Firstly a small tale from 404 AD:

The Last Gladiator Fight

Telemachus was a monk who lived in the 4th century.
He felt God saying to him, “Go to Rome.” He was in a cloistered monastery. He
put his possessions in a sack and set out for Rome. When he arrived in the
city, people were thronging in the streets. He asked why all the excitement and
was told that this was the day that the gladiators would be fighting and
killing each other in the coliseum, the day of the games, the circus. He thought
to himself, “Four centuries after Christ and they are still killing each other,
for enjoyment?” He ran to the coliseum and heard the gladiators saying, “Hail
to Caesar, we die for Caesar” and he thought,“this isn’t right.” He jumped over
the railing and went out into the middle of the field, got between two
gladiators, held up his hands and said “In the name of Christ, forbear.” The
crowd protested and began to shout, “Run him through, Run him through.” A
gladiator came over and hit him in the stomach with the back of his sword. It
sent him sprawling in the sand. He got up and ran back and again said, “In the
name of Christ, forbear.” The crowd continued to chant, “Run him through.” One
gladiator came over and plunged his sword through the little monk’s stomach and
he fell into the sand, which began to turn crimson with his blood. One last
time he gasped out, “In the name of Christ forbear.” A hush came over the
80,000 people in the coliseum. Soon a man stood and left, then another and
more, and within minutes all 80,000 had emptied out of the arena. It was the
last known gladiatorial contest in the history of Rome.

In history both Christians and Gladiators died under the heel of oppression. With this Optional Defence Pact  we declare an
ever growing friendship and bond with our brethren at CCC. One which we hope will keep both alliances free from such tyranny.

Much like Telemachus and the selfless act he demonstrated, CCC have been compassionate and loyal friends, going above and
beyond in our times of need.

As such UCoN proudly announce on behalf of both alliances, the upgrade of our existing non-aggression pact between UCoN and CCC to an Optional Defense Pact as described below.

The St.Telemachus Treaty

Preamble:

This Optional Defence Pact is in recognition of the friendship and trust between the Unified Confederation of Nations (henceforth referred to as
Unified) and the Christian Coalition of Countries (henceforth referred to as the CCC) which has been present for some time. It is designed to further cement
good relations between the two alliances, allowing for military and aid support in times of need.

Article I: Sovereignty

Both signatories formally recognizes the right of each alliance to exercise ultimate internal authority, in addition to possessing a monopoly on the legitimate use of physical force, within its own territory.

Article II: Peaceful co-operation

The membership of both signatories commit to remain civil towards each other at all times, particularly in public channels, but also in private. The signatory
alliances and their member states will treat each other with as much respect and decency as they would their own. Healthy debate, constructive criticism is
to be encouraged, but both parties are expected to show tact and consideration by going through appropriate channels when addressing concerns.

Article III: Non-Aggression

No member of either signatory may participate in, support or condone military action against a member within the corresponding signatory. If a member nation
of either signatory alliance is found to have done this, they will be ordered to offer peace within 24 hours of the initial notification, and pay reparations
equivalent to the total damage inflicted. Defending nations are required to allow a period of 24 hours, after notifying their respective government
officials of the attack, before engaging in any retaliation. At which point, retaliation is limited to the number and types of attacks received. If the
attacking nation refuses to offer peace to the defending nation within the specified time frame, without credible reason explaining the lack of compliance
to the articles of this treaty, the attacking nation will be expelled from their alliance. Further, the expelled nation is to be considered a rogue by
both parties, and dealt with accordingly.

Article IV: Espionage

Both signatories agrees that under no circumstances shall they engage in espionage against the other, nor facilitate sharing information of a
potentially damaging nature about them. Further, should a signatory alliance receive information that points towards a possible leak in another signatory’s
security or a potential threat, the counter signatory must be notified immediately.

Article V: Military and Financial Assistance

Should either signatory become the victim of external aggression, or internal subversion, the corresponding signatory is strongly encouraged, but not
obligated, to provide whatever assistance possible, including but not limited to military and financial means.

Article VI: Amendments

Any amendments to this treaty must be first discussed and agreed upon by the appropriate government officials of each party, and undergo the appropriate
processes.

Article VII: Equally binding

Both signatories agree that this pact shall be binding upon themselves and all their constituent members, both full and potential, current and future.

Article VIII: Cancellation

Termination of this pact requires a 72 hours notice. This notice is required to be given firstly via private channels. The grace period may be truncated by
mutual agreement of the signatories. This treaty may not be terminated while a Declaration of War is active pertaining to one or both of the signatories
unless by mutual agreement. The dissolution of either alliance, or their merger into a third party, shall make this treaty automatically null and void and no
notice need be given.

Jesus stood for extreme non-violence, so while it did surprise me to see CCC attack other nations via chaining oA, it is no surprise that they fought horribly.  Congrats on acquiring a meatshield UCoN.
