1.
Is it really necessary too attack a nation with no CM's, no air force, no military at all, and less than 100 infra, 11...eleven times. COME ON!!!! If this was just a tech raid, it should have stopped and an offer of peace should have been sent when I had no military left. Do you guys get that much pleasure kicking a dog while it is asleep? If so i feel sorry for any pets that y'all may own.
We initially only did GA attacks on you and you countered with CM and AF. So yeah, when you hit back you got the full meal deal. You had an AF, but we killed it. You bought CMs and used them. You had soldiers, but dismissed them. You had a lot more infra, but sold it. Note that there have been no attacks the last two days since you ceased any return attacks the day prior and went turtle-mode. You could have sent a peace offer or even a PM at any time to request peace. Lastly, you should delete past wars on your war screen if you are going to throw out the victim card and have such a whiny nation bio. Carlitos9595 of Republic of Burrito was 1448 NS to your 2932 NS on 9/14 when you attacked him. I'm sure he appreciated being attacked by a larger nation about as much as you did. He probably didn't counter you with AF or CM, but I can't imagine you would have rushed to grant him peace had he done so.
 2.
Unlike TBRaiders, who expected to go WR first round at his pick but opted for RB, I chose to go for the sure thing, a stud WR, and would let the middle rounds sort out my RB situation.
If you read my post I said I expected QB to be my first pick, RB my second, and WR my 3rd and that was really from just mocking the first three rounds a couple times with the flea-flicker mock draft option. It's not like I had a set strategy, but with 8 picks in front of me I was pretty sure CJ, AP, MJD, Rice, Gore, Turner, Rodgers, and either A.Johnson/S.Jackson would all be taken, which would have left me opting for stud QB first. Worked out better than anticipated.
 3. My Roster:
Starters Matt Ryan QB Frank Gore RB LeSean McCoy RB Jahvid Best RB Reggie Bush RB Marques Colston WR Lee Evans WR Mike Williams (TB) WR Devin Hester WR Zach Miller TE Tony Moeaki TE Shayne Graham K BAL Patrick Chung DB Eric Berry DB DeAngelo Hall DB Brett Keisel DL Stylez G White DL Matt Shaughnessy DL Barrett Ruud LB Curtis Lofton LB Rolando McClain LB Jonathan Vilma LB Geno Hayes LB Bench Jason Campbell QB Kareem Huggins RB Jonathan Dwyer RB Mike Thomas WR Dexter McCluster WR Donte Whitner DB Morgan Burnett DB
I knew QB were going to go early and fully expected to get one of the top two when I saw I drew the 9th slot. I'd predicted going QB/RB/WR in the first three rounds based on my draft position and the make-up of the league. When Gore was still there with the 9th pick I didn't hesitate. From there I decided I would stock up on point scoring RB and grab a lesser QB by round 5 or 6. If I could have any do-overs, I think I would have opted to grab a second starting TE a little earlier and pushed back picking my first IDP (see notes below on IDP). Team Strength: RB: None of the other 16 teams has the RB depth that my team has. It seems like no matter the league you can always find some WR points on the WW when you need it, but it's rare to find any RB points in a deep league when 3rd stringers have been drafted and there are no points for return yards. LB: I saw the IDP coming off the board and patiently continued to fill my offensive slots. I still managed to grab five (roster limit max is five LB) of my top 25 LB. Team Weaknesses: DL: I was very surprised at how quickly DL came off the board and how many continued to be drafted. The top DL, Jared Allen, scored 99 points in this format last year, the 10th ranked DL scored 65, the 25th DL scored 55, and the 75th DL scored 42. After the top handful of DL came off the board, I knew I wasn't going to reach for players who will get me 3-4 points a week so waited until the very end to fill my 3 required spots. I fully expect to upgrade here through free agency and the waiver wire. DB: Again, DB went early and often and I chose to fill offense and then LB first. I still managed to nab two young safeties I had ranked in my top 10 in Berry and Chung. I went with Hall as my third starter, but am hoping Burnett turns out to be the real deal and makes my starting roster and took a flier on Whitner hoping maybe he reaches his potential this year. I will need him to cover bye weeks as well. Just like DL, there wasn't a huge drop in DB points from the 20th to the 75th ranked DB. I've played in leagues where the top IDP score near the top RB and WR, but that's not the case in this league and I drafted accordingly. Other Team Notes: QB: I list this position because there is a serious advantage to having a stud QB in this scoring format. Aaron Rodgers scored 419 points in this format last year while Matt Ryan scored 222. That's an average difference of 10 points a week that I will have to make up eleswhere if they score the same this year. WR/TE: I feel like I got only two studs at these positions. WR Marques Colston and TE Zach Miller. Yes, I am a Raider homer, but I draft to win and only take players from my team where I see value. I believe both can be near the top of their position for the season. For the rest I took some gambles: Lee Evans WR - Production slipped last year and not confident in Buffalo QB, but if I can get WR2/3 numbers from him will be okay Mike Williams (TB) WR - The more I watch preseason, the more I love this kid. He is clearly going to be WR#1 for the Tampa offense, but we are talking about Tampa Bay. Devin Hester WR - No return yards in this league, but we are talking about a Martz offense so hoping for WR3 numbers. Dexter McCluster WR - My biggest sleeper pick of the draft. I know KC has Charles and Jones at RB and Bowe at WR, but this McCluster kid is dynamic and is getting touches at both RB and WR and might even score a TD or two in returns. We don't get return yards, but any TD's scored count. He will sit on my bench until we see him in live games. Mike Thomas WR - Not so much a sleeper pick, but someone I've read quite a bit about this offseason and believe he has potential to have a solid WR3/4 type season. Tony Moeaki TE - Who? Yeah, needed another tight end and the pickings were slim. I had a choice to grab a player who's been in the league a few years and established himself as a TE3/4 type or go with a rookie who I've seen on a sleeper list or two. Last note I would like to say is great job to the commish for organizing this and to all the other managers for having such a quick and efficient draft. 30 rounds, 16 managers, 480 players taken in just over 2 hours. Let the season begin.
 4.
So happy to see this, congrats to IRON for achieving peace, and congrats to Ramlins in destroying one of the greatest alliances of all time.
I was thinking the same thing. Congrats on peace.
 5. 21 million of that 100 million they just gave him in April as part of his guaranteed bonus, if I was reading the details correctly. Haynesworth is (rightfully so) taking a lot of heat for not showing up and doing his job. I'd be pissed if I was a Redskins fan.
 6. That's what I was gonna say.
 7. Me too. The vocals are a little rough in spots, but A+ for effort.
 8. I can't believe you still post in here, Matt. Not once have you or anyone from GRE answered the simple question about what was required for peace. Sure, you've given vague hints and said an unconditional surrender could bring the end of war, but most people want to know what your definition of unconditional surrender is and the exact requirements they need to meet. You've even basically said they could just say they surrender, see what terms are, and then decide if they want to stay surrendered....lol, really? And no, I don't want to look through the pages of retarded replies and dig for quotes. I really don't care. I only stoped by because I saw Miller had 12 thwarted nukes today. Two hits for the price of 14. I had an opponent whose SDI had my number and used about 7 nukes for every actual hit, so I know what that feels like.
 9. I enjoyed it. A minion of Archon will never be freeeeeeeed.
 10. That has to be one of the worst threads ever posted. If most people really wanted to blow their stuff up randomly I'm sure they'd find a better cause. TECUMSEH, you'd be crazy to sell off infra to get into a nuke fest. The next big war is always around the corner. Save your infra until then, pick a side, and blow some stuff up. It's a heck of a lot funner when you are fighting a couple nations with a couple wingmen and coordinating anyway.
 11.
I'd say the moral is don't count on CT if you plan to fight a war, he has a history of running away.
That's the old infra-hugging CT. Since he got a taste of war and learned it was kinda fun, he's been one of the first to jump onto large nations in the last two major conflicts.
 12. Love the OP. Great stuff. If GPA had competent leadership at the helm during the onset of the War on Peace, someone who authorized nuke usage, that war would have cost the dogpile crowd dearly. Hindsight is 20/20 and Fan showed just how much damage could be done. At their peak of 1K+ nations, they had plenty of nukes and enough active members. In the months leading up to their beat-down, they lost tons of members who had zero confidence in their current leadership. Picture Emperor Fu in his prime leading the alliance. Then again, if they had an active Emperor Fu at the helm, I'm guessing most of the stuff would have been handled differently anyway. I had a great time back in my GPA days. I don't think I could last long as a nuetral these days because if there's a major war going on I want to be nuking somebody, but they had a great community and I don't regret my time spent there at all.
 13. I think this was a bold move by Gondor and the best decision GGA has made since...I dunno, can't even think of the last good decision they made. A very sincere best of luck to both alliances.
 14. Data was from 11 days ago and not from the last 8 days so am guessing he was counted in his previous alliance. If PhysicsJunky ever posts the complete data maybe we can update it all occasionally.
 15.
Not at all what we are looking for.
lol, Thomas. If admin ever announces an end to this game, I look forward to serving under our GPA overlords if they decide to make SE look like a TE version in its last days.
 16.
On a more positive note, you had me very worried, I'm glad to see this is not your retirement thread.
Exactly this. I've had a trade circle where all but one guy was over 500 days, but nothing even close to that many days. Sheesh, your trade is a couple hundred days older than my nation.
 17. I was pulling some data today and found 249 of the top 250 nations. I might have just miscounted one from one of these alliances, but this is pretty accurate I believe. 18. I had a very fun time. It could have been pretty brutal for Umbrella if LE and OP didn't jump in to help even the sides up, so big thanks for that.
 19. I just shot you a message with my email addy. I pulled some data and would like to send it to you.
 20. Congrats on your one year anniversary. From the OP, I find it quite remarkable that there wasn't an alliance available that was founded on the principles of freedom, democracy, sovereignty, openness and camaraderie where every member is highly valued and whose autonomy and independence are always respected. I'd have thought more people were into that kind of stuff.
 21.
When it rains, we all need an Umbrella at hand And LEt it rain.
Amen brother, amen.
 22.
Wrong list
I'd ask who the alliances are from this other list, but am guessing I'd get another cryptic reply so good luck with that.
 23.
IRON will be fine. Theres only like 5 active members in gRAMs anyway. I'm looking forward to the day when alliance numbered 5, 9, 15, 18 (oh especially number 18), and 22 all get whats coming to them. The clocks ticking guys.
5 - 5) World Task Force 9 - 9) Fark 15 - 15) Mushroom Kingdom 18 (oh especially number 18) - 18) RANDOM INSANITY ALLIANCE 22 - 22) Commonwealth Of Sovereign Nations That is an odd assortment of alliances to hold a grudge against.
 24.
Blustering and using long words to either lie or avoid questions doesn't count as 'handing me my filtered word'.
That is rich, Bob. You should read that to yourself daily.
