 10-minute trend. AZTEC has been around the block and now it's here for another long haul.

Also, I'm loving the OP... So, while I am loving the OP and I mindlessly hailed a few posts back, this announcement is totally invalid without my signature. I mean, we have gov and what not, but you don't seriously think the likes of Bob, Supa, and TiTaN could actually keep things afloat at DT, do you? Well, this makes sense on TOP's part. I had some friends at OG and was the driving force behind the treaty between them and Symphony. By that time, apathy had already taken root in OG, but I remember some comments that our presence and discussions helped breathe some life back into them. As it turns out, they outlived Symphony. Anyway, I wish my old friends at OG all the best. Good and classy move by TOP to extend 60 days' protection.

Interesting development. Both of these alliances put in impressive efforts in the war. That's all from me. lol.

Congrats to the newly reformed Valhalla for finding some quality albeit temporary protectors. Then again, it shouldn't take long for Val to get back on her feet, I suppose.

As one is more than a little fond of both AAs involved in this cancelation, I hate seeing that it's come to this. Nobody knows exactly what the future holds, but I wouldn't mind it bringing our three black team alliances back together... here's hoping! o/ LoSS o/ NoR o/ DT

Heh, well, this blog surely hasn't seen its last cynical comment, but there are reasons that those of us still here keep coming back to login everyday (or once every 10 or 20 days). I'm sure it's the intra-alliance interaction for most of us or perhaps old friendships forged through diplomatic relations with other alliances. Then there are some that stick around to see a some wrong avenged, score evened, or grudge match won. Oh, yeah, and all the FA-types are here to inflate their egos... and the old super-tier high-tech nations cannot forsake their e-peens... Then there are those who login out of habit or perhaps some sleepwalkers who unwittingly sleep-play CN. And finally, the neutrals are here to defy logic.
