Transvaal World Cup III 2009 - champion Deutschland; finalist Arcadian Empire

Transvaal World Cup IV 2010

- Deadline to sign up is 11:59pm February 15, 2010

- Preliminary Pool Assignment and tournament schedules will be released February 16

- Qualification matches (depending on number of entrants) start February 17

- First Tournament matches start March 1

PRIZE MONEY

The following prize money will be awarded by the Government of Transvaal as foreign aid (any alliance surrender or war restrictions shall apply):

1st place = $3,000,000

2nd place = $2,000,000

3rd place = $1,000,000

NOTE: Transvaal's finish does not count towards prize money.

ARBITRATION

- Botha is the final arbitrator of all decisions regarding the tournament.

- FIFA2005 is the AI platform for managing and playing out the tournament.

ENTRIES

- entries are made under your in-game nation name; RP entities will not be accepted

TEAM ASSIGMENT

- pre-set stock teams in FIFA2005 will be assigned to represent your national squads.

- you pick one of the following nationalities to represent your team:

England, Scotland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Switzerland, Austria, Korea, USA, Brazil, or Mexico.

Team assigned will be determined by Botha based on your nationality selection as well as a couple of secret factors. Previous tournament participation will improve the quality of your team:

** new entrants

*** nations that participated in any 1 previous soccer tournament hosted by Transvaal

**** nations that participated in any 2 previous soccer tournaments hosted by Transvaal

***** nations which participated in all 3 Transvaal Cups

The identity of your assigned team will be revealed when the pools are announced

QUALIFICATION

The maximum number of teams that will make the actual Tournament is 32. Transvaal (host) and Deutschland (defending champions) are automatic slots. Entry will be based on previous participation, with 22 team slots going to the most senior previous participants. All other teams will then go through qualification matches for the remaining 8 team slots.

MATCH RULES

- preliminary round-robin games can end in win, loss, or draw; 3 points for a win and 1 point for a draw.

- single-game knock out games are played under Transvaal Football Union rules for deciding draws: if both teams are drawn after 90 minutes, sudden-death overtime is played for 30 minutes (2 x 15 minute periods). If still drawn after extra-time, then a shootout will follow.

NATIONALITY OF TEAM: May i also take Spain? if not Portugal will do.

Yes you may. Keep in mind these are not the national teams you'll be using, but a (uniquely assigned) club/league team from that country. So just because someone has already chosen a country doesn't mean you can't also pick it too.

This generally screws over people who pick Brazil, mistakingly thinking they are getting the outstanding Brazilian national team - when in fact they get stuck with a usually weaker club team like Vasco del Gama like someone did last year.

Can't believe it's been a year already.

LMAO I can't believe this will be the fourth cup I've organised...

Do I need to pay in order to participate?

Only if you want to... (no)

Also, all applications to this point have been accepted.

Children of Odin
Team nationality: Canada

Unfortunately the Canadians are no longer available as I had to switch game platforms last year... I recall you played a German team (which probably explains why you finished 7th instead of 2nd from last like previous years).

Anyways like to see the return of two nations which have been in every tournament since Day 1.
