1. IMO one of the biggest problems with the world is the existence of 10 billion dollar warchests. If one alliance has a lot of them, every other alliance has to have them too to be able to credibly go toe to toe with such an alliance. The end result is that the greatest rewards are given to the most quiescent alliances who quietly build their warchests and do boring tech deals once every 10 days. There was something to be said in the old days for saving a decent warchest, but the requirements for what a "decent" warchest get pushed up every month. The increasing size of warchests of the passive demand the cycle between wars be longer and longer. Also, the fact that after being beat down, any given moderately sized nation can be expected to have billions saved and can continue to fight in the mid and lower tiers for many many months and beat the crap out of the newer players is a problem. IMO there needs to be a cap of some kind implemented on warchest. If that happened the only way for alliances to really stay ahead of the others is to buy infra (not a great idea, it gets blown up easily) or attack other alliances to keep them beat down. It'd be like it was in the old days.
 2. Shout out to all 6 of my opponents. May they all burn brightly.
 3.
Iirc you preempted me in that war That has already been explained, as the NpO - \m/ conflict saw CnG torn between MK-NpO and Athens/FoB-PC. What applies there that doesn't apply to this situation is the nature of CnG's MADP - we roll together regardless; CnG supersedes everything. So we had two alliances in CnG who were uncomfortable leaving their MDoAP allies fighting, but had to honor the nature of CnG due to our commitment to each other. Believe me when I say that those 8 days were some of the longest in the history of CnG. My point is more that in the hierarchy of treaties, Alliances with ties that supersede their connections to the other side need to stick with their priority treaties. That hasn't happened in this war. If you don't like where that connection puts you, wait until after the war and change it.
If Polar had simply hit Poison Clan along with \m/ they might well have won that war, without sowing the seeds for this one, because Athens would have most assuredly attacked them then, and there would have been little opportunity for them to stab TOP in the back, or reason for TOP to do anything other than chain in on treaties. Truth be told, I would have much preferred to lose that war defending Poison Clan from the Polar scum, if that's what politics and the cards had in store for us, than win it against TOP. We came close to doing that anyway. The world is very different now because we chose not to.
 4. Good, good.... your hate has made you powerful.
 5. Casualty Rank: Ranked #24 of 15,814 Nations (0.15%) I think this is the first time I've reached the top 25. I blame it on everyone else in the list being older than me and having fought their wars with more infra. But here I am!
 6.
Athens Attacked by TOP, IRON, DAWN, TORN 6,129,968 1,723 779 y
I remember these days fondly.
 7. Olympus is a great place to be. Happy 3 years to us, and I'm glad to have had a home for the past 8 months and onwards.
 8. I don't see anything in the terms about Mjolnir not being able to spy some cruise missiles away. Then they can attack/raid the nations for breaking the surrender terms!
 9.
Wow I didn't even know you guys still existed. Wasn't someone supposed to have corrected that?
Your chance to take out the trash, broski.
 10. What is this? [s]THIS IS SPARTAAAA![/s] This is pretty awesome!
 11.
I have no idea what this means, but I like it.
It's a quote from Lord of the Flies. William Golding. He is a famous author in The Redoubt of Mind.
 12.
the amount of NPL hate in this thread makes me believe that they are doing something right, i mean if GOONS think they are evil that must make them the good guys right?
No it just makes them retarded.
 13.
I don't think I'm quite big enough to fill those holes. But we shall see.
You may be an old man goose but if you truly have the lust of war in your heart you can still erect a mighty throbbing tower of war. I BELIEVE IN YOU.
 14.
You know..alot of you folks use to yell at Londo for doing things like this.. Londo was cool before cool existed!
I roll NPO, they roll NPO. I raid alliances, they raid alliances. I can kinda see it!
Speak for yourself! This is the last straw CSN! I'm shopping around for an alliance I can join that will let me blow !@#$ up...
I have yet to despoil many Spartan holes... if you hurry you can get firsts on some of them instead of sloppy seconds or trashy thirds! Don't delay, declare war today!
 15.
Well, who brought the snacks for this show?
Sparta has conveniently provided me with a total of 54,000 tech for my nation to raid!!!!! Fark has provided me with a total of 29,000 tech for my nation to raid!! Guru order put up over 9,000!! That's a total of 92,000 tech for my nation alone to raid. Forget snacks, I've got a goddamn buffet over here. DH is missing out.
 16.
You really are as brave as a lion for doing this because it looks like hard work.

One must bring forth his loudest roar during times of need.
MK is a good alliance for making charts.
 17.
I really don't like Polaris, so it's of particular "ugh" that the rhetoric of persons and alliances that Polaris manhandled, manipulated, or both makes me giggle day in and day out of this war. Polaris is past its prime, but its only now that the unwashed masses can bear to face them. I'm soooo impressed.
The Great Blue !@#$pile, if it ever was in its prime, long since passed it before I came to this place. I have not seem them display anything approaching competence in any war.
My apologies. First of all, Cult of Justitia says what it means, so when we want an ODOAP, that's what we sign, and when I see "MDOAP" that's what I think. Second, NPO involved itself in this conflict with its pending declaration of war declaration.
So you don't sign non-chaining MDoAP's then? You realize that they are different from ODOAP or autochaining MDoAP right?
Funny, I don't exactly remember CnG complaining about Polar's misdeeds during the BiPolar conflict.
Athens was |-| this close to declaring on Polar when Polar hit \m/, and bringing the inferno. We were barely restrained from it by the wishes of MK, and it caused an incredible strain within CnG that helped put cracks in the bloc that were never really fixed. We couldn't hit Polar and make MK look like a !@#$%* ally for not defending them, and we couldn't hit Polar when they were supposed to be on our own damn side against TOP. MK had no idea that Grub would go !@#$% insane and do that, but it caused huge problems for us, and if I'd been just a little madder and a little less calculating (and had any less respect for MK than I did - that went a long, long way to preventing us from going in, even when the rest of our gov really wanted to) - then the BiPolar war would have had a very different history. And if Polar had actually declared on Poison Clan instead of just \m/ (that was a !@#$@#$ !@#$% move, Grub), then I can tell you that we would have gone in regardless of anything else. Suffice to say, that I'm glad that Polar didn't straight up betray our side, but what they did was almost worse.
They were pretty pissed with NpO actually. Not for turning on TOP but for other things.
Everyone was pissed with NpO. I won't say that they can't redeem themselves, but they've shown no sign of wanting to do so even. I think they should be given the terms they gave to \m/.
 18.
Both STA and TPF's wikis say MDoAP. So sue me.
Learn to read treaties.
[Vox]Polaris doesn't have to be an archon of light for a war against them to be crap. That was true in noCB and it's true today, we haven't all subjugated our ideals to our treaties.[/Vox] And again, you're saying the same thing I said. TPF has conflicting treaties, someone gets screwed. Today it's STA.
I think that's for STA to decide, not you. And until Polar has been properly re-educated and weaned from their Great Blue !@#$pile ways, war against Polar will always be justified! That means Polar needs to stop !@#$ting on people for no reason, moral opportunism, and every other way that Polar chooses to treat people like !@#$. There are many times when people have been close to bashing their face in. You're not seeing an isolated thought by TOP in this war, and TOP is by no means the only alliance that has a grudge against Polar. They brought this winter upon themselves, and even they will freeze to death in it.
unless i missed something TPF have an MDoAP with both NPO/STA?
When MDoAPs are written with nonchaining clauses, they become ODPs for anything but a direct attack on the other ally. Read the treaty text. Very few treaties are autochaining. CnG is, but most people aren't that crazy to write such treaties anymore. Well, I am, but I'm not really active anymore either.
 19.
You're right, TPF-FAN is in a vacuum unrelated to everything else happening, and your other ally on the losing side wasn't already engaged when you picked sides. My B.
Schattenmann, do you know the difference between an ODP and an MDP? TPF has to defend NPO right now. They do not have to defend STA. I imagine that TPF probably likes this side better too. If you think that TPF is trying to preserve their infra you're smoking crack. They burn that !@#$ like its going out of style. Maybe UjW era TPF would whore infra, but this TPF? You know what I think? I think they can see Polar for the scumbags that they are. Too bad you can't as well.
 20.
Really? These are the TPF allies you're most shocked by? You should check out their recent treaties.
Thinking about it, it seems like I have a strong desire to roll alliances that have never been my allies/friends/coalitionmates or that betrayed me/did something bad to me, and that I have never rolled before. So seeing TPF show up on our side is, "eh, whatever, they're ok". Seeing MCXA show up on our side is more like NURRRRRRRRRRR?
 21.
Shocking that I would want my MDOAP partners to do well isn't it?
Stop making my cognitive dissonance flare up!!!!
Best of luck to our allies in TPF.
This is worse than BiPolar. Damn it. EDIT: TPF is ok, it's the other people that are wigging me out.
