[/quote] Personally, I'm glad people have moved away from the standard rectangle ones, its always good to see a bit of variety and artistic license. And the new ones do identify which alliance they represent, maybe not as blatantly as the old ones with the initials on them, but if you know an alliances flag you're going to know their pip. As for new players, I would assume most of them learn at least the sanctioned alliances pretty quickly, so I don't see any big problem for them.
