African Mobalizations

The Kingdom of Cochin having observed and monitored the diplomatic chatter going across the world released this statement.

"Who gave Aphrike Treaty signatories the right to dictate matters in Africa? You are only a power bloc attempting to wrestle influence and land in Africa from more peaceful nations. The nations of UMS, RA, Libya, Carthage and Novak do not speak for the majority of African nations including Transvaal, Arctica, Serca, Nation of Nod, Italica, Mandalore and Somalia Italiana. So quite your over moralistic argument of doing something for the good of Africa, because that argument is inherently hollow - a shady bloc like yours are hypocrites of the worst order.

Having observed the vigorous arguments and sycophancy of Mandalore towards Aphrike Treaty signatories and Rebel Army in particular, the Kingdom of Cochin ceases all diplomatic recognition of the said entity.

Just as Aphrike Treaty signatories consider their xenophobic ideologies to high regard, so do we consider our sovereignty at very high regard. Impede us on that, and we shall give you the war that you crave.

There are times when nations have to stand together against greater evil. The world today sees the greater evil in existence - Aphrike Treaty and its dishonorable signatories."

OOC: Shouldn't we just stop this blogger stuff. It was kind of funny to begin with but now its starting to get old. Not to mention it doesn't add anything to the RP either.

IC: "The Black Raven Mercenaries do not support either sides motives in this possible conflict but we are willing to provide material and personal support for the right price".

Just like the Dragon Empire? Your past speaks for itself all to well. Your government is not exempt from the power-tripping in which you claim the Aphrike Treaty has undergone. Perhaps you forget, but you were granted to keep Bososa out of good will and because of your close allied ties with the former Somali nation [OOC: Firestorm's old nation, the name is on the tip of my tongue but I can't seem to recall :(]. Do not abuse that good will, though nor do we expect you to just take any crap from anyone.

Why do we do what we do in the Aphrike Treaty? The rest of Africa stands apathetic to the intervention of European nations and "Africa is for Africa" has been a sentiment long echoed by past nations, such as the aforementioned former Somali nation. We stand by our affirmations strongly. The UMS doesn't wish to see the imperialism of Europe plague Africa and European alone. That is our own personal opinion, and as you are an Asian nation, well, the fact that we agreed to your lot of land is a statement in of itself.

We do not see Somalia Italiana has being a state that purposefully aims to destroy Africa, but it is a colony that indirectly promotes European ideals.

Transvaal promotes European ideals over those of the so-called native African. Just thought I should point that out.

Regardless, it is not a sovereign, African nation.

It's still a better situation than some of the unstable albeit sovereign nations which have called Somalia their home. Italian Somalia and Italica (which is a sovereign nation) were harming none of their neighbours.

Despite the fact that a large portion of the United Mechodamian States are white? Your ignorance will forever precede you.

The timing of the two invasions is impeccable beyond mere coincidence.

And as the aggregate global temperature has increased, the number of pirates in the world has decreased. Just because they are proportional doesn't mean that it's nothing more than coincidence. It isn't wise to grab a straws.

To make the point clear to this new and uneducated nation:

Europe is an unstable and often wartorn continent. When European nations own land on our continent, it increases the chance of war coming to the usually peaceful Africa.

Official Statement from the UMS

We have not invaded. We have not taken offensive action as of yet on your land. We ask you surrender the land over to the Aphrike signatories. All you need to do is surrender. We will not take action against civilians, nor will we engage your people unless they fire upon us. Though that may seem like a silly concept, it's how the rules of engagement work. We are not taking this action because you are fascists, but rather because you have a colony in Africa that can only act to destabilize the region with European politics and dissension.

Official Communique from the Italian Government

Before taking such a drastic decision (leaving the colony) we want to open a full debate on the issue. We will take and answer any criticism from any nation regaring our administration, but we would like to point out some facts, proven by statistics.

Did we occupy Somalia and established an Italian colonial government? Yes, we did.

Did we romanized the lifestyle of Somalians, teaching Latin and Italian in schools, including our history and our traditions, trying to replace tribal culture with a more developed society? Yes, we did.

Did our social and infrastructural improvements brought significant changes in the life (both public and private) of the Somalian region, improving the wealth and living standard of the Somali people as a whole? Yes, they did.

List of improvements built in Mogadiscio since the occupation:

1. Headquarter of the Polizia Coloniale della Somalia Italiana (Colonial Police of Italian Somalia)

2. Banca Nazionale della Somalia Italiana (National Bank of Italian Somalia)

3. Clinica "Junio Borghese" (Junio Borghese Clinic)

4. Industrial district of Mogadiscio (Number of employees: 2500, whose salaries make them capable of paying rents and bills in state-owned flats as state-housing is widely common in both Italy and Italian Somalia)

5. Stadio "Generale Junio Borghese" ("General Junio Borghese" Stadium)

6. Università della Somalia Italiana (University of Italian Somalia)

7. Scuola "Generale Junio Borghese" ("Junio Borghese" School)

Number of bullets shot since our arrival in Somalia? Zero

Number of deaths caused by the Italian military in Somalia? Zero

Number of political prisoners in Italian Somalia? Zero

Percentage of Somali people in the Colonial Government? 100%, excluding Junio Borghese who is de-jure Head of State, but de-facto the country is entirely controlled by the Colonial Government

Percentage of unemployment? 0%

Child mortality rate before the occupation? 110 / 1000

Child mortality rate as of December 2009? 3 / 1000

Name any country that has brought such changes and improvements to Somalia

Are we the imperialist monsters you angrily depict in all of your statements? I'll let you answer this question.

Aren't you happy to see, for the first time ever, a peaceful and totally stabilized Somalia?

//OOC: When I first wrote that post I had some names confused and !@#$.//

A letter has been sent to the Italian Republic from the President himself, instead of the Secretary of State, detailing the mistakes made with the orders to withdraw embassy staff. He explained that the Secretary of State made their second large African-oriented mistake in a week and will be dealt with privately. He also explained that he simply ordered the withdrawal of the embassy staff inside of Somalia, not Italy or Italian-controlled Somalia. The mistake was in the interpretation of "Italian-controlled Somalia" and the Secretary of State did not know to simply remove the Italican embassy staff.

He expressed his utmost apologies and hopes that this diplomatic mistake will not harm our relationship. He also clarified that he is only a supporter of the ridding the government of Italica from Africa and that he has refused to offer troops in case of spilling Italian blood, directly or indirectly.

We accept the apologies and withdraw any of our statements and diplomatic actions against Carthage, mistakes happen even in such tense situations and we probably over-reacted over a mistake we should have spotted before taking any action, we also send apologies to the Government of Carthage and renew the friendship and cooperation that has tied our people more than one time in the past.

Signed

President Junio Borghese

Percentage of unemployment? 0%

Everything you stated seemed reasonable, until we saw this.

Unless if you are a communist nation, there is no way there can be zero unemployment. There is always unemployment in non-socialism/communism socities.

We highly doubt no a single Somali is without a job. It's unlikely that Italy can do what no other nation in the world can do, which is to completely eliminate unemployment. Regardless of what you've done in Somalia we've never approved of Italy's colony and we still hold that position. We only wish they could be convinced to leave without a war.

The nation that made that comment is South Pole; I have reason to believe they have no maps, for they clearly are located no where near the South Pole. They are a relatively recent nation.

OOC: I chose the name, because I thought it would be appropriate for an Antarctic nation, I was going to go with Antarctica, but I thought that not a whole lot of people would like that.

Novakian troops were on the coast of Italica awaiting orders from Command. Soldiers were digging in to their positions and setting up a HQ. A few hours later, orders from Command came in.

Novakian Command

We are not advancing in to Italica. Fortify defenses along your positions and await further orders. Rules of Engagement include not firing until you are fired upon. We will not shed blood of those willing to surrender.

End

**Private message to Italica Government**

If you surrender unconditionally and without incident, we will ensure that a non-Fascist Italica can exist in another part of Africa.

Italy, and therefor Italian Somalia, was fascist and fascism is just a shortcut of fasci-socialism, socialism centered around Italian Nationalism and the Roman heritage.. with an economical system that can be described as third way between capitalism and socialism. Italy is not a free market country, not entirely.

So is Italy a socialist country? According to the afromentioned logic the answer is: Yes, Italy is a socialist country, because social policies are always a priority and they will always have an advantage over private enterprise.
