1.
that still does not justify what she put on the forums for us to be greeted by
Honestly, if you had 2 weeks warning, and still didn't move your DB, then you were asking for it.
2.
Ok everyone.... They are not an Alliance anymore! I believe NEW can raid them but they should have at least waited a day or two to jump on them.
There was a statement of protection, period. I hope, and expect, DF's allies to react to this. Especially Int, I know Cata very well, and I imagine he is warming up the missles.
3.
yep, just ask NSO about a mask mistake. i could have sworn NSO's mask mistake made them laughed at, yet now we have VE making an even worse mask mistake (6 months compared to a couple of days) and all those who insulted NSO are saying that VE did nothing wrong. that is amusing. VE should probably admit they $%&@ed up and let Was go, especially since there would be no logs from a Skype Voice chat that could substantiate anything. so VE has no proof of this crime except for a he said, she said. what VE does have is a huge mistake in their masking methods. 6 months is a long time to leave someone masked. i have never known any alliance that incompetent.
I agree with everything my ally has said here. I have a lot of respect for VE and their members, but I think you guys made a mistake here.
4.
GW3 was never in doubt, and is why I don't personally consider it a GW. The good alliances of The League were beaten in GW2, and LUE never really got peace from it, so we never had a chance to rebuild. LUE, NAAC, ICP were the good alliances, and us not being in fighting shape pretty much doomed our side in "GW3". Legion and ODN joining in GW2 might have helped us pull it out, but they were never going to be the backbone of an effective coalition. Some might include GATO in the good alliances category for GW2, but they were pretty !@#$ by that time IIRC. Making fun of NpO for being Diet NPO and then GATO being our Brown Colony was pretty funny.
GATO was pretty out of it for gw2. We didn't end up taking a huge amount of damage because the war was so short, but we had no real coordination or planning. A lot of people declared willy-nilly, while 5-10 of our newer military people tried to get people to work together. Some of our military leaders (Walford primarily) actually suggested NOT to have a warchest because you could steal funding from your attackers! This worked ok on the ground without nukes, but aircraft had just introduced, so some people got absoltuely flattened by TOP nations who were much more prepared. Funny enough, if we had gone nuclear GATO may have fared better, because so many people declared 3 offensive wars. Overall lack of warchests makes that a tricky subject though, because most people wouldn't have lasted very long.. The timing was unfortunate though, a few of our MOD members (myself included) had just enrolled in the NAAC OTS courses, and given a little time to implement what we learned, may have had a dramatic effect on our performance. ODN and Legion joining may have helped also. That would have caused more parties to enter on both the League and Initiative war fronts, and could have made that war truely gigantic.
5.
I'd forgotten about IvanElTerrible singlehandedly defeating GATO. Hell, I was on GATO's side of it and even I thought it was hilarious/pathetic.
I was in GATO, it was hilarious. Also, they wouldn't let me declare on Ivan, instead they sent 3 people who couldn't put him in anarchy.
6.
Just wanted to say that anyone who thinks Synergy will just be another GUARD-like bloc, sitting around accomplishing nothing of note. . .is mistaken. You see, not EVERYONE with power and influence likes to wave it in front of everyone's face, or likes to 'do stuff' to demonstrate they have power and influence.
I'm as big a Synergy fan as probably any that exist (GATO and IAA are basically my two favorite alliances in CN,) but Synergy doesn't really have much power or influence as far as blocs are concerned. None of the alliances that make it up are very proactive in terms of guiding CN. You all are great friends, and very loyal, but you won't be influencing any major events for a long time.
7.
Whether or not he was a member when he stole the aid is irrelevent. You said that he isn't anymore and he wont be protected if MK wishes to go try and get their 3m back by force. Isn't removing the person from the alliance normally enough? I don't see where this 15m & 250 tech comes from or why NSO members should be paying it. It's not like NSO gov. told this guy to take the money from MK, wait until some members of the circle were 20 days inactive, then cancel. Although, it would be hilarious if they had. Trade circles go wrong all the time, what's next? Start charging alliances because you paid one of their members for a harbor and 25 days later that nation no longer exists?
I agree with this statement. Asking for the 3m or to recover the money from the nation by force, fine. Asking for 15m-250t? Since when did we start paying losses on canceled trade deals?
8. 1 Dragon's Call 653 13.86% 2 Cyber Nations 634 13.46% Voted, and getting closer.
9. Hah, I suggested in the PB thread that GATO should drop VE, which I got chastised for. Funny how things turn out.
10.
GATO should just throw away good friends so the rest of us can argue back and forth who was right. That makes absolutely no sense. I love you Krabs, but this comment was just stupid.
Yea I rescind my comment. Completely forgot about the Athens-PC MADP, so omni just killed my argument on irc. Apologies to PB members, good luck to you all I guess.
11. I personally like VE, and a lot of their members. However, I have a pretty strong dislike for most of the other members of this bloc, minus FOK, who I'm neutral on. If PB wants to make things interesting, they should drop all their outside PB treaties. That'll never happen though, so CN looks like it just got even more boring for the future. Edit: Also, if GATO has any balls left, I would expect them to cancel on VE.
12. Has anyone figured out how this is being scored? Also, GATO with Magic and Sarysus at least have two very experienced fighters for their top 2 nations. Personally, unless he is really inactive, I probably would have picked LR to fight.
13. Nothing significant will happen.
14. I'm pretty sure GATO had over 500 members in the gw2-gw3 era.
15.
I see another Unjust war, where GOONs crap get them disbanded again
One can only hope.
16. I will remain respectful and simply wish Sparta good luck with their new gov't.
17. I would like to nominate Laserwolf of GATO. During his six-month tenure GATO underwent one the longest periods of stability in its existence. Laser is one of the kindest persons I have ever met in CN, and is incredibly sincere in his actions and words. He is a gifted leader and incredibly competent diplomat. I can't think of many people I would rather have leading my alliance than the good wolf with guns. Edit: GARO is in no way affiliated with GATO, just wanted to make that clear to everyone.
18. To be fair to legion these logs are pretty old. However, I remember this vividly as a member of GATO at the time it happened, and I still applaud Magic for threatening to turn Legion's world upside down if they tried something. Watch your back Clock, like Magic said, they might still come after you now that you aren't in GATO.
19. I havent read the whole thread yet, but what did you think of working with GATO against TSO? Did GATO perfom better/worse than you expected?
20. IAA, by far and away. When we told them we were about to get rolled in GATO-1v, and asked that they didn't enter, they flat out refused. They were in 100% and I have never seen more reliable allies. CSN comes in a very close second, though I cannot comment on their common day bonds, as I don't know them all that well anymore.
21. If only you had enough political clout to make GOONS pay. Unfortunately, I see them getting off lightly, despite the fact that they are a terrible alliance who aren't worth the friends they have.
22. This is a pretty damn good gov. Laser is one of the better individuals running around bob, and DP and Mighty are of the finest kind.
23. 1. No, it's pretty easy to get a protectorate. 2. Probably not directly, but it's a large factor.
