p. sure I know better than you how much aid we need considering that's my position.

p.sure I do too since I kept record of how much aid you required in the DH-NPO war and from 24/1/2011 - 5/2/2011 so in the first two weeks and two aid rounds GOONS received over 1.5 billion in aid just to keep your nations alive and that was the start of the war... You pride yourselves as tech selling alliance who want to remain small, so a high majority of profits from tech deals during peace time should be sitting in a war fund to make them self sufficient for a while and not to need bailing out from day one.

Having a good warchest is part of building a decent nation whether big or small, so it is laughable for a GOON to callout others for having crap nations, when they need obscene amounts of aid being sent to them to even function right from the start.

Heh just having a quick look at GOONS aid section looks like an obscene amount has been sent to keep the alliance afloat, same as in 2011, so point stands as relevant, crap at building nations then and crap at it now :P

175 / 1,087 (16%)

Even if you assume that every one of those slots is 3mil/2000 soldiers to GOONS nations in need, it's still only: 525,000,000. Which obviously not every single one of those slots is. So we've received less aid then the last wars, thank's for pointing out how our changes in government are working well. Cheers mate.

I didn't know thats something to be proud of.

Arguably it is, as dominance on the low tier ends up in much more hilarity and tears.

According to todays aid statistics download from the CN site from 27/1/2013 - 25/2/2013 (GOONS have been at war since the 24/1/2013) shows 409 slots have received aid of which monetary aid totals 1,297,500,000 "dongs" which I'm also sure a percentage of expired ones have been deleted so could potentially be a lot higher.

Nice try on the 525,000,000 which was an obvious spin to make it sound better :)

I was talking about current dongs, never did I state that was for the entirety of the war. Also, 1.3billion dongs isn't much, and if you think it is I feel bad for you and understand why you are not econ leadership. :smug:

It's almost like your opponents are outnumbered or something.

Kaskus was outnumbered but they fought better in my eyes.

Keep in mind that I am only describing nations I have fought.  I am in no way saying Deinos and VE are terrible.  Especially VE which I think is one of the most honorable alliance out there.

I was making reference to your comment on their number of nations in anarchy.

Not counting deleted aid slots :smug: But whatever helps you sleep at night to always need bankrolling of most members, hence the original and only point, its laughable to criticise others for poorly built nations when most of your alliance is.

GOONs are mostly dead fish at this point. I havent had one fight back since Lamuella at the beginning of the month (who was worth the price of admission), and even then he had to ration out his kwachas (screw your dongs) which is to his credit. They're well coached, but the aid train is slowing down.

Lets face it, the ramifications of this war wont be felt here and now, or even in the immediate peacetime following the war. The real hurt will come the next time AAs have to fight, when small WCs and tech stockpiles at the low and mid tier levels will be easily burned through again. Whats more, the high end nations of those AAs are going to have to send out more reconstruction aid and have less slots for tech deals (of course, assuming they give two $#!ts about rebuilding AAs like GOONs).

Ive seen some chest thumping from GOONies about their recruitment drive, and Im not entirely convinced. Sure, some of those new nations will stay, and since they've received a thorough beating, thus securing their tech seller status, they'll continue to see aid flow their way both during wartime and especially after the war. Here's the real question though: will the money they receive be rebuilding aid, or will it just be the normal tech farm prices? Umbrella has recently spent 1.2b (as stated earlier in this thread) on them, I doubt they'll want to give more without seeing a return. As GOONs new nations see the "free" money dry up, my guess is that many wont want to put forward the effort to sell tech, and end up deleting before they hit 100 days.

On the flip side, eQ will see rebuilding come much faster, considering the sheer amount of nations. As I can only speak for GO (Insert Guru Order joke here), I will use our rebuilding as an example. The last few wars has seen my nation rebuilt better than when I went into the fight. After the Dave war, I received around 700-800 tech for free, even though I had only lost about 300-400 from the fight (not to mention the 3m attached to each shipment as well). So far in this war, Ive only lost around 250 tech (while melting about 1k off of the 6 GOONs Ive "fought"), and I expect the rebuilding effort to be even bigger than before considering we havent had to use as many nations for fighting. As soon as this conflict wraps up, Ill be able to immediately snap back up to my pre-war infra and within 2 collection cycles Ill probably be able to buy another 1k, all while adding to my tech stockpile.

tl;dr while this war seems to be doing about the same damage to either side, the hurt will be felt long after its over.

Speaking of dead fish, what happened to the nation that bloke themaltas had? Or that other nation run by Scifos?  You can let your colleague markwedd know I'll be looking down through the ranks to say hello again at some point, so I can give him another taste of fishy goodness.

e: Y'know, I think I might agree with you that the hurt will be felt for a long while after this war's over, but not just by GOONS.

I said mostly. Some are fighting back and deserve credit. Marx came out of PM which surprised me, not because I believe he's a coward (which for the record, I dont believe that) but because there's really no point.

If you had read my post (I imagine you didnt make it past that first line without frothing at the mouth, which brings up a good point, is that a habit you learned from Rey or perhaps the other way around? DOOMBIRDs of a feather, I guess) I mention what I think might happen in terms of larger nations on your side. After the war, you wont be able to import as much tech as you're used to (assuming you care enough to rebuild your fellow GOONs), hurting a little more in terms of the next conflict.

Finally, yes, it was regrettable what happened to Themaltas. He will be missed.

Leave off your ad hominems guy, I read your post. Please take a moment to note that I refrained from using any in mine.

To respond to your conjecture regarding GOONS and rebuilding, I'm sure they will be just fine postwar.

Its funny you say that, because I was thinking the same thing except I was thinking about the eQ side.

The ramifications of this war will be felt by both sides. This war is not over yet so we cannot say for certain what alliances will be looking like when it is over, but so far EQ's upper tier has been handled and their tech losses will be felt for years. Our upper tier (coalition wide) will also be feeling it, but not as much. Our middle tiers will also be feeling it, both sides. Whoever has the easier time rebuilding, well I can't say. Post war some things will be changing, so we'll just have to see what happens to bring this war to a close, and then see how the post war rebuilding happens. Some alliances will be rebuilt easier than others, some have experience rebuilding, and some look at the larger picture and take that into account before fully rebuilding to see what is most needed at that time. Basically what I'm saying is I don't think EQ will have an "easier" time of rebuilding those who fought. There are many in the EQ coalition who did not fight and thus need no rebuilding, so in the sense of getting back to pre war strength many in EQ will be there shortly. Those who fought won't be. Those who fought hard and did the heavy lifting this war won't be. And since this war will not be ending with huge reps being paid to anyone, we'll just have to see who does the "best" rebuilding when the time comes.

Fair enough, my apologies. I never said it would be impossible, and Im sure GOONs will be just fine as well. Most of what I was getting at was what Umbrella would be willing to bring to the table to help.
