  1. If it was 1 vs 1 NEW would win. They have no regard for their pixels and even their smallest nations are blooded early with the arts of war via constant raids.

Also NEW enjoys a nice comfortable afternoon update every day where as NoR with a lot of Euro or American members would have a lot of very late nights to stay on to counter the update attacks.

  2. I'm a little curious about where you got these numbers. I was listening to an NPR story and they said that the US has around 8,500 warheads (deployed and in stockpiles)... Your graphic has roughly double that amount.-Craig

Its just a random image I pulled from a google image search on the topic... it does seam to be close to figures ive heard quoted in the past however in recent years the US and Russia have been both decomissioning nukes at a steady rate to fullfil their non-proliferation agreements so if this image is a few years old it wouldn't surprise me if official totalls are now lower. Its also worth noting that theres media asumed stockpile sizes and then there's "officialy reported" totalls that may be a little less honest at times.

As no fish hints at though when your dealing with stockpiles of this size it doesn't take much to "loose track" of a few warheads and thats really the point of the OP... pointing out how crazy the situation was with such a shear number of warheads floating around the planet.

  3. Shocking as it may seem, the world is nothing like CN. Any nation using nuclear weapons would become an instant pariah state. Those with the most nuclear weapons understand that their use would obliterate mankind. Smaller nuclear powers understand that the use of nuclear weapons would, at the very least, result in their own destruction.MAD works. It's incredibly stupid, but it works.

MAD works on the theory that people are of sound mind and fear death/retaliation... what I'm more concerned about is Russia doing their annual stocktake and realising that they have 19999 nukes and then a month later London disapears from a shadowy rogue attack...

Yeah I know its unlikely but say we've got through 50 years without a problem and that's good and all... but can we get through another 50 years...or 50 years after that... I mean you get to a stage where trying to control 30000+ nuke weapons becomes risky particularly when you bring human error, curruption, insanity, and revenge into the mix. If the States and Russia could get themselves down to say just 200 or so warheads I'd feel more trust in the fact you could ensure the highest level of security and control over them hey.

  4. I agree with mrcalkin, ive seen it happen a lot by the time a player realises they have dodgy resourses they have been playing for months and figure its too late or worse still try and reroll and get disolusioned. Ive seen guys reroll nations over a year old after long term frustrations with their set and that just sucks. Maybe Admin could make it that you can only change your set once a month or something so we dont develop crazy swapping systems for paying bills and collecting taxes. I dont know, i still think it would be dam handy.

  5. The resourse swapping tool is the best thing admin has trialled in my 2 years here.

Normally a trade circle can take weeks to organise and fall just as quick. With the new system I had a trade circle up and going in 30 mins with the help of some friends on IRC.

Its a little chaotic if your not organised but if you take control of the swapping and get people all together it takes out a lot of the stress of trades. I really hope admin applies this to SE mode soon.

  6. Moreso then white peace I always prefer seeing a clear surrender statement to end a war. I also flat out hate reps, unless the alliance in question has pulled something unusually dumb like TOP/IRON pre-empting CnG or Doomhouse attacking NPO without any form of a CB. In a case like this even still I prefer moderate reps compared to the mamoth style terms set to the NPO after Karma. Regardless of your own security I think its better for the game to not lock out whole influential Aliances for 6 months to a year. Then again I'm just a player of the modern post karma age so perhaps with more years of experiance I would see things differently.

  7. I think its one big war.... in my head this whole thing is a PB/MK war with the mission of stomping out any serious power threats before they unite.

They saw that NpO and NPO were starting to get closer folling treaties like Legion and TIO recently. They then punched the numbers and saw that if that sector really did unite that it would be a power threat. They then milked / set up a CB against NpO... ran with it as quick as possible asuming legion would quickly throw NPO in the ring as well.

When it was obvious legion and NPO were being deliberetly held back the same agressive front at PB/MK decided to say stuff it and just move on the final portion of the original target.

The fact both fronts share essentially the same agressor Blok convinces me its one big war against multiple target AA's.

  8. Also sorry to double post but its worth while keeping in mind when you look at the poll results that VE, MK and RIA all reside within one side of the political web here in CN with BAPS sitting very independent to these 3. This means the BAPS results will be overinflated as you are diluting the opinions of the other side of the web by giving them 3 options.

If say you ran a poll that went BAPS, Valhalla, NPO, MK you would see that MK result instantly double or tripple in size.

    ...just saying ;)
