    Spy Bugs

2 days ago my tax rate was spied: To: Samwise From: Unknown Sender Date: 6/25/2016 1:49:16 PM Subject: Spy Operation Attack Message: A spy operation has been launched against your nation. In the attack the enemy spies targeted your Internal Revenue Services (IRS) and managed to change your national tax rate to a level of 25%. Your attacker was able to return home unharmed and unidentified. From the info index: Sabotage IRS Proficiency (New tax rate randomly produced, 1-5% lower than old tax rate, low limit of 23%) = $100,000 + (20 x enemy nation strength x enemy number of days inactive) [Defender required to collect taxes to change] The last day I collected taxes was on the 19th of June, yet I can still switch my tax rate back manually without having collected taxes for the day. It seems you can switch threat level without collecting as well.

  10. We're still receiving nuke and spy attacks post update despite peace being in effect.
  11. This is precisely my problem with the "dirty" spy operations issue. Let me make this clear - I don't know what all ops you're receiving beyond my own, and what's in the exposed spy operations page. But looking through OE's spy ops, the only one I assume you mean is the failed incite gov propaganda op by TJack75 on Bilrow on the 8th. In this situation, you had a non-nuclear, 15 day old nation, updeclaring a 51 day old nation with a full set (hnms included) of nukes. Actually, let me pull the stats from the date of declaration (4/6): He was able to anarchy him, but he knew he wasn't going to be able to keep him in anarchy. To prevent him from switching out and declaring on 3 other nations, he attempted to spy his gov to keep him locked in anarchy therefore containing his nuclear damage only to himself. That's called strategy. You may call that dirty, but he sacrificed himself for the good of the group. So in this situation you have a misunderstanding about what's considered "dirty". Then, in the above post Skaullin mentions that he's receiving assassinate generals spy ops, which I would never have even thought to be considered dirty. Again, you have what I would consider to be a valid, strategical spy operation, and some are considering it dirty? Generals increase damage, military efficiency, and reduce military costs and upkeep. Hell, even the economic ones increase population, which means larger armies. Generals provide a tactical advantage to warfare, and yes, I ran one of those ops as you can see in my linked spy operations page above. My point is, we have a genuine misunderstanding, which stemmed from a lack of communication on what you wanted taken off the table. Then you have a whole other issue entirely. The fact isn't hidden that you have downdeclared on us, and nations like NGW are fighting 3 defensive wars against nations who declared with almost a 2k infra advantage. (BTW, some of those nations look a little too similar if you know what I mean. ;) ) It's not only hypocritical, but our priorities seem to be misplaced when we're discussing poor sportsmanship and we jump to spy operations - especially when I'm hearing reports of 200-300 mil warchests. But I'm not complaining about anything. I'm pretty sure it's apparent by my lack of wonders that I'm not paying attention to much of anything this round. To be honest, I had no intention of declaring any war on account that I'm busy elsewhere. So I thank you for bringing the fight to me, because I really am having a good time, and I think my guys are too. Is it safe to assume we're peaceing out at the 4/11-4/12 changeover?
  12. I'd agree that it is intentional if modifiers correspond to purchased land, not growth. It may be a bug that the modifiers aren't 0 with 0 purchased land.
  13. Thanks for the logs. :) I still think there's a bug here. I was under the impression that how the mechanic worked for DA's was that you could only be DA'ed once per day, but when you are nuked, the nuke takes that DA slot. Otherwise, you'd be able to DA following a nuke on those who have 0 soldiers. The description on the FSS pertains to nuclear anarchy, not defeat alerts. It's a bit confusing because the info index doesn't come right out and call them a defeat alert when describing what happens when a defeat alert is issued, but those are 2 separate situations.
  14. It is my understanding that you cannot be defeat alerted after a nuclear attack. Also, I never received a message yesterday when my deployed forces were returned home. You can see by the state of my inbox (185 unread messages) I haven't been deleting anything, so I'm certain I didn't delete that message. That one's not so much of a big deal, and I didn't intend on reporting it until the DA after nuke issue occurred today.
  15. It does my heart good to see you're still making Kurdanak and Belisarius do stuff.
  16. :/ I'm sorry to hear that. Thank goodness they caught it early with your mom. I sincerely hope things work out.
  17. It's hyprocritical that you first attempt to bully my alliance, say you'll reroll and nuke us the remainder of the round, and when we make preparations against that, you call it bullying tactics on our part. This was your first statement in this thread: That is a threat I take seriously, not for my sake, but the lower members in my alliance. You'd be nuking them to get to me, something I plan to avoid if at all possible. I also hear you made threats to nuke MERCS, so it's clear that you aren't willing to move on. But I have my reasons for blocking you from PM'ing me in-game. I refuse to allow you to harass me, and make OOC attacks towards me. Do you remember this? Or perhaps this message exchange? For anyone who doesn't quite see what was going on, Swazz was aware that I had an aunt who was terminally ill with cancer, and used that info to personally attack me in-game, on 2 separate occassions. He also states his intentions to come after myself and Kurdanak round after round. So swazz, tell me again how you're the victim in this?
  18. It's too bad that we never had a historian write up stuff for wiki pages from round to round. I would've like to read about the rounds before I started playing TE.
  19. The Entente and UN has agreed upon peace effective at the 2/26-2/27 changeover (2/27 midnight server time). Good luck moving forward guys.
  20. I really don't care what you do. I have no problem with warring you until the servers go down. That sounds like the best TE round ever. Haha I'll admit that I wrestled with making this thread because it all really is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things, but then again, it did provide plenty of entertainment value. :P You know I'm the same way. I've ended a round ranked top 5 I think, but I've never been able to take home the casualty crown. I don't think it's really necessary for MERCS to hit UN to prove they wish to end association. I will say that I don't really believe UN ever planned to halt their attack on OE. Judging from the messages we both received, they were confident that we were going to be rolled into the dirt, and didn't give that a second thought. However, if we assume that they're telling the truth, and that they had meant to peace OE so that both MERCS and UN could focus on RE, that's beyond !@#$%*. I'll be honest and that's part of the reason I'm holding UN at war. I've been in the situation you would have been in, dealing with the same asinine behavior. I believe that when an alliance is in that situation, it's the TE community's responsibility to right that wrong, and I had no intentions of leaving you on the battlefield to fight 2 alliances at once. If there are any victims here, it's RE. But UN is already spent, so it would further prove the point that MERCS was pulling an opportunistic move for XP. After speaking with Wiley, I do feel like s/he regrets the situation, and didn't really know who s/he was dealing with. I'm hopeful that moving forward, Wiley will make better decisions and I personally look forward to seeing what MERCS does later on in the round. While yes, UN certainly lacks knowledge of game mechanics, all that can be taught. To me, their bigger issue is not knowing how politics work. Raiding alliances for XP? Sure, okay. It's bold. I'll give you that. Issuing threats you can't back up? Never a good idea. Spamming my inbox with nonsense? That won't make me more receptive to you. You see here where 2 approaches ended is much different results. After speaking with Wiley, I really have no desire to war MERCS, whereas after speaking with Bernie, well... you know. Okay, I'm going to have to call !@#$%^&* here. You say you tried to halt the attack, but a member missed the announcement. Even if that is true, I still messaged you telling you that I had worked out a peace with that nation, meaning no further damage would be done to him. [OOC]Also, you never kicked that non-compliant member. He was deleted by the admin for being in violation of the TOS. Probably multies. No, I don't know that for sure but the only way a nation can be deleted during a war is by the administration, and we had not yet peaced his nation.[/OOC] Next, you "offered" not to use nukes if we allowed you to raid our nations for 3 days. What in the hell kind of leader would I be to accept an offer like that? Had I agreed to that, I can guarantee OE would be rolling me right along with you. Which would be kinda funny. :3 And yes, I blockaded you. Swazz blockaded me, so I bought some ships, and shared the love with you. Gotta get dat XP, yo. (Ironic, right?!) And I said "lolno". At least quote me correctly please. No, you brought the rest of your alliance into it. Your member attacked my member without provocation, I messaged your second-in-command asking what was going on, explaining that I had reached an agreement with your member for peace. He ignored me, then you launched more offensive attacks. I then messaged you directly, again asking what was going on, and explaining that I had worked out a deal for peace with your member. You mistook my mercy for weakness, and confirmed that you had declared war. I will end this textwall with this: Your biggest mistake wasn't declaring a bad war, but rather thinking that you could waltz in here and bully folks into submission. I don't like to toot my own horn here, because truly, there are a lot of folks here who have accomplished just as much as I have, and more in TE. There are some damn fine players here. So next time, perhaps you'll be a bit more cautious as to whom you threaten, because we're all a bunch of blood thirsty sob's.
  21. No, it was me. [hr] This has been the narrative the whole time. Don't attack my members thinking we're not going to defend what's ours. EDIT: Screenshot looked cleaner
