Eh, wipe Argentina from the map. This dinosaur needs to move on.

Just want to put it here for future reference: If I make a mistake in a war post due to not understanding some fancy technology, then use my mistake! If I say I set up a radar system that doesn't work, then it does work. If I fired missiles at something that doesn't exist, then I guess those missiles just got fired at a ghost. I'd rather have a smoother running IC RP where I get my ass kicked, than something where I have to go and edit major chunks of posts due to OOC misunderstandings.

There was little to nothing the Argentinian air force could do to something going that fast, though with the application of passive radar they certainly knew it was there. Radar operators could do nothing but shrug and accept the fact that the enemy could see them. Even if they COULD have shot down the drone, satellite imagery would have simply made their life hell anyway. The A.A.G. did however, move SAM missiles sites around, and deploy more inflatable decoys. To make matters more confusing, additional S-300 vehicles were brought in from warehouses, where they had been waiting for missiles to be produced; however, they weren't loaded, their missiles tubes empty. But unless the enemy had Superman's ability to see through solid objects, it would be impossible to tell these unloaded sites apart from the normal ones. The Hellenic Air Force would find that the majority of the A.A.G. was not on its runways, but in the air, with around 240 of its 300 aircraft assigned to the EEZ or Falklands still operational. The main casualty was the 5 squadrons of Interceptador-1 aircraft stationed on the Falklands, which given the lack of bombers detected, had been in their hangars. The rest in the air consisted of 10 squadrons of Interceptador-1, and 10 of L/A-1. These aircraft would do their job, even if it meant their death, and engage the enemy aircraft in a combination of missile and gunfighter tactics, the Interceptadors trying to use their high speed to get in close and personal. The training from the combination naval/air war games which had occupied these pilots beforehand would now be tested. Many of the missiles would hit, though the majority of the "military facilities" on the Falklands were spread out and hidden in such a way to make such saturation difficult. The large battleship-like turrets guarding the ports were destroyed fairly easily, through the deployment of Chaff and infrared-disrupting beams and smoke would mean it would take more than one missile. When the barrage stopped, the SONAR and radar networks would try to find the enemy ships, and if they were within 500km, shore-based launchers would unleash their deadly BrahMos anti-ship missile payloads. Finally, in what many deemed a suicide mission, 60 Beriev A-40 aircraft would come in low over the water, and spread across several hundred kilometers, towards the enemy ships, while the interceptors and air-superiority fighters of the A.A.G. fought hard to distract the enemy airforce. When they reached a range of around 11km, they would fire their air-dropped versions of the VA-111 Sckval Torpedo, targeting the battleships specifically with about 180 of them. To try and help the others escape back home for refueling and rearmament, a third of these massive aircraft would attempt to crash into the enemy ships at full speed, their pilots singing the national anthem of Argentina over their radios, broadcasting across all bands, as they gave their lives for their countrymen. These bombers would have no trouble launching their payloads, their missiles striking the VHF unmanned towers with accuracy and ease. The local power grids which powered these towers were also easily shut down, with Block Wardens quickly setting up backup generators and coordinating the non-combatants in the area into what were deemed safer areas. A few would mark these "safe" areas by painting red crosses on the roofs, hoping that their enemy wouldn't attack unarmed targets. The A.A.G. quickly set out to replace these VHF radar sets, but placed them further inland, with orders to only activate to paint targets detected by the passive systems. EDIT: OOC: Hey guys, if I make a mistake, just ignore it. I don't enjoy the idea of getting bogged down in OOC just because I'm not well-read on some technology system. I'm a geology major, I know rocks. I'd rather have a smoother RP w/ some inaccuracies than get into a OOC thing w/ rewrites and such.

OOC: I'll respond to the war post when I have a little more free time to do actual thinking. This post is just internal political BS. IC: An emergency session of the Political Assembly Legislature has been called, via various phone calls to members. All members are to report to the Buenos Aires Palace for a meeting concerning the war. Given that these are just normal politicians, they attend via cars and limousines. A Curfew has been declared, and Block Wardens have been given their instructions of how to calmly evacuate and maintain order in case of failure of government instruction, power loss, or bombing attacks on non-combatants. Since the civilian bunker network was FAR from complete, the decision was made to convert these into emergency medical facilities in case hospitals were destroyed. Private to De Juagari: "Until their forces actual move into Argentina, we have no idea where they will strike. As such, we suggest Chilean forces stay on standby if their goal to aid Argentina. Aid in air superiority would be appreciated, however."

Cent, just gave your post a quick look, and I have some easy questions: Are your ships, HNS Heraklion and HNS Patras, within the Argentine Sea? [Classified] To counter stealth, two operations were undertaken. First, Operation Focus; the placement of lightweight, unmanned VHF radar towers near cities and along the coast of Argentina, plugged into the normal power grid and the Emergency communication lines. Secondly, Operation Hoary; the placement of passive radar receivers around cities, along the coast, and near power and military installations, utilizing bistatic geometry and anti-stealth waveforms. This information is to be fed into the existing S-300 platforms using the existing A.A.G. landline network. Decoy S-300 systems are to be deployed as well.

The Democratic-Ubersteinian Republic of Argentina condemns this invasion and recognizes a state of war through the South American Accords. Foreign aggression into South America cannot be allowed. [Classified] All military forces are to be on high alert. The 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 5th Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Division, and 13th Infantry Division, all have been placed on mobile-defensive alert, given the lack of quick access to Venezuela to fight. These forces and their attached armor have been deemed Task Force 1. The 8th Infantry Division has been ordered to move from Uruguay to the Buenos Aires province. Task Force 1 has moved to the Rio Negro province. Radio silence has been adopted by all ground forces, relying instead on the special land-line network and infrared-laser communication. The 10th and 11th infantry divisions have been ordered to assign guerrilla warfare tasks to their squads in case communication from high command stops. The A.A.G. is to start around-the-clock patrols with it's appropriate fixed-wing aircraft, meaning all aircraft except the IA 58 COIN aircraft. The Naval Defense Network is on full alert. Both have orders to use VHF radar as well as the normal systems. The use of passive, bistatic geometry, radar with anti-stealth waveforms has started. EDIT: I missed a division, sorry.

The South American United Charity Front has recently doubled its volunteer work force in the South American Protectorate with the recent community service requirement imposed at all universities. Smaller charities and government organizations have also seen a flush of free labor, but recent polls have shown that nearly 73% of university students sign up with the S.A.U.C.F. for their mandatory month of service. To celebrate this new wave of volunteers, the S.A.U.C.F. is holding its third major donation drive. In other news, the Political Assembly has successfully outlawed the death penalty, which several humanitarian organizations have marked as a great step forward to a more socially progressive government. President Otero personally endorsed the second portion of the law, which has changed the majority of sentences to time in servitude to the state, stating, "These criminals will be rehabilitated through hard work, proper education, and shall repay their debt to society. No longer shall they sit in a cell and brood."

With the realization that the Paraguay situation is entirely internal and will not spill over to Argentinian soil, all forces have been ordered back to non-alert status; however, 10 squadrons of IA 58 aircraft have been assigned to the Corrientes & Formosa Provinces, and another 10 to the Salta & Misiones Provinces, for concentrated border patrol. This is to ensure that no destabilizing elements from Paraguay enter Argentina. The following forces are to engage in helicopter-deployment training and wargames: 3rd Infantry Division, 4th Infantry Division, 5th Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Division, and 13th Infantry Division. Their attached armored forces are as listed: 2nd Armored Attachment- 4th Infantry Division, 3rd Armored Attachment- 5th Infantry Division, 5th Armored Attachment- 7th Infantry Division. The A.A.G. is to provide the necessary amount of Mil Mi-17 Helicopters. 25 Squadrons of L/A-1 are to be stationed in the Argentinian National Assembly, 20 in the Mapuche National Assembly, and 5 in the Falklands National Assembly. Another 25 squadrons of L/A-1 are to participate in the war games, as well as 5 squadrons of A-10 aircraft. 10 Squadrons of A-10 are to be stationed both in the Argentinian National Assembly as well as the Mapuche National Assembly. 5 Squadrons of Interceptador-1 are to be stationed in the Buenos Aires Province, and 5 squadrons placed on general standby in the Argentinian National Assembly. This fully accounts for the full A.A.G. fixed-wing combat inventory.

Doesn't an action only take place once you RP it? It's like how you can't make a post in your factbook and have it be RP without making an RP post as well. Assets wouldn't even be in place to spy unless RP'd to be in place.

[Classified] All wireless communication of highly classified movements and operations are to cease, and tapping-sensitive landlines are to be installed in a comprehensive network to allow communication to all airbases, military facilities, and government facilities. There are to be four separate networks: A.L.S.G., A.A.G., Emergency, and Government. Hubs at heavily fortified airbases are to be used for connection between A.L.S.G. and A.A.G. networks. These landlines are made tap-sensitive by being housed within segmented pipes which are pressurized. If a drop in pressure is read anywhere along the pipe, armed response and maintenance teams are sent out to where the pressure fell. The only radio traffic to be continued is that between field officers and their appropriate command posts. Everything is also to be backed up with physical copies, including separately stored disks and hard copy documents, on both the senders and receivers end.

A large compliment of the S-300 SAM System has been shipped to the Falklands Islands for set up. Starburst MANPADS platforms are to be added to the 380mm naval gun turrets. The combined SONAR-RADAR network is to be tested with various launches and firings for the next week, to ensure the various weapons of the system can work with the early-working network quickly and effectively. These tests are to be timed as to avoid civilian traffic. Construction of various sea walls and minefields similar to those originally used on the Brazil-Argentina Line (Armed by buried land-line by local commanders) along the coast of Argentina and the Falklands has begun, in order to impede and delay amphibious deployments. 5 squadrons of Interceptador - 1 aircraft have been moved to the Falklands. 10 Squadrons have been tasked with anti-aircraft EEZ patrol.

Maldonado would happily sign the treaty, as it was a nice compromise that didn't tie the Argentinians into a conflict, yet allowed them to help their ally. As a gift for the signing of the treaty, several S-300 SAM systems would be sent to the Zulians. However, at the same time, with their job nearing completion, the Argentinian forces in Zulia would slowly start to be shipped home. The two squadrons from the A.A.G. would remain for awhile longer, as the Zulians still needed pilot training, but with the mass completion of bases and training of soldiers, it was deemed that a full infantry division was no longer necessary in Zulia.

"I wouldn't underestimate 1960s equipment, though it would be best to try and move you up to perhaps the late 70s. If anything, Argentina can directly supply some of the more vital equipment that doesn't need to be as widely used, such as Surface-to-air missiles and aircraft. Meanwhile, over the next few weeks, Dr. Pereya's team would review the economic situation in Uruguay, and come up with a list of what the nation could do to get ahead. [Classified] Due to the alarming events in Paraguay, the A.L.S.G. and A.A.G. have begun preemtive movements. The following forces are also given priority for supply. 1st Infantry Division & 3rd Infantry Division in Formosa have started preparations for offensive action. 4th Infantry Division & 2nd Armored Attachment have moved from Chaco to Formosa to prepare for offensive action. 2nd Infantry Division, 7th Infantry Division, 1st Armored Attachment, & 5th Armored Attachment in Corrientes have started preparations for offensive action. 13th Infantry Division is moving to Corrientes to prepare for offensive action. The A.A.G. has also moved 25 squadrons of L/A-1 aircraft to active patrol with full armament in the Formosa and Corrientes provinces. 5 Squadrons of A-10 aircraft have also been assigned to on-alert status, but not active patrol.

Argentina intended no offense, we merely wish to ensure that proper election procedure is followed so that no local populations are taken advantage of.

The Democratic-Ubersteinian Republic of Argentina is alarmed at the recent Peruvian movements into the Protectorate, and demands that a proper election be held immediately.

"The Democratic-Ubersteinian Republic of Argentina is always open to more dipomatic partners in the world, especially in South America. You must understand, however, that we cannot go signing military pacts without a care in the world. Your nation is already in a very delicate situation, and the government of Argentina has a responsibility to avoid war if possible. We've been paying attention to your...territorial issues, and feel that if we were to sign a military treaty in the current situation, we would have major political problems." He paused and asked an aide for a glass of cold water, "Were that situation to change, perhaps by the Zulian government backing down on its claims on another nation's sovereign territory, then I would be happy to arrange a mutual defense pact between our nations, and perhaps even authorize the movement of another division into Zulia for defensive and training purposes. The partial modernization of the Zulian air force could also happen quite easily. My point is, Mr. Ramirez, is that treaties are an investment, and Argentina needs to know that Zulia is willing to work towards peace, and won't be the aggressor if a conflict were to break out. "

In order to ensure the safety of the populace, a national advisement program has been established, as well as safety routines and evacuation plans. All cities and towns will have Block Wardens, who are trained in basic safety procedures and in the evacuation plans. The purpose of this program is to ensure that the populace knows what to do and will be safe during any natural or man-made disaster. Construction of regional emergency shelters has also begun, which are to be a mixture of below and above ground structures. All are to be clearly marked so that they can be seen as purely civilian structures from the air. [Classified] War Games between the A.A.G. and the Chilean Navy have ended, with much learned on each side. The Chileans have stated that the CNS Captain Longmember and 2 destroyers will be there to assist with naval work and training. Development of the VA-111 Sckval type torpedo to compliment current naval defenses has begun.
