Gopherbashi
Worst Survivor Ever - Finals January 17 - Day 2 of 5 The following are the matchups for the finals of Worst Survivor Ever. The full bracket for this tournament is located here. To avoid as much controversy as possible, the name and NS of every nation in both TFD and NV have been recorded; something that will be repeated after every successive day. Any nation joining either alliance between now and tomorrow's report will not be counted in tomorrow's statistics. Conversely, should either alliance lose nations between now and tomorrow, they'll receive a credit for however much NS those nations took with them. You don't get a benefit for nations joining, and you don't get punished for nations leaving. It's as simple as that; the rest works the same. The result is a score based only on the natural growth of your alliance. Details on how the natural growth figures were determined have been posted on the blog. If you have any questions, just ask. I tried to make it as clear as possible. --------------- The Foreign Division (12.66) v. Nueva Vida (18.13) --- TFD leads series 2 - 0 The Foreign Division (+0.01), Nueva Vida (+0.00) The Foreign Division (+0.02), Nueva Vida (+0.01)

Sparta loses an eighth of a point, which could soon give the Orange Defense Network the chance to see an alliance ahead of them without using a telescope. A sixth of a point gain won't hurt either. The New Pacific Order falls out of contention with the Green Protection Agency by losing seven nations, while the Mushroom Kingdom moves up with a very large gain, barely missing out on a Biggest Gainer prize, to close to just within three points of the only red alliance in the race. The Democratic Order hits some magic button today, gaining a third of a point despite a net loss of one nation, widening the gap between themselves and The Legion to a staggering four points - don't expect anyone from Tier Two to be making a run for a sanction anytime soon. Ragnarok definitely counts itself out today, losing a sixth of a point with a four nation drop, while the Global Alliance And Treaty Organization isn't counting itself out just yet, gaining back nearly a quarter-point as it tries to make back some of the progress it lost a couple of days ago. Also having notable drops in Tier Two are the United Purple Nations, who lose four members, and Athens, who drops by a tenth of a point. Tier Three saw considerably more action, thanks in large part to the actions of only two alliances. First, Nueva Vida loses three-quarters of a point as magicalbricks and a few other large nations leave the AA, allowing the Siberian Tiger Alliance to achieve a pass despite the rest of their stats being less than desirable. The Grämlins would've moved up as well, had our Biggest Loser not stopped their descent a minute ahead of midnight. Second, Umbrella gains one very large nation (I'll take a guess and say 130k or so), allowing them to move up to the head of a very tightened tail group in Tier Three; the three alliances it passed - Invicta, M*A*S*H, and the Nusantara Elite Warriors - all being within a tenth of a point of each other. I wouldn't be surprised if we get a huge number of passes out of that pack in the week to come. Note: the 1.43% drop in the overall score of the Sanction Race came from the removal of the New Sith Order yesterday. ---------- Related Links: Stats By Unspeakable Evil Tournament Edition Sanction Race How To Update the Amazing Sanction Race Sanction Race Update Creator spreadsheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pFd...rmXWQ&hl=en [/update] Edited January 18, 2010 by Gopherbashi

GearHead
Hey, there really is a big difference in what the numbers are in Survivor with Gopher's new system. You do realize that we never actually pushed any extra into growth for this tournament? So our efforts in these finals are no more or less than they were last round, or the round before that, or before the tournament. It really is completely Gopher's system that has changed the numbers, because I guarantee you that we aren't "coasting" on purpose. In fact, if you look at the numbers, we've both consistently lost score the past two days. Would you prefer to see the real numbers and see a competition where the goal is to lose less score than the other? Sorry, but it's just the way it is. I hope you're not going to lose any top 4 members. Telchar being in the top 5 of TOP is already almost too much to handle for me and the mere thought of him in your top 3 makes me feel like gutting myself. O jealousy, why do you possess me so?
