  1. I'd like to congratulate Xiphosis on yet another invective of pure BS. Repetition of lies won't ever convert them into the truth, so sorry.

I know little about Bastion. I was out of activity for medical reasons between February and April of 2009. However, I can tell you that what you're saying about Hangout is nonsense; and I bet that what you're saying about Bastion is total BS also. From what others who were involved are saying, I'm thinking that I'm correct in that.

Fact is that the Karma War began very soon after the Hangout was finalized, and we didn't want to rush into signing onto the bloc before a major war. Fact is that we were still part of Q until just before the war. Fact is that once the war's results were a foregone conclusion, FARK and Umbrella weren't very interested in it either; I remember Ackbarian Idol telling me that he felt the bloc would simply be the new Q, and that he didn't want to be part of that. Etc. I don't feel the need to continue on.

I don't even know why you wasted your time on writing up this bunch of lies about something that happened over a year ago---but in any event, I'm very glad we didn't enter into a bloc with an alliance led by such an insane, inane person as yourself; and I'm sure that given how you are, it wouldn't have worked out anyway.

    I remember CentCom.

    Also:

I doubt, to say the least, that the decision had been made months before.

Just look at what became of Hangout. Every alliance but TOP had signed it some time before Karma started.

Clearly they weren't committed, which especially showed when we (mostly Sparta) got the !@#$ trolled out of us by TOP for declaring we'd side against the NPO in Karma.

Tromp: Pretty much everything you say about TOP is colored, twisted, and, in general, total BS. Stop trying.

Turns out you should've joined in on that, eh?

Your tears of rage and bitterness against TOP taste like sweet, sweet candy.

  2. 'Do something about it or shut up.' How far we have come.

    Bingo.

Sorry it's still nowhere near as bad as it was under the NPO.

It's a whole lot more boring. It became very apparent after the Karma War that the NPO had been responsible for much of the political dynamism of this game. The game became static without them in the picture. And while the NPO was an alliance that made no secret of its willingness to do nearly anything to maintain its supremacy in the game, the alliances in power these days seem bent on doing things simply because of a petty "because we can" attitude.

Anyhow, I don't see anything big happening in this game for a long time. The treaty web has been totally screwed up ever since GW3, when alliances started signing treaties with everyone and their mothers. Many alliances seem to want to have their proverbial treaty cake and eat it too; that is, they want the game to be exciting, but at the same time they also want to be 100% safe, which they accomplish via treaties with various alliances across the web. These two things do not go together.

On an unrelated note, be sure to remember that everything Penkala says in these sorts of discussions is totally disingenuous and 100% geared towards getting himself attention.

  3. I think you're referring to Chill/TOP's ridiculous deal that you could walk out of karma after two weeks of beating on Rok without consequences, which Fark (probably among others) objected to.

This was an idea by Chill, and he discussed it with Dr. Dan and I, but I never voiced any agreement on our part to it. Most of our interactions with the Gramlins around that period consisted of us raging and swearing at them for attacking our ally.

Why do you continue to voice allegations on matters you know little about? Your persistent grasping at straws in order to insult TOP makes evident a major chip on your shoulder.

  4. it's from the redlettermedia episode 1 review

    20 nerd points for gryffindor

Bingo! That may be the best YouTube production I've ever seen. Sadly, I didn't find the Episode 2 review to be quite as entertaining. I had enjoyed watching the reviewer skewer every last detail of The Phantom Menace, and I was disappointed that he did not spend much time doing so in the review on Attack of the Clones.

  5. It should be noted that Penkala most likely made this thread in an attempt to get himself some attention. For all his act of maturity in the past, the fact that he has here resorted to childish taunting is very telling. He may be a good guy overall---my interactions with him suggest to me that such is the case---but he is in this thread exhibiting one of his less desirable traits.

By responding to him, you'll only be encouraging this sort of bad behavior on his part. I admit to my own mistake in not remembering this before posting my initial response in this thread.

And again you are not listening and missing the point

This war was finely balanced, the result more uncertain than any in a long while

Your side made a bold !@#$ or bust move by attacking CnG, but as soon as you were countered your allies resorted to more conventional tactics, with more co-ordination, more boldness and alot more flair IRON and friends could have hit an exposed flank hard, knocked an alliance or two out of the war and gained some momentum for your side, but that would have required throwing everything, including the reserves into one big push, and your allies lacked the ambition for that

"Lacked the ambition for that"? Why do you act as if you know more about all of this than people who were actually working with IRON?

  6. Nice, a lot of people suspected you guys were cheating and violating the ToS, but nobody was stupid enough to post and confirm it. Referring this matter to the mods...

Think back to your time in TOP, ren. Do you really not remember the joke that SomeGuy is referencing?

Whatever the case, I'm pretty sure admin remembers it. As such, I doubt your report will meet with much success.

Edit: I only just noticed the hidden message in SomeGuy's post. Also, LOL @ Neneko trying to report us.

  7. I highly doubt that, Synth. As has been your penchant lately, you're really stretching in your attempt to win arguments.

The only ones whose opinions on IRON's tactical behavior is important are those alongside whom IRON is fighting in this war. So far as I know, none have any issue with it, and all feel that IRON is fighting admirably.

The opinions of all others on this matter are effectively irrelevant. Frankly, those who started this should be ashamed of themselves for engaging in such immature taunting, while those who are supporting them should be ashamed for implicitly condoning it.

  8. Tromp: I've become aware that I wounded your ego in political discussions way back when, but spending substantial amounts of your time trying to put down anyone who makes you feel that way is not practicable for you or for anyone. There is no substitute for the emotional security that comes from within; to make your sense of self-esteem dependent upon what others say to you is nearly without exception a road that leads to unhappiness.

If you'd like to talk more about this subject, please contact me. I'd be happy to speak with you about it. There are some very easy things that can make a lot of difference in one's emotional life.

    All the best.

    :)
