It reflects our hippy ways. Edited July 8, 2009 by Don Yoku
Gopherbashi
He brings up a good point. Add line has been dropping.12.23/5= 2.45 RAD = 2.64 It seems a bit unfair to add someone to the race after it's started. I'm fine either way. PhysicsJunky
There's blue (like those in Blu-Ray players) and recently developed green lasers. Green lasers are actually fairly old. There are lasing mediums in almost every color and wavelength imaginable, including microwave, ultraviolet and infrared. The real question is whether they cheap, useful and easy to make. I think you're referring to the recent cheap availability of green laser pointers. I work with a laser that can readily melt metal and will blow your skin right off if you let it, and it's not even particularly special nowadays. Heck, inertial fusion lasers have passed 1 megajoule per pulse, think a little over a half pound of TNT force being delivered to a spot the size of a pin head. That's more energy density than a nuclear bomb. I told you it would be a close match! Well, the gap between them is now 0.22 so don't look for much joy tomorrow unless one of them collapses spectacularly or one of them happens to gain several large nations. - The other "look out here" race between Orange Defense Network and The Democratic Order has heatened somewhat. Both posted large gains however the one in front stays in front, by a gap of 0.16. - Ragnarok collapses spectacularly today dropping a whopping 1.09 for the loss of 10 nations, gaining them Biggest Loser as well as being passed by two alliances. However the next alliance down (Monos Archein) is 0.8 away - so I don't think RoK will be being passed again tomorrow unless they collapse again. - We've started with losses, let's continue with them. Their loss was so high it just had to be Biggest Loser, but there were other losses, which on 99% of other days would've taken out the award. An example of this is the New Pacific Order's -0.38, and possibly Mushroom Kingdom's -0.22. - Other losses included M*A*S*H (-0.14) and Sparta and Fark (both -0.12). - Gains were more abundant especially with the Sanctioned Alliances today. Mostly Harmless Alliance caps it off with the largest gain of 0.24, but other great gains from the Sanctioned Ones included Orange Defense Network (+0.21), The Order of the Paradox and The Democratic Order (both +0.13) and New Polar Order (+0.11). - Special shoutout to Global Alliance And Treaty Organization who was the only unsanctioned alliance to post a gain over +0.1, with their +0.14. - Tried a new format today, Sanctioned, up to the 14th, next 10, the rest (which also happened to be 10 entries as well!) - Today's shoutout goes to... everyone! Yes, everyone gets a shoutout today ---------- Related Links: Stats By Unspeakable Evil Tournament Edition Sanction Race How To Update the Amazing Sanction Race Sanction Race Update Creator spreadsheet: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=pFd...rmXWQ&hl=en [/update]

Gopherbashi
Team Tour July 8, 2009 MHA does a great deal to pull Aqua out of its hole today, but RoK ruins the party by dropping nearly a full point and dragging Aqua down to 11th place in today's race. On the plus side (for them, at least), the three Red alliances take three of the bottom six places for today, and Red drops nearly three-quarters of a point to take last place. Silence surprises once again, shooting up into third place, while GATO bumps up Brown's hopes for an eventual victory with a strong fourth-place showing. Orange's strong charge, led by ODN and TOP, falls just short with a second-place result by the narrowest of margins. In other news, we've got a three-way race for fifth, giving me even more stuff to talk about for the next few days. Silence has a half-point lead for first place on their closest competitor, NpO. RoK is nearly three points out of first place, but knowing them, we'll see some merger from them a few days before the race ends. Brown retains nearly a full-point lead on second-place Blue, although I think I seriously messed up the team stats yesterday, because the math doesn't quite work out between yesterday and today, but the new stats should be good.
