1.
People knew about this treaty months ago, why wouldn't they know about IRON-MK already? Not as if they're talking about the Valhalla-PC treaty yet, that's still 4 months away.
I do love how so many people feel the need to say, "I knew about this!" It reminds me of the crappy athlete kid on the playground raising his hand saying, "Pick me, pick me!" Some things never change.
 2.
When allied to said alliance, it pushed to drop a treaty with IRON in favour of a treaty with them. They were quite insulted when they were told we did not drop treaties simply because one of our friends "told" us to.
Heh, I remember that move, it was pretty funny at the time.
 3.
Congratulations to both parties, especially our allies in TOP. Much love guys
I second this sentiment.
 4.
Thus far your protectors haven't shown anything to follow their claims of nukes and ZI for raiders. The only man with some balls it seems is Ertyy of Gramlins, a one man crusade to stand up for whats right.
He's personally stood up for things before... if only to sit back down rather quickly.
 5. As sapper already mentioned, IRON Council and the Presidency are together the highest offices. For years only Councilors had votes and the President did not. If this doesn't make your cut, so be it. This is a list that causes one to reflect on time spent, wouldn't you say?
 6. Hello old friend, hello. My deepest congratulations to you Heft as well as the NSO!
 7. I've been IRON Council since January 30th, 2008.
 8. Good luck to you guys, let me know if you need anything.
 9.
And you forget 6: I need to get back to number 1 casualties. ASAP
Good luck with that.
 10.
And that they stayed in peace mode until Gre destroyed itself. An incredible feat!
I beg to differ. I actively participated in the destruction of many Gramlin nations as did many other IRONers. I spoke with and convinced many of them to quit Gre (not an act of self-destruction), watched as 5 of them that I fought before the signing of the ESA allowed themselves to delete within weeks of finishing my round with them, and kept on beating on anything else in my range with only one short break from late January until the day they finally accepted our offer of white peace (6 months later). I am not by any means alone in that process either. We methodically climbed the ladder and utter destroyed them while taking the least damage possible. Like I said this was accomplished by isolating them one by one as well as actively convincing dozens of others to leave Gre high and dry. That is a tactic that I think worked to near perfection. I don't personally care if it was at a pace that was too slow for your liking, we did it nonetheless. I think your bias is clouding your judgment.
 11. What a fabulous lineup. Much love from IRON, guys (and Sky)!
 12.
Remember all the inter-Karma drama during that war? Yeah, that was because a fair number of people within Karma did not agree with the peacenik message that was being sent. You would do well to remember that the next time you want to trot Karma out as a point of reference. To people like me, what you say linking us to Karma is irrelevant, because people like me weren't necessarily supporters of Karma like you think we were.
Though we seem to disagree on several things, I must say that I'm impressed with your honesty. Most people that think along the lines which you do would be afraid to say so on the OWF.
 13.
Hello Matt, long time no see! First off, I want to say that I agree with some of the things you are saying but must take a moment to correct some falsities within your post. The Hegemony iron foot was only lifted sometime around January of this year. Being that it is now only August, I would say that 2 years ago is somewhat of a stretch, wouldn’t you? Secondly, and I may get roasted for this, or not, but if you don’t like what’s happening… DO SOMETHING about it other than moan and complain. Kind of like what our side did prior to the Hegemonic downfall. Demonize us all you want, we’re ready when you are.
Wow, you are a blast from the past, nice to see you. Anyways, I was speaking of Karma which was 16 months ago so I guess down the middle of our two times. To say there was an IRON hegemony beyond that point is untrue. As to you saying do something about it, that really furthers my point.
So without any real ground to stand on, the great Matt Miller turns to hyperbole. I must say Matt, when someone tells you If X then Y and you X !@#$ up, its very hard to be in the right. RoK acted on their word, NSO was warned. There is very little comparison that you can make to Hegemony when a valid CB involved preemption on the basis of hearsay.
Was it really hyperbole? I don't think so, it's a good comparison as far as I'm concerned. You are justifiably allowed to disagree. I also never said NSO was clean here, they screwed up to. I'm just saying taking this to all out war wreaks of warmongering. I thought the entire basis of the Karma war and everything post that time was to end that sort of behavior.
 14.
You guys never needed evidence, why need it now? 'Cause you're outside looking in?
You make a very good point here and quite a valid comparison between The Hegemony behavior of ~2 years ago that was so heavily demonized and the current behavior of Rok and their supporters like you. Thank you for mentioning it here.
 15.
can ya link me too it?? I would like to see them thanks for the reply
Here you go. According to some IRC logs, Hoo's only evidence that Sedrick did any spying is the suspicious of the TENE guy he's was fighting with. There's no exposed spy ops, ya know, hard evidence. NSO isn't totally in the clear here and they admit as much. This shouldn't have become a full-scale war; it's just aggressive warmongering from Hoo in my opinion.
 16.
I was just wondering about screen shots, cause it is my own personal opinion that declaring such a large scale war over 6 mill in aid to someone who may or may not be a rogue is just silly.
The real truth here is not that the 6 million is a big deal. It's really about Hoo feeling more important than everyone and attacking NSO with several other alliances because he can. Oh and Heft dared not take Hoo's word for the holy gospel of Admin. Hoo doesn't need to produce evidence, his word is law...
 17.
just got a question... did either side have screen shots to prove there claims???
NSO does, Rok does not unless they are holding out for some reason.
 18.
This has very little to do with the consequences of NSO's actions and really is about the fact that Heft defied Hoo. It has been repeatedly stated that Hoo TOLD THEM that it would be considered an act of war, as if Hoo's words alone represent some sort of law.
So Hoo is a bully with a God-Emperor complex that somehow thinks he is more important than lowly Heft? Say it ain't so! Heft did screw up here, but not enough for an alliance war. I thought we fought a huge war in early to mid '09 to rectify this sort of behavior. You know those that did it needed to bleed to be absolved of their sins and then the bullying would end. Many have changed their ways after this point in time. It seems Rok went the way of the bully... That is the point that should not be forgotten about this war, everyone says "Hoo told him it would be an act of war" and didn't seem bothered to work things out. He wanted war, he's a bully, nothing new here. My memory is missing one little fact that perhaps someone in this thread could help me with, who was leading Rok when they installed a viceroy back in the day? I honestly can't remember.
 19.
Also, two posts to mention 'we're not as bad as NPO'? Seriously? Ironic, too, considering RoK are about the only non-Hegemony alliance to actually have imposed a viceroy which seems to be your only argument.
But, but, but they aren't as bad as NPO!!!
 20.
<3 R&R. give 'em hell guys A reasonable alliance wouldn't declare without a CB on an entire bloc of allianes because their [s]boyfriend[/s] [s]master[/s] friend's in TOP said to. So, I fail to see how IRON's opinion counts as to the actions of a reasonable alliance.
James has been in OPA for 3 months, but by all means keep slinging mud IRON's way. It makes you look great.
 21. I'm guessing The Gramlins didn't really approve this lest the paperless gather more paper.
 22. Congrats to our allies in R&R on the longevity here. Grats to FOK as well.
 23. It seems you are growing nicely. What sort of things are you primarily focusing on building as an alliance? Nukes, specific wonders, tech levels, warchests, or a careful balance?
 24.
It's traditional for all the government signatures to be included on treaties, even if not all of them voted for it – it's not really an issue at all, I would say. I know my name was on a few Grämlins treaties that I didn't vote for.
As has mine in the past as well. I suppose Gramlins have become an alliance where you don't stand together, it's more about personal beliefs and airing your dirty laundry by making it known you didn't vote with your fellow government members. IRON Council does not discuss who voted for what outside of Council since we believe it's not about us as individuals; rather it's about our alliance as a whole. This business about Ram's signature being an issue between Peron and Ram is garbage. I think it is that Ramirus wants it to be known that his ego has been harmed and his good name has been soiled. I wonder what bothers him more, white peace being accepted or the fact that the signatures of 3 guys from a "paperless" alliance just appeared on a piece of e-paper. One thing is for sure, Ramirus thinks about himself first and foremost and that's what makes him a terrible alliance leader. Edit: Spelling
