  1. The only problem I had was you could have sent at least a PM.
  2. The Golden Khanate would be happy to be a member of the Imperial Commonwealth.
  3. The people of Southern Turkestan, while living in prosperity under the rule of the Great Khagan, but they felt a certain emptiness within. Yes, Tianxia was good to them, but perhaps because of the very prosperity they wanted something more: Complete independence, with close ties to the Khagan. To this end a movement started for the establishment of the "Golden Khanate", a republic with a Khanate elected to terms. From the Caspian to Tashkent, a petition was signed and sent to the Khagan.
  4. "We surrender to this Nozi-class invasion."
  5. Is there any progress on this matter?
  6. We thank Russia for its notice of the withstanding issues.
  7. Emma van Buren, Noord-Uniestaat Head of the Department of Foreign Affairs, had been looking for an excuse to visit Tianxia. With the Union visit at work cleansing the scars of the Nozi violations, it was really up to her to bring things out of isolation. This invitation was the perfect setting for such effort. Aside from her secretary, she arrived virtually alone. She'll look for a chance to speak to the Tianxia officials for a separate conference after all this was over.

  11. I'll only support such a reform if we have a reset.
  12. The Otter Returns to the Randstad For the first time in decades, an otter has been spotted living in the central Dutch urban belt known as the Randstad. The otter was recorded on a camera near the Nieuwkoopse Plassen, an area of lakes and marsh between Amsterdam and Rotterdam. The otter is thought to have died out in Nederland during the brutal rule of the criminal Nozi regime, but since the establishment of Noord-Uniestaat there has been a program to reintroduce them in the north of Nederland. A spokesman for the natural heritage group Natuurmonumenten said the return of the otter shows the water in the Nieuwkoopse Plassen is of good quality. ‘The otter is at the top of the food chain and the fact he is back says something about the quality of the nature,’ the spokesman said. The cameras were placed because feces had been spotted in the area which experts thought may have come from an otter.
  13. Not sure why there is a discussion on brand names, but I try to avoid the issue by stating as if I developed my own weapons.

Oost-Indisch Huis, Amsterdam Into a simple yet rich room entered seventeen individuals. From various backgrounds, all of them sent at the comfortable green seats, taking out what materials were needed for the issues at hand. After the soft sounds of preparation ended, the girl at the head stood up, upon which it was silence. It was time for business. With the reestablishment of Vereenigde Oostindische Compagnie (VOC), this historical house was once again in use. The Heeren XVII (the Lords Seventeen), the regents of the East India Company, have come together to hold a meeting on the path that the great company was to go on. Noord-Uniestaat was one of the major economic powers of the world, and the general peace of the world provided the fertile grounds in which to expand. The motto "We cannot carry on trade without war, nor war without trade" would be upheld, be it through money or power. "As we all know by now, the "small" conflict between Koninklijke Nederlandsche and Statoil has caught the attention of a specific target we had in mind for some time. With our control over both corporations and the related government ministries, it is only a matter of whether we can sweeten the deal enough for the other side to cooperate with our places in Europe. This will be the stepping stone on which we shall truly expand our fortunes while driving growth for all related parties. Perhaps, this will be how we gain a counterweight." With this short introduction, the strategy meeting started.
  16. All of my suggestions have been bringing down the top and bringing up the bottom. I'm currently thinking Vietnam War as floor and Current as ceiling. A Gulf War era nation can fight a Current Era nation to a standstill on the defensive assuming similar numbers. With the current scale, that's not really possible at all, never mind the gap in tactics.
  17. There are only two ways CNRP might be more "equal" and "open": 1. Reduce the technology gap by restricting the top technology to current days (and scale it accordingly). 2. Enforce a penalty on "overextension" of territory (however you define it). Unfortunately, neither would ever be passed unless we have at least 2/3s agreeing to it.
  18. Noord-Uniestaat recognizes Great Britain and hopes that old relationships can be continued.
  19. Competition Between Oil Giants Heats Up As the development of Noordzee (North Sea) and Barentszzee (Barents Sea) oil fields continues, various disagreements between the two main oil companies of Noord-Uniestaat have led to lawsuits. Koninklijke Nederlandsche of Nederland and Statoil of Norge have become embroiled in a range of court actions as each seeks to become the dominant producer. With the oil fields of Noord-Uniestaat falling under the control of the Union State instead of just Norge, this had led to resentment on part of Statoil which seeks to hold a monopoly over the Norge part of the reserves. After various attempts to keep Koninklijke Nederlandsche from entering the market, a storm has broken out in the courts, which the respective state governments and union executive are trying to settle as soon as possible. Currently, Noord-Uniestaat holds a bit less than 70% of oil reserves and more than 75% of gas reserves of Noordzee in its respective sector, which had been outlined by the Athens during the establishment of Noord-Uniestaat based on the old national limits of exclusive economic zones. As exploitation in other sectors have driven down the reserves to all time lows, Noord-Uniestaat kept production down both as an incentive to develop alternative sources and to keep profits up. It is believed that there is some resentment from outside on how generous Athens has been to Noord-Uniestaat, but with sovereign rights, such long term planning combined with the large reserves have generated much profits to the Noord economy.
  20. Isn't this the same old topic we now have every now and then? Let's face it, unless people are willing to pass changes, we're going to just have this fizzle out.
  21. Noord-Uniestaat wishes the best for the new University, and hopes that there may be exchanges between the universities of our respective nations.
  22. Ecstasy Pills Found in Europe's Biggest Drugs Raid The police have pulled off one of the biggest synthetic drug hauls Europe has seen, seizing sixty million ecstasy pills with a street value of ƒ1.3 billion, prosecutors announced. In what was described as "extraordinary" cover, the main laboratory operated from a quiet, isolated farm that also raised livestock and sold vegetables to unsuspecting locals. During 30 raids all over Noord-Uniestaat, 11 people were under arrest charged with possession, production and trading in drugs as part of a criminal gang, the prosecutor's office said. "It is the biggest such bust ever in Belgium and one of the largest in Europe," said Wenke Roggen, spokesperson for the federal prosecutor's office. "It is quite incredible." The suspects were described as "very dangerous, armed and well-organised". Products seized included around a thousand kilograms of MDMA and 18.5 tons of ecstasy precursor safrole, Miss Roggen said. The criminal organisation comprised individuals of non-Noord nationality who were under a work permit. In all there were enough ingredients to create sixty million ecstasy pills. The drugs laboratories were part of a "very well-organised" criminal operation that has been "going on for a number of years" and seems to be connected to the Nordic Socialist movement. More than half the drugs – enough to make thirty-six million tablets – were found at a Vlaanderen farm near the city of Voeren, making it the biggest synthetic drug laboratory discovered in Europe. Men with masks and biohazard suits could be seen on Friday shifting plastic vats of drugs at the site. "There was an extraordinary mise en scène in this farm," said the mayor of Voeren. "The front part of the agricultural domain looked just like any other typical farm of this region, while at the back was this laboratory. It is a shock that our region was at the centre of such an important production of illegal products." Police said the criminals had carefully chosen the site because housing was "very scarce" and thus they were unlikely to be troubled. Authorities had to evacuate some people around the area of the plant where the drugs were produced. A sixty-year old man had been living at the farm with his partner for almost a decade but had very little contact with locals apart from via the sale of their produce. Both were arrested. Drugs were also seized at a suburban Brussel garage and at an undisclosed location in Nederland. The sting operation took place after a vast inquiry lasting several months, police said. What currently worries the authorities is the possible connection of this synthetic drug operation to the Nordic Socialist movement, which currently has a large presence in the Staten-Generaal. With all the pain that the criminals caused for the people of Noord-Uniestaat, it is necessary to keep a guard against the return of the Nozis, which would bring a new dark era.
  23. Return of Prinsenvlag After an overwhelming vote within the Staten-Generaal, the state flag of Nederland has been decided as the Prinsenvlag. The historical background of the transition from orange to the more common red was an interaction of conflicts between various factions, ultimately leading to the usurping of the Prinsenvlag by fascists. This unfortunate situation led the upholders of freedom to a Order in Council decreeing that the colors of the flag of the Kingdom of the Netherlands are red, white and blue, thus resulting in the Koninkrijksvlag. However, the situation has changed, with the illegitimate Nordic Socialist occupiers destroying virtually all fascist movements except for itself. This has removed the social stigma attached to the Prinsenvlag, leading to its rise in popularity. In addition, the belief that the use of red, which had basis in anti-Orange sentiment in the past and was an important color of Nordic Socialism, is a symbol of collaboration became widespread. In an ironic situation, the fascists have made legitimate a formerly fascist symbol. The Prinsenvlag was now the spirt of Nederland, and with the incorporation of orange into the national flag of Noord-Uniestaat, there was no more burden for the one true flag of Nederland to carry. Emma van Buren, one of the most important founders of Noord-Uniestaat and current Voorzitter van de Tweede Kamer der Staten-Generaal, commented at the passing of the bill, "The people of Nederland have truly regained their true legacy. No more shall we be under the yoke of the evil minority, with a newborn freedom rising up from the ashes. This is just the first step in the reclamation of our true place."
