1.
think anyone will ever remember? Now what was it called... oh dear.
Please God, won't someone think of the TGR?
 2.
I believe my colleagues were speaking more in general terms rather than "this is what VE will be doing from here on out" (also, Typo isn't gov, and the call on sanctions is mine as Lord). Either way, while some may personally frown upon the seeming politicization of sanctions from your end of the world right now, I can assure you that we will continue to grant sanctions without political considerations coming into play.
I know you guys get your jollies by demonising us, but trying to paint this as 'politicization of sanctions' is ridiculous. Red Dawn conferred on the matter, and after deliberation decided not to grant the sanction, due to it being seen as a conflict between 2 alliances, GOONS and KN. A conflict which Red Dawn did not want to involve itself in by sanctioning one side. Trying to force GOONS and apparently your definition of rogue on us to get your way is not going to work. Just because Red Dawn did not grant the request does not mean we did so because 'We don't like you GOONS '. The reasons for not granting the sanction, and indeed Cortath's opinion of GOONS, have been outlined in this very thread.
 3. I've been sitting on an alliance idea and theme for over a year, and I think it has enough draw to be relatively successful. Not going to state it here though, as the draw of a theme decreases drastically once it has already been seen here, and I don't want some noob ruining my chance of success should I ever decide to launch it. I do think that many people come up with a theme that appeals to them, but then they choose an alliance name and names of ministerial positions relating to it, and that's as far as they go with it. It would be nice to see them carry over the core values of whatever theme they are trying to replicate, such as Sparta having a military focus, trying to be/produce the best warriors in CN, or at least using the theme to produce an internal culture. Many alliances seem to have their theme as a facade, to cover the fact that underneath they are Generic Alliance #372, with no defining characteristics to set them apart.
 4.
NPO hasn't offered or tried to get a treaty with us. Try again.
Bam. That sound was your argument getting blown out of the water, Kalasin.
 5.
They haven't changed. There's also little to fear from them, as they've failed to get treaties with TOP or IRON, or anyone else of significance. I don't see your point.
Funny that you measure our relevance in terms of whether we have a treaty with TOP or IRON. Also interesting that you profess such knowledge of our FA, to the extent of knowing alliances we apparently failed to get treaties with. Since you are not a member of the Diplomatic Corps of Pacifica, I somehow doubt you have that kind of information.
 6.
How can one's alliance and their actions be divorced from one another?
They aren't being divorced. Cortath is simply taking more than your actions in the Red Safari into consideration when forming his opinion of your alliance. Should you continue to engage in actions which are abhorrent and parasitic then it would be reasonable to assume that his opinion of your alliance will shift to reflect that.
 7.
kool-ade has that effect on people. Bog Land is a kool-ade free zone and will remain so.
You can't stop the kool-aid man, he gets in anywhere.
in his defense, i bet it's hard to read everything when your head is that far up someone's rear end.
That is a good point. It is no wonder that Sparta has no direction or vision, considering that's all their King can see.
Ten-cent words go a long way in a depressed economy.
Best statement in this venue in a while. Keep doing your thing Schatt.
 8. And even after Schatt's, Sargun's and Gopher's clarifications, Olaf still doesn't get it. Awesome.
 9.

Excellent! More than 1 word here.
 10.
No, it started because of a GOONS raid on UOKMB's peace mode warrior.
My attempts at humour, foiled again.
 11. IIRC, this started because of a GOONS raid on Kirby. Thus, I can only assume that UOKMB stands for You owe Kirby money, b*%&$es.
 12.
I think the answer to your question is "yes" There was a squabble between a few of the founders and thus University came to be. Personally I hold no ill-will towards FIRE.
Ah, I see. Thanks for the answer, and good luck.
 13. Good luck with your alliance, it will be interesting to see how the grading system works. I am curious about The University's relationship to the reborn FIRE, as there seem to be a decent amount of ex-FIRE members in The University. Is it a splinter, a successor, or were the University members just helping FIRE get setup in the initial stages?
 14.
So I take it that since you both posted and had your say, you won't continue splitting OLD hairs? You've had your say now go away and let this continue for CIS sake. PK
You are quite bad at this. We didn't come out of nowhere to rain on your parade for no reason. The single reason I posted here was because of the claim that One Vision forced CIS to disband. That is a claim that is patently untrue, and had that been addressed and rectified I would have gladly taken my leave. Instead the CIS supporters have been attempting to dodge it and employ seemingly witty remarks to deflect from the fact that making that claim here turns this thread from one of remembrance, to one of revisionism and propaganda. If you wish to continue making that claim you cannot be surprised when people decide to address it and point of the flaws in that line of reasoning.
 15.
I wish people would just read and abide by the OP ... Now I know a lot of you have never been fans of CIS (and please for the love of Admin, let the people that were actually here for CIS be the ones who criticize them), but for the people who were actually in CIS - We know it was much more than an alliance, it was a home. Your postings have done nothing but dedge up old arguements when the purpose of this thread was rememberance of what CIS meant to those who were "IN" the AA and posibly reconnect old relationships. Yes I was in CIS at that time(under a different persona). It was my first alliance and a good home. I learned this game there and appreciated the other people I was associated with there. Although I did not appreciate the way things went down in the end, I understood the decision and went my way. I was hounded and ultimately ZI'ed by 1V but not before I took alot of your tech and infra with me. My final stand with Vox Populi was epic. So a shout out to tehchad, strykewolfe and others that I haven't mentioned. o/ CIS PK
I'm afraid the OP sets out nothing for posters to abide by. The closest it comes is saying that people who were here for CIS should be the ones criticizing them. Both Memoryproblems and myself were around for CIS, so we meet that criteria. And we aren't criticizing CIS in general, we are criticizing the characterization of their disbandment as being forced.
 16. Nice move AZTEC, looks good. I hope it serves you well.
 17.
If that is the case then nothing in this world is forced, ever. People always have a choice, however sometimes there is only 1 right choice. And if you'd like to choose the right choice, you're kind of "forced" of going in that direction. Please stop playing word games memoryproblems.
Being forced to do something by your own moral compass is far different than being forced to do something by an external actor. In the former case, you are choosing, however reluctantly, to do something because you feel it is right. In the latter, you have no choice, you have to perform the action set forth by that external actor or face punishment. In the CIS case, you could say they were forced to disband if 1V said 'disband or we're going to roll you'. As far as I remember, that's not the case. They thought they were about to get hit, and they disbanded to try and avoid it. There was no forcing, they acted of their own volition. The only thing that forced them to disband was their own fear, and their apparent lack of faith in CIS to survive losing a war.
 18.
Next time you're removed from power, do the world a favor and stay away.
Geez, you're a bitter little one, aren't you? Chill out man, he's just telling his story. I found it pretty interesting.
 19.
I thought it was a llama.
I remember back in Gen[M]ay's day, that someone said it was a cross between a llama and a penis. Not sure if that's what it's supposed to be, but it always seemed fitting to me.
 20. Also, your federal emblem has the wrong name, unless you're dropping the 'allied'. Which could be a good idea, it kinda sounds better as 'Federation of Orange Nations'. Anyway, good luck with the merge. E: Damn you RePePe :<
 21.
Whatever. Pressure was applied to CIS and they disbanded as a result, then Pacifica jumped them after they disbanded and chased them around as individuals. None of this puts Pacifica in a positive light.
Saying 'whatever' to the entirety of someone's argument, then moving the goalposts in an attempt to make your point is a poor debating tactic. My post was addressing the claim that CIS was 'forced' to disband through a threat of war, not trying to paint Pacifica in a good light. They drew the ire of Pacifica, and they chose to disband rather than make amends or face what was coming. And yes, we attacked the individuals after they chose to forsake their alliance. I don't see how it puts Pacifica in a bad light.
 22.
Considering the former members were still hounded and attacked even after the disbandment, I'd say it's a pretty legitimate statement. It was a different time. If someone with enough power (ie. 1V, tC) wanted to politically isolate and declare war on your alliance for the purpose of disbandment or indefinite war, it was a legitimate tactic and a legitimate fear on the receiving end.
I don't see how what happened after the disbandment legitimates the statement that threats of war = forcing disbandment. Even if you accept that it is possible to force someone into disbandment, a threat of war is hardly doing so. Yes, the forces arrayed against them were large enough to ensure defeat for CIS. However, putting someone in a position where they would lose a war is not forcing them to disband. I know it was a different time, I was here for it. Though I don't remember that the purpose of the war against CIS was disbandment or indefinite war. And while disbandment may be a legitimate tactic for escaping war, it doesn't mean that the people threatening you with war forced you to disband, it means you chose to disband rather than have the members lose some pixels for the alliance (though I don't really accept that disbanding your alliance absolves you of everything done in its name, especially when the disbandment comes right before the attack. Actions are taken by individuals, but reflect on the alliance. Getting rid of the alliance doesn't mean the individuals are suddenly innocent).
 23.
In August of 2008 (now under the name Confederacy of Imperial States) the CIS was forced to disband by threat a former power-bloc called One-Vision.
Forced to disband through threats? Seems pretty ridiculous to me to say that threatening war is forcing someone to disband.
 24. ye should have gotten rid of Batallion permanently, he be patently unfit to lead. Also, that gif be one of the most irritating things I have encountered in this place.
 25. Congrats Umbrella, 1000 days of existence be a great achievement for any fleet. Yours be even more remarkable, for the formidable military ye guys have been able to construct in that time. Gen[M]ay was one of me favourite WUT alliances, so I've always had a certain respect/affection for their successor fleet. Here's to 1000 more
