  1. CN as a game implies that there are not only rules as to how the game is played, but that there is a recognised way of 'winning'. While some people wish that there were a complete set of rules for international diplomacy, there is no universally-accepted set of such. And it is not something that can ever be definitively 'won', or 'lost'.

By contrast, CN has pretty damn clear rules, well-controlled parameters for nation activity. While wars are larger and more destructive in CN (if projected onto the same scale), there is almost always a war going on on Earth, somewhere. Subtract tech raiding from the equation and suddenly, this game is actually more peaceful than CN, thanks to its long periods of peace interposed with shorter periods of heavy destruction.

Re; OP - no, it's not comparable. Snowden isn't a nation. Were he a whistleblower against almost any agency other than the NSA, he wouldn't be the subject of a worldwide manhunt. When someone blows a large (and probably infamous) Alliance's spy operations in CN, they do not have a hard time finding somewhere to run. There is far less political fallout in accepting such individuals. And the US would not go to war over Snowden, either. Obama pretty much said something to that effect.

  2. I must have spent around eight hundred dollars on GW merch when I was a teenager. I even had a birthday party in a local store. Not surprised at this, it was always an expensive habit to begin with, this is just slowly killing it off. GW seems to not mind given the money it makes from franchise material like computer games. All these figurines of mine have been collecting dust for over half a decade as I realised I enjoyed the gameplay but not the need to constantly buy things to field a larger, more a competitive army.

  3. >Be RevolutionaryRebel

    >Delete RevolutionaryRebel's nation

    >Be RevolutionaryRebel

You tried hard. Very hard. You strived with all seventy IQ points to replicate the pure, unadulterated nerd-infused Waste of Time. And yet, you failed. You cannot be RevolutionaryRebel. It is impossible to be as pathetic as RevolutionaryRebel.

    Congratulations are in order.

  4. In truth, the relationship between C&G and DH isn't what is going to define future wars. The true fate of Planet Bob is intertwined in the fate of the 'Middle Powers'. A Derp rush they may be, but the chaining of MDPs via well-connected Alliances has always been the key to having history on your 'side'. Dave War appears to have hurt Goonhouse harder than their opponents, diplomacy-wise (something that has never been their strong suit) and it increasingly seems that their allies (let alone enemies) are performing far better in that field.

Will that spell their doom? I doubt it. Killing GOONS is like trying to kill a clown. And you can't keep down the clown.

  5. OP is right. Does it mean that dude is any less of a waste of time? Nope.

Actions speak louder than words in Bob, and those are what players should be judged upon. New players can and should be forgiven their mistakes, but those that are not new, and fail to be at least somewhat respectable are unlikely to gain my sympathies.

I'll let the Alliances he ghosted and ran away from decide how he should be dealt with. Acting like a sufferer of USI in the IC forums doesn't help.

  6. That style of play is indeed far older than three years. Case in point, you have the whole Moldavi Doctrine era of NPO supremacy, with the "Woodstock Massacre" being a case study for wars of occupation, which seem to be rarer nowadays, with the exception of "Overtime". Thankfully. Politics is not always about concensus, insomuch as acceptance; few liked the Moldavi Doctrine dunig its time for instance, but it was years before the political situation shifted to result in its destruction. Few probably liked DH before now; hence the current balance of alliances.

War. War never changes. Sort of.
