1.
Wow, for a moment there you *almost* had me convinced to join Polar. Keep trying.
Joining would be somewhat safer than allying them and then having to scramble when they switch sides in the middle of a war like NSO had to do. May I suggest STA for your new alliance?
 2.
I think more of the outrage is over, their allies in MCXA have been hit, their allies in Exodus have been hit, their allies in Nordreich and BTA are in however have not been countered yet. That's four treaties on one side of a war. Usually if you have that many treaties on one side of a war you usually do your best to help that side out. However, because Valhalla seems to have an irrational hatred of Polar (that's ok, but it's not how I'd do things) they are going to let people they like burn.
That only rational opinion for any alliance to hold toward NpO is hatred or at least avoidance. Holding an MDoAP with NpO like IAA does is the height of irrational behavior.
 3.
band wagon in?
You know that your little Bi-Polar stunt is what caused everyone to hate Polar right? A marionette has now come to smack you in the face.
 4. Obvious setup but how could I possibly be sad that Polaris is getting rolled?
 5.
It is not about protecting NEW because they deserve it. It is about protecting NEW because Poison Clan has done the exact same thing as NEW before, and have suddenly changed their moral view on the world because now it's convinient of them to do so. If Poison Clan had any balls at all, they would have defended NEW, no matter what the consequences would be. Because, they don't have a NAP (Not that they wouldn't break that if they had to ), but they do have an obligation to defend them through their MDoAP. And as Poison Clan have so eloquently pointed out before, raiding dead alliances is perfectly fine. But when was this, I can't quite bring my mind to remember it
You're making a simple mistake, assuming that PC has the skills or wherewithal to establish and follow a coherent FA policy. PC is an attack dog on the leash of whomever is in their ear at the time. Right now it happens to be their fellow PB alliances who don't want this war.
 6.
Perhaps Legion are the true victims here.
There are no victims in this treaty, laughter for all. I know Valhalla mean't well when we signed with Legion too. Been there and done that now though. Wouldn't wanna deal with it again. As for Polar, I would never trust them, meh.
Congratulations, guys. I'm glad you're into each other. Do you BobSanders still around? I haven't seen you in forever, hey.
From time to time, I was just lucky enough to get on tonight.
Well played Mr. Sanders. Well played.
Sadly I am missing the reference, PM plz
 7.
You can't be serious. Whoever is running Polar's FA department should be fired. And PZI'd.
Alongside Legion's FA dept head.
 8.
I have to wonder how many ex-GOLD are even left. BobSanders and Nintenderek are the only I know.
There are quite a few more, most including myself had left long before the OP was in charge. (OOC)In fact there a couple that I know in real life but I won't name them due to possible embarrassment.(/OOC) In retrospect chosing an alliance based solely on color was a poor choice on my part.
I wasn't here for the time, but wasn't GOLD a really crappy alliance?
Before the sanction I had fun, after the sanction it sucked so I left
We should probably destroy any alliance that takes a name with the same acronym as a previously disbanded alliance.
VE maybe?
Vladimir Stukov was in it. Alpha Omega was also founded by some ex-GOLD members, iirc.
Yep, AO was almost entirely ex-GOLD at the start. The founders are mostly gone to other alliances now as far as I know. Edit: I'm sure you know the last part, forgot who I was replying to.
 9. Not including current partners, Umbrella, FAN and maybe Fark. Picking out 3 alliances that I'm not treatied to and don't hate was tough work. If only you had asked for alliances I'd least like to be treatied to, I could go on for days.
 10. http://cybernations.wikia.com/wiki/Derka-Jihad_War The Derka Jihad "war" was the most fun for me because I was so closely involved and that guy was so mindblowingly insane and stupid. I still laugh when I think about it.
 11.
This definitively isn't being a good week for \m/
Its been entertaining though.
 12.
[03:27] <~EmperorMarx> Alright. How about STA peaces out with Merrie. And just like that the situation is handled. Done. [03:27] <~EmperorMarx> Merrie won't be attacking [03:27] <&Kev_McD[Goauld|Tri]> no, Josshill[PC] [03:27] <&Kev_McD[Goauld|Tri]> but EM can [03:27] <~EmperorMarx> And if for some god awful reason that he does, then you can have him. [03:27] <~EmperorMarx> But as it stands now he hasn't aggressively attacked STA. [03:27] <Josshill[PC]> STA has breached the soveriegnty of \m/ by attacking though. [03:28] <&Kev_McD[Goauld|Tri]> Josshill[PC], please 01[03:28] <@pezstar> Sure. We can do that. We're not saying we did anything wrong or anything of the sort, though.
The bolded part made me lol. I guess PC wanted war more than \m/ did. It was an all around amusing situation.
 13.
Couldn't it have just been that people wanted to destroy NSO, Pacific and IRON be damned?
But NSO is so cuddly.. Why would anyone dislike them?
 14. Actually it wasn't really a trap. RoK just want war more than NSO thought they did when they tried to play chicken.
 15.
After 21 pages all I see from NSO and allies is: "I knew Hoo was wanting war, that was a trap!"
Huh? I think that NSO was stupid and didn't come close to seeing the trap. I haven't seen a single person say they knew it was a trap before it happened.
 16.
A government official having his signature added to an agreement without his consent doesn't offend you?
It is completely standard, any decision that is made according to the rules of governance for an alliance is presented in public signed by the entire gov no matter their individual vote or opinion on that particular matter. That is just how its done on Planet Bob.
 17.
Well in that case, why sign anything more than an ODP?
A treaty with an alliance that votes on whether to honor an MDP is an ODP. The question is "Will your democratic ally vote consistently to back you up?" If they won't then your treaty is garbage.
 18.
At least with Gremlins they protected them with the threat of a treaty still "on the books" and then cancel the treaty after the threat is over. With us, they just stood to the side and didn't do anything letting the treaty expire due to Surrender Terms. Don't take me wrong, I think MHA is doing the right thing with canceling the treaty finally. My beef is the timing.
They didn't stand by, they attacked an alliance that defended NPO for the actual act of defending NPO. Rok declared on NPO, IRON declared on Rok in defense of NPO, MHA declared on IRON in defense of Rok(the only alliance that was DOWed by IRON). Seems like an odd course of action for an ally dontcha think? What did you think would happen anyway MHA? An alliance completely ruled by arrogant, self-righteous jackasses for its relevant history at the time the treaty was signed was taken over by an even more arrogant, more self-righteous jackass. Shocking turn of events there.
 19. Damn, I had mine 3 days ago and missed it. You came in the Digg rush also?
 20.
In before Mogar. Wait, wrong guy. Meh, you're all the same to me. Welcome back and stuff.
I was thinking the same thing. When does the spamming start?
 21.
To be fair to you Bud I think you joined Val after the threats were made. It was some time back and Invicta went recruitment mad. As such they took a senator place at nWs expense. You may imagine he hit the roof. He did and used political power and threats to force Invicta from the race. Invicta lived for months under a shadow that was his rage. Even after Legion beat Vals arse NPO bailled out Val with white peace, or else; to Legion. Legion wanted a free purple senate race. So until nW was couped Invicta was bullied by Valhalla. I cannot speak for Valhalla but many in Invicta went into PU with great hope but also great reservations. I think many Valhallans had nothing but contempt for Invicta. No proof - just a feeling. M6
Some time? We removed noWedge almost two and a half years ago. Get a grip dude.
 22.
I promise to at least think about activating this treaty before deciding to roll Valhalla anyway.
Moar casualties? Sounds like fun.
 23.
you seem to think that this treaty is real
It is real.
 24.
And so it begins...
t-minus 42 days
 25.
CnG wouldn't exist today had I and a few others taken this attitude. And NPO would probably still be in power if no one had broken from playing the realpolitik game, as we did. NPO was much better at that game than anyone else, and the rules had to be changed in a fundamental way for Karma to even happen. Had it not been for the example of C&G disregarding the established rules of politics, with every alliance in it willing to be hit until disbandment just to claw at the Enemy on the way down and not let our friends die alone... Had it not been for the sacrifices and spying of the leaders of Vox Populi, which helped break up the Continuum by kicking the natural paranoia of its signatories into high gear... Had it not been for FAN, stubbornly refusing to die or beg NPO to be allowed to live...
Are you currently allied to any alliance that has attacked a mutual ally without consulting you? Seriously? The VE cancellation on NpO was as standard and obvious as it gets.
Had it not been for an alliance called Sparta seeing something special in what a small and broken alliance called Athens had just done, and choosing to ally us and abandon realpolitik themselves... Then the world would have never changed. Without the broad support from everyone that ended up being Karma, that war would have most likely been just the stomping of Superfriends and their allies.
That was realpolitick, Sparta had made their decision to fight against Q and NPO in the next war which became known as Karma. Along the same realpolitick vein they choose to stay in Q and function as stool pigeons. Don't believe me? Just look at my sig.
You cannot be serious. [OOC: If you want to read that in a John McEnroe voice, go right ahead.] VE has quite a record of putting itself in politically rather difficult places because of its idealism, both before and since Ardus's Lordship. It's true that after the Viridicide – getting killed because of pure idealism – we necessarily added an element of pragmatism to our approach, and while I wasn't here at the time, the choice between coming back under the NPO's wing and Algae Accords or not coming back at all should be obvious, even if it offends the pure idealists. VE was one of the first alliances to break cover and cancel ties with the Hegemony in the build-up to Karma, a very dangerous political move, and completely counter to the 'realpolitik' move at that time. (That's the cue for Hal to come in and say that it was an obvious Karma victory from 1995 onward so I'll just pre-empt that by pointing out now that it wasn't obvious until after the war had started and Hegemony (i) screwed up their deployment and timing and (ii) alienated NpO, MHA, TOP and Sparta into not following their ties. When VE cancelled, Citadel and SF were still firmly tied into NPO MDPs and Continuum was still mostly together.)
I'll give you a possible on NpO. MHA and Sparta were firmly committed to leaving Q and fighting against it for months. TOP claims that they wavered but I don't believe them. Your entire post is delusional drivel meant to further the insane myth that Karma was a spontaneous defense of OV. It was a planned military trap and the trigger was not relevant, the next war that NPO declared was getting the same response. The trigger just happened to be OV.
The cancellations were purposefully dragged out over the course of two weeks to give the impression of increasing isolation on NPO's part, which is just to say that we thought it'd be funny and have more impact than a mass cancel.
Well played. Thank you for not spewing fairy tales like the two other guys I quoted.
