I've seen you post at-length about "order vs chaos" during this war, but I don't feel that any of your posts get to the root of the problem. People in this game have different value systems. You believe there is an underlying "order" to this world (moral, traditional, or otherwise), and believe the game should be played within those bounds. "Lulzists" (as you call them) believe in maximizing Fun Per Capita (FPC). Other value systems exist in this world as well. Is it really "mentally corrupt" for someone to maximize different values over others? Why should we value "order" over "fun"? Or perhaps I am wrong in my assessment altogether.

The thought is tempting, but we cannot willing to compromise our integrity as lulzist totalitarian anarchists by resorting to such measures. . We are principled people.

2020 USCF and a bit of teaching experience, so take this FWIW. 1.e4 e5 is the golden standard of beginner openings. King pawn and open games use a lot of the "classical" concepts taught to early players: occupying the center with pawns, developing one's pieces, castling early... etc. The moves follow naturally (i.e. 2. Nf3 Nc6 3.Bc4 Nf6 4.d4). Honestly though, openings for younger/beginner players generally don't matter nearly as much as teaching the proper opening concepts. It doesn't matter if a beginner can rattle off 10 moves of theory if they don't understand the resulting position. Just teach players how to get into an open, acceptable position and go from there.

I'm very worried about only allowing top 5% access to nukes. It makes the dominant strategy in a given round to basically not fight, buy nukes, and get more NS to stay in the top 5%. It *really* kills off a lot of incentive for people to fight early on. After all, why fight if you can risk getting shut out of the top 5% and lose access to the most powerful weapons in TE? The rest of it sounds pretty nice. Although as Auctor said, only allow larger nations to aid smaller nations.

He's the leader of an alliance that we (DoomSquad) used to protect. Unfortunately, he's a bit crazy, and has tried to recruit members from other alliances by berating them over IRC and threatening them with in-game attacks. Soooo... we don't protect him any more, and he has sworn some sort of holy revenge on us, that will fall upon DoomSquad at the end of the next Mayan Calendar. Or something.

While I rarely comment seriously on these boards, I must make an exception for this gem. Myself and my wingman hit 3 nations, including yourself. That is a 2v3 conflict, with all of our opponents having roughly ~20k NS each. You had more than a shot to hold or own. Unfortunately you singlehandedly screwed over both of your wingmen by doing nothing but turtling every day, and panic nuking 5 seconds after update every day to pad your stats and robbing your buddies out of any chance of ground-attacking us... ever. Then you heroically proclaim that you "saved your nation" in order to hit a guy half your size in this current round of wars? Give me a break buddy.

I, for one, applaud this 'brave and honourable' declaration of war.

I'm curious... do any IRON members actually think that any of this is a good political move? Or better yet, not a disastrous political move? Good diplomacy/politic is about how actions are perceived, and not how they are justified. Are IRON members blind to how most of CN views these actions?
