  1. His terminal velocity is probably going to be too slow for the heat that can get through his suit, which is a modified version of a space suit, to do any harm.

He'll be free falling for around 21.5 miles before he pulls the chute though. That would be one hell of a jump.

It's a good thing he isn't afraid of heights. I couldn't do something like that. I'd probably pass out.

  2. That is a very good point, and there are going to be those in NPO who don't feel bad. But I am specifically addressing those who complain about the Anti Pacifican attitude.

Yeah, it's obviously not a brush-paint job. NPO is still made up of hundreds of individuals, and last I checked they aren't exactly a hive-mind. ;)

Also Vladimir, you do make good points. Some people just don't know how to let go. To be fair, it is as hard as admitting one was wrong, because letting go also goes against the grain of humanity's inherent prideful nature.

  3. Saying sorry is hard because people - all people - are inherently prideful. Humility is hard to come by, but if one legitimately has done something wrong (and I speak from both IC and OOC experience here) there is no greater feeling than that of being forgiven.

I think the best example of this from my history is from the Menotah incident when I literally begged Joey67500's forgiveness for mistrusting him in the face of rampant accusations against his person. He forgave me, and after about a couple days of wrapping my head around it (I'm kinda thick :P) I felt as if a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders.

Perhaps NPO could come to feel the same way. Perhaps not. I don't know what their mindset is.

  4. It'll be a few months til I'm at 4 years and I'm not denying it's pretty fun but at the same time there is a emot-wtc.gif factor.

Trust me, I'm closing in on two and a half years and I'm already in the "what the blazes" phase.

Happy anni to one of CN's most intelligent. o/

  5. Ye sure, one big alliance on the big team would be nice, but I can assure you this - you are not the man to do it.

    /thread. Seriously.

Ol' Tolly needs to step aside and let someone who a) knows what they're doing b) doesn't have an ego the size of Asia c) actually has a shred of charisma take on the job of working towards a unified Black.

(Yes, I know NOIR is doing a decent job.)

  6. I approve, if only because British Columbia and Washington are practically the same place, and because I've gotten a ton of mail from Trinity Western trying to get me to go there. Already committed elsewhere, unfortunately for them.

This is so true I had to quote it. :P Actually there are a few Washingtonians in the CanIL (Canadian Institute of Linguistics) program that I'm in. Of course we also have students from as far away as Argentina and as close as a few minutes away. :P

I do have a few ideas for what my first IC blog will be when I get back though:

    1. An edition of the Uralican Daily News (this should go without saying) including various topics like soccer, the development of Uralica's space program, a tourism plug, and the latest updates on the Twinkie-exporting industry :P

    2. Another course profile of a Uralikan Yliopisto course.

    3. A look at multilingualism in Uralica (remember, the country does have 33 official languages  )

    4. A linguistics paper.

    5. A Vladimiresque paper about the basics of Uralicism and/or Neo-Tribalism.
