As this war started we were told of the FAMOUS goons meat grinder for nations under 10-15k, and again fear set in. As we entered this funhouse of a war, we looked all over for the meatgrinder, we only found a tickle machine. I don't know maybe fighting back broke some teeth in the grinder, as it appears the grinder only works, when more than the original 220 nation attack 20, and the added 20 in Kaskus caused it to short out. Now we are feeling the electrified funhouse, kinda shocking that aid to a friend with a new nation could cause all this. Those are their only options. [/quote] Their effect was not in the sense of doing stat damage, but PR damage. I thought this was a little deluded, since nobody really cares that much about how much a losing party cries over a war. MONGOLS/Kaskus would never have won that war. They would have done damage, but they'd take far more damage in return. No victory there, and they would've stopped the war for white peace. But now, you've given them solid assurance that they have in fact, had an impact. If PB had curbstomped on MONGOLS/Kaskus earlier on when the war started, this would be arguable. But it's not, it's proven that Kaskus is actually having a real impact. Umbrella going in is understandable and respectable, to deal with the upper tier mercenaries coming in to take shots at GOONS. GOONS could have ended the war with white peace. Sure, we'd hear about some idiots trying to twist it into a victory, but nobody listens to them. Any PR GOONS might have lost for ending a war on white peace is lost further when you bring in a whole bloc to enforce that a losing alliance pay reparations. Now, this would still be understandable if there was a good reason for GOONS to start this war, but everyone knows that it started over a tech raid victim fighting back. "Tactical defeat, strategic victory" is an overused term in Digiterra. But here, it applies perfectly well. Stats do not have all the impact on Digiterra. History and actions does too, and people will remember this for a few years to come. You don't accomplish anything here. GOONS doesn't even save face. PB doesn't look good for curbstomping. All you get is maybe disbanding Kaskus/MONGOLS after this. But they can rest happy knowing that they were winning a war against some of the biggest alliances on Planet Bob. GOONS shouldn't lower their standards for Kaskus. GOONS has policies in place that have lasted the test of time, the test of being outnumbered.
