The Real

What is this suggesting, rationing?
2. If you don't write walls of text then the terrorists win.
3. I don't understand how people can ignore the main point of this thread. Sure, maybe all the information from within ODN and any breach to their charter can be explained away but CoJ provided the logs in question that started the whole issue. The fuss is all probably just a result of whisper down the lane that exaggerated what was actually said. If there were no threats then there is no need to apologize. It's as simple as that. There is no point in arguing what CoJ deserves for something that has been shown to not have happened. In a perfect world I would hope that ODN would apologize for blowing this incident out of proportion and negatively portraying CoJ as a bully. Then perhaps CoJ could apologize for having to respond with a smear campaign of their own.
4. I don't think there is a huge need to deeply describe the inner-mechanics of CN in such a short paper but you do need to add some context to terms. Anyone around here would understand what you mean when you say "NPO was unseated by Karma in 2009" but your professor will have no clue that Karma was a war and/or coalition against NPO instead of actual karma. You explain later in your paper but early on it would be unclear what is going on. Just adding one word to make it Karma War would be much clearer.
5. I'd like to help you out and I think I may have some relevant information and situations to give you but I'll have to check to see if it is okay with the higher ups. Nothing too big but you should be able to use it if I understand what you're asking for correctly. Shoot me a PM if I forget and don't get something to you in a day or so.
6. I believe there was a blog about the large amount of MK nations who have been in peacemode the entire war compared to NPO nations. You might want to give that a read if you're interested in statistics.
7.
I'm still not understanding the concept of this one on one 'honor' system, if that was the standard - why is aid allowed? How come the one of the standards for victory in a prolonged conflict is draining, hampering or halting the aid process of your enemy?
It's not that he's getting aid, it's that he can't fund his own war effort even past the first week of wars. Hiro Nakara at one time was over 8500 infra so his warchest should have been nearly $1 Billion if not more.
8.
Unfortunately you did. One month of war for all NPO nations, that's it. Legion has to pay 2b and do the tech deals, mostly to MK I believe. Pretty straight-forward. I mean there's probably something in there about writing a five act play or slapping on an amusing nation bio but the meat-and-potatoes is above and fairly clear. What it comes down to is the NPO leadership being utter cowards, and forcing their allies to put their heads on the chopping block in their own place. Now while this is fine for some of the more bloodthirsty GOONS, I wonder why NPO's allies are standing by her.
You say I'm wrong and then immediately admit that there were billions in reps as well as forced tech deals. I'm also pretty sure Legion isn't the only alliance facing reps and alliances that have already exited the war surrendered with reps. Please get your story straight.
9.
As far as I know, there is only a single condition to peace: All NPO nations must exit Peace Mode and fight for one month. That's it. No reparations, no disarmament, no humiliating surrender posts. Just a good solid fight.
What? I guess I must have imagined those billions of dollars in reps and thousands of forced tech deals then.
10.
Where do I lecture? What I do happen to do is question. Sometimes I question motive, though generally I question competence, as a nations founding date has no bearing on the amount or quality of it. But please, do tell how anything I say or think is invalid because 'I don't know' or 'Hah, you're only X days old'. It's refreshing to hear these thing as my military ravages the anarchied nation of Rothinzil scrounging for money and technology.
Forgive me if I came across as hostile but that's basically exactly what I was saying (though hopefully in a nicer tone). The fact is that you are a new player with a young nation recruited to fight in the middle of an ongoing war. The guides you've read might have taught you how to fight an individual war or to get your trades set but they don't teach you alliance wide tactics and strategy. Your leaders may have given you a summary of past events but you haven't experienced any of them for yourself nor do you actually know the people you are fighting. You've joined in medias res and at this point are just following orders, reading propaganda, and watching bickering on the OWF. You may have some information and knowledge about CN but you don't have experience or wisdom. Your earlier posts in this thread give the impression that you don't fully understand the game. You don't seem to understand the importance of the upper tier to fund and rebuild the lower tier (what DH is doing with all those aid packages during the war and NPO is planning to do in the post war period), presenting your own perspective on what is reasonable for reparations when you seem to have no experience, believing that the peace offered will make it easier for the defeated to rebuild and come back, making judgments on the general membership of certain alliances being friendlier than others, saying that you need time to get to know different alliances but then pronouncing judgment on NPO without putting in any time yourself... that kind of stuff. I'd rather not go into more detail about the specifics of your statements as these sorts of things have been mentioned ad nauseum in the past few weeks but I will if you'd like.
11.
It's so cute how you try to 'zap' people, If only you were better at it.
Correct me if I'm wrong but I assume you're a new GOONS member that came over in the recent wave a few days ago. If that is the case then why are you in a position to lecture about alliance wide war strategy and CN history that has led up to this war?
12.
That can't be right... any NPO nation with that many wonders and improvements is surely in peacemode.
You crack me up. A great read, thank you. Congratulations to the new emperor and the Order.
13. So you're saying NPO was preempted because DH didn't want everyone else on their side to commit to the war and then have NPO jump in last, right? It wasn't because DH believed NPO was about to declare on either them or their allies at that moment but just further down the line they might join the fight once everyone else was involved. If that is the case then why even attack them? DH could have just as easily stayed in reserve, ready to counter NPO if they should jump in. NPO thus would not be able to enter the war last and steamroll in unopposed. It's not like DH's allies on the NpO front were getting trashed or that numbers down the line looked bad for them. Others will of course argue with me but I don't see the threat from NPO as imminent and certain and thus not even worth considering a preemptive strike. In this case deterrence would have worked as well if not better than attacking NPO.
14. Tragedy hits the best of us. Best of luck in the coming days. You are in our thoughts and our prayers.
15. You're saying NPO should have completely ducked into PM and then ignore DH. Their allies then do not join the war but simply stay in a constant state of readiness in case DH then preempts them?
16. What would be the point of NPO telling its allies to stay out of the war? If I remember correctly NPO was attacked for doing just that and staying out of NpO's war. If NPO's allies stayed neutral, how long would it take for DH or one of their allies to preemptively attack alliances that were clearly staying out of the conflict?
17. It's been a long time since we've been in a good fight. Here's to a good war.
18. I can agree with a lot said in the opening post except the conclusion about alliances purposely not escalating wars. It just seems horribly contradictory for you to say that an alliance has the right to remain neutral and then denounce those alliances who are not interested in creating a global war and remain neutral during them. How is attacking NPO any different than attacking GPA?
19. Concise, something the DoW lacked. Good luck in the fight against 'honorable opponents.'
20. I'm seriously embarrassed for you. I'd think you'd at least have the sense not to mention the hypocrisy of all this in your declaration of war and then adding all the chest thumping about honorable opponents. Short and sweet would have been fine. Everyone knows what this is and why it's being done. No need to ineffectively try smoke and mirrors.
21. I look forward to a long and prosperous relationship with our new allies.
22. Outnumbered 1/6 to 1. Good odds for any Spartan.
23. I anarchied him earlier today, not that he's fighting back. I'll keep pounding him down for you.
