Further more, my IC beliefs apply to territory I either own or directly protect/influence. True, it was a white minority ruled nation, and the white-dominated National Party was always in charge, but there wasn't a large degree of segregation, whether institutionalized or cultural. Transvaal was based on apartheid-era South Africa but I don't recall there ever being any repression, race riots, etc. on any scale that would've warranted Arctica's attention (as many other things did). I doubt Botha would be shortsighted enough to bring that into his RP and get hounded by everybody. Instead, the major issue was their treatment of the communists. Such things like "other" religions, homosexuals, and of course the communists made up the vast majority of any repression on Transvaal's part. Liberal Arctica would have taken notice if something like that happened. Just respecting the vote in the former joint territory putting the communists in charge gave us lots of RP opportunity, so I sure would have remembered if there was anything racial of a similar scale. Transvaal was moderate enough as those types go and Arctica helped moderate that through pressure, and since the Staatspresident was sensible enough. I just want to set the record straight there. However, I was told quite clearly and directly any attempt to attack Botha would have resulted in a beat down so profound that my ancestors would feel it. The premise for that beat down being the profound ooc love for Botha and so forth that numerous members of the CNRP community felt for his esteemed person.
