2.
NTR is outraged at the stealing from your own citizens.Shame on you. OOC: Where are thou located? 3. RHODESIAN NATIONAL'S CLUB RADIO: NATIONAL PARTY FIGHTS NEW BILL CONCERNING TAXES Recently, the newly renamed Liberal Party of Rhodesia proposed a bill that would change the way taxes are collected in Rhodesia. The idea would be that the more you make, the higher percentage of your paycheck is taken for income tax. The proposition has resulted in an uproar from both the National and Conservative Parties. The National Party selected Senator Gerald Trascall of the Victoria Province to be their main speaker concerning the bill. Senator Trascall issued a statement on behalf of the Rhodesian National Party concerning the bill, which was aired on national television. "Concerning this bill, it is quite frankly a slap in the face to everything this country is working for. Have the liberal factions here forgotten 'equality under the law?' It is preposterous to expect this nation to support the pickpocketing of select members of our nation. I understand their motive, to help the disadvantaged here in Rhodesia, but I say this, can we make the decision to abandon equality and justice in order to help those, some of which don't even have the ambition to contribute to society, who would take advantage of such a system? This is blatant socialism and I will not stand for it. The National Party will not allow radicals to go around propagating such dangerous bills that could bring down the structure of this fine nation. Think of what you are asking. You are asking someone who has worked very hard to get where they are to give more than everyone else, simply because they made the most for themselves? It is outright ridiculous. The National Party will continue to support equality and fairness, everyone will pay the same percentage, and we will not allow these poisonous ideals to corrupt our nation or destroy our people." Voting will commence within the next few days and in the advent of Senator Trascall's speech, it is expected that the bill will fail.
4. "Considering the previous ruling that it would be acceptable for both Tahoe and Viniland to retain colonial holdings in the Pacific, while also considering both were Pacific states, and finally considering that Midway is being held in conjunction with all other Viniland holdings in a protectorate for the Vinilandese, we personally do not see a problem with Tahoe's retention of Midway under its protectorate. Strike at us if you will, it is merely our opinion. It will not change the proceedings, nor would we expect it to." -General Rhodes
5. I voted no simply because some people will never be made to understand or care how their actions affect others within this game which will only lead to those who do not want to get involved in countless wars to suffer the consequences of the unrealistically and overly trigger happy world that this game has evolved into.
6. RHODESIAN NATIONAL'S CLUB RADIO: FOREIGN AID INCREASES, COINCIDING WITH RESOURCE SHORTAGES Foreign aid continues to come into Rhodesia. Due to shortages of iron and wheat in the poorer north of the country, some of the foreign aid planned to go into the building of more infrastructure has been routed to relieve the northern areas due to the shortages of resources. Nevertheless, Rhodesia continues to grow and Rhodesian companies can honestly assure their shareholders abroad that business will continue as usual, and they can expect the same quality for a low price Rhodesia companies have made a name for themselves with.

8. RHODESIAN ECONOMIC FORUM RADIO: FURTHER TECHNOLOGY DEALS SPUR ECONOMY ONWARD Even in the face of steady and acceptable economic growth, General Rhodes continues to develop the national economy at a stunning rate, signing technology deals with two more nations, of the Dark Templar. Economic analysis and research predicts a major boost being imminent in the Rhodesian economy as the extra funds will come in handy battling the coal and fur shortage that have been plaguing Rhodesia for days now.
9. RHODESIAN NATIONAL'S CLUB RADIO: THREAT LEVEL; DEFCON REDUCED On the 31st of December, the national threat level was heightened to severe and the DEFCON was raised to 1. They have since been lowered to peacetime norms. The government has yet to comment on why both were raised in the first place. Speculators and conspiracy theorists have thus far been unable to come up with anything worthy of mention, as nothing has leaked to give anyone any sort of lead concerning the situation. HOMOSEXUAL ACTIVITY BANNED; PRIME MINISTER MAKES STATEMENT CONCERNING THE BAN AND RHODESIAN CONSERVATISM In an unsurprising move, the Senate ratified a bill banning any and all homosexual activity within the nation. Domestic news stations were in a flurry at the news nonetheless, as the story made breaking news. Domestic opinion is heavily in favor of the ban, while the government is expecting heavy international backlash concerning the new laws. The Prime Minister issued a statement regarding the bill. "We understand that the world today is moving into a more liberal way of thinking overall, that is of course excluding bastions of conservatism, but by and large we can see it happening. This is in no way a move to shock or awe the world, this has nothing to do with the international political arena, but I feel it necessary to address the quandry regardless. This was a move that was supported by the populace completely and thoroughly and it is our right to make such a policy when it has overwhelming support, though we have seen over the past month that some may claim otherwise. What needs to be understood about Rhodesia is that while we are not a theocracy, our founding values are solidly linked to those of the Christian way of life. That is also to say, Rhodesia practices freedom of religion, though our national one is Christianity, which is understandable considering the vast majority of our populace is Christian. We want the world to understand the Rhodesia loves its established way of life. The people here support the Christian morality of the state and the policies it is setting forth. So many times in this day and age it seems like people jump to the conclusion that a conservative government is against the will of the people, when in fact that is not the case in Rhodesia. We are not against advancement, but we are in support of maintaining the happy lives of our citizens, which falls in line with conservative ideals and policy. We would be unpatriotic to say that we don't take pride in it, we believe conservatism is the best ideal out there, but we will always make it clear that we have no intention of forcing such an ideology on anyone else who did not wish it." -Prime Minister Edward Dawson
10. Hey now, I'll have you know that I pronounce that first 'nun' before the 'g' in my head every time!
11. RHODESIAN NATIONAL'S CLUB RADIO BROADCAST: RUNNING PROTESTS REMAIN FRUITLESS Recently, activists have been organizing protests against current government policy, criticizing the current administration of Rhodesia for not establishing an Earth Day for the nation, as well as voraciously expanding industrial production and expansion. After several days of arguments between Rhodesian Green Peace representatives and officials from the Rhodesian Ministry of the State, General Rhodes issued an official statement regarding the matter during an annual update to the Senate. "The next item concerns the recent activism regarding the establishment of an Earth Day and the halting of industrial output and growth within our nation. To the organization know as Rhodesian Green Peace, I sent an official letter stating what I am about to tell you. I cannot give in to the demands of this group, now or in the forseeable future. First and foremost, the establishment of an Earth Day would only serve to be a drain economically, without having any substantial benefit for our environment. As for the halting of industrial expansion and output, this is of course impossible. Rhodesia has been experiencing a boom as of late while we establish connections with the outside world. Numerous business opportunities have come our way because of our current economic policy and plan. For now, it is essential for us to increase our industrial output and expand our industrial base, as we continue to grow. This will continue to lead to more capital for citizens and this government, allowing us to further modernize our nation. What's more, I have established a committee to investigate and research predictions for how our policy will effect our environment. This committee has yet to find any detriment to the environment from our current industrialization plans our any growth in our output. Now, I do not believe I need remind this legislature of the dangers of this liberal thinking. If we had given in to these ill-advised protesters, we would stagnate, and our growth and modernization would come to a stand still. Stay the course gentlemen." Following Rhodes' address, overseas shares of Rhodesian companies increased, creating a small increase in the Rhodesian domestic market immediately, even as the domestic economy continues to grow. However, Rhodesian Green Peace activists say they will not give up their mission on the establishment of an Earth Day, although protests and formal missives to the government have dropped in number and frequency considerably.
12. OOC: Sorry this took so long for me to post in again, Holidays. IC: Labor Camp, Undisclosed Location Captain Price entered the building he had been ordered to go to. It was a simple building, made out of concrete blocks with a metal roof, a single fan spinning in the middle of the ceiling inside. There were only two lights, making the interior slightly dimmer than outside. The only thing within the room was a table, maps laid out all over its surface. There were some men in suits, some men in high ranking military uniforms. Then there was a woman, who spoke first, "Captain Price, good to see you sir." She walked around the table and shook his hand. It was the Minister of the State, Annelie van der Berg, which in Rhodesia meant she was in charge of all matters of internal affairs. Price returned the handshake, "Good to see you Minister. What seems to be the problem? Men in suits and officer's uniforms don't really show up here unless there is a problem." She looked uncomfortable, "You are...more right than you know, Captain." She turned and walked back to the table with the maps, he followed. "This morning, at roughly 2 a.m., one of our patrols stopped a vehicle heading through the Bush. The patrol that stopped him reported that he was smuggling drugs. The officer was then knocked unconscious, while another soldier was shot, though he did survive. The culprit then went on to crash just outside of the camp. Captain, the government has never gone on record about our little camp here. No one can know, so here is what we are proposing. You find this man, you will be rewarded. You used to be one of the Selous Scouts, did you not? You're our best option here." Captain Price took this all in, "Will I be working alone, or with a team?" "Whichever you want." "I'll go alone." "As you wish. Here are the details..." Van der Berg went on to explain all the details. Just after 12 noon, Captain Price set out. He noticed the tree where the wreck had happened and surveyed the ground. There were apparent footprints. Whoever this was, they would be no match for his tracking skills.
13. RHODESIAN NATIONAL'S CLUB RADIO: GOVERNMENT PUTS NEW MEASURES IN PLACE Livingstone, Rhodesia The government today has approved many measures to guard the country from a now unnamed threat. "The national DEFCON has been raised and our threat level is severe. The police and military will be keeping a careful watch on everything that is going on. As of right now, we cannot elaborate further." -General Rhodes People can only speculate as to what is happening. Approval ratings for the Prime Minister and President are hovering at what they were right now, as citizens wait with apprehension as to what is going to happen. Regional and local officials are telling the population to "stay calm and trust that the issues are being handled."
14. "I believe those are good points, yes. We'll have our Selous Scouts cooperate with our SAS to form our Special Forces Detachment, as the Scouts were previously planning on training with Transvaler units of the same nature. Just so that we can also teach our officers, perhaps they could detail their defense plans to Tahoan officers to gain critique before the battle? That way they are learning for themselves while receiving constructive criticism and helpful information, would you agree to that?" Major General Campling replied.
