1. At least those declaring realize they need to preempt their superiors in Pacifica. Without cause or justification but out of warranted fear. You should fear the Orders. That is the way of the Cyberverse.
 2.
If only all this would prompt NSO to join the fight, so that I may be on Rebel Virginia's side once more.
My last wish in the Cyberverse has been to see the Orders fight together. I don't give a damn about opsec, never have. I will be doing everything in my limited influence within NSO to make sure this happens.
 3.
No thanks.
Speak for yourself. This is probably the first time I have ever agreed with Hyperion. It is about damn time people started fighting again.
 4.
Why exactly do you feel that NPO was obligated to try to change their image with anyone?
Because cowards always believe others are obligated to them on some level, whether merited or not.
 5.
Exactly, Warriorconcept. People who can read - people like Alterego and Ivan. Fact of the matter is, that we regard Dajobo's actions and intentions intolerable, regardless of how he wants to backpedal from it, or re-define stuff retroactively as nonsense, or distratct people from the actual concatenation of spacetime.
Right. Which actions are those again? The ones that took place before Lennox ever spoke to Dajobo and was admitted in 4 minutes into VE or the actions that took place after Impero provided Lennox with screenshots from your alliance's private boards?
 6.
You mean just the part of the world you happen to be in that's getting crushed, right?
Or those that can read.
 7.
Rebel Virginia: He makes sense when you don't think about it
True, because logical errors in your timetable of events aren't worth thinking about, right?
 8.
I hadn't noticed, I'd guess timezones, IRC clients typically log in local time.
Which timezone do you live in that is 48 hours behind all the others? Odd.
 9.
I wasn't handling the situation personally, but I'm under the impression that he claimed to be a reroll of someone who played some time ago in a disbanded alliance via an instant communication line. Can't very well go ask their goverment for a background check should that be the case.
So it is standard VE practice to accept re-rolls with no confirmation in 4 minutes? That's pretty nifty.
 10.
Yes, experienced players can skip the academy at the discretion of certain senior people. (For example I didn't have to go through it either.) So yeah I think he said to Impero 'Yo I'm Lennox, remember me, don't make me do the academy' and Impero agreed. I don't have the details of that though.
Right, but wouldn't that also mean that the application itself was falsified since it is clear to lots of people that Lennox carried baggage and grudges with him? Of course, if you are stating that Impero is incompetent in his decision making processes regarding members, then I will just quiet down.
 11.
Images were taken down due to hostmasks but if I remember correctly, one of them described why Impero waived the academy for Lennox.
Right, because he was "an experienced former player". Which implies that Impero was aware of who Lennox was before he applied to VE.
 12.
This isn't really a set-up. It's a confirmatory sting because we (and Xiph, who is a close friend of Impero/VE) weren't completely convinced that the spying was real, after Lennox had first come to us with the logs. So yes, we made sure it actually was Dajobo and that he actually was doing what the logs said he was doing. The critical difference is that we were only confirming the spying that we'd already been tipped off about. It's quite hard to get concrete evidence of spying without the cooperation of a spy-turned-informant and a sting operation, actually. But there would never have been any sting or any war if Dajobo hadn't got involved in the first place.
It may have been addressed elsewhere, and if so I apologize, but has an explanation for Impero waiving Lennox's entrance into VE on the 12th, prior to the conversations with Dajabo, been provided? He applied and was passed through the academy in 4 minutes. Just curious.
 13.
Lennox is a rare breed of clown-weasel.
His name is meg.
 14.
Cool story bro. I fabricated a war 3 years ago.
That's bushleague.
 15. This man is correct. And grossly overweight. This is the entire point of the second Moldavi Doctrine.
 16.
My vote for names are: Pandora's Box: Kowalski Polar and Allies: Not Kowalski
Does it count as a Godwin if I do it? Just wondering. sings: "Autumn for Poland..."
 17. Finally, we are getting to the good parts.
 18.
My labeling of Pacifica in the past as being in opposition is merely because you were. In the three scenarios that I listed it was very much an "us" vs. "them" mentality with sides clearly defined by polar forces (be that around LUE, GOONS, or Legion). I believe your response does hold true for Karma though, where it was very much defined as a conflict against Pacifica, which at the time was seen as far more than an alliance. Also, I find it humorous if your post was implying that MK was one of the "tag along alliances" that beat Pacifica.
No, I believe they fall into the "we are not as bad as them...meow" category in this instance. But, surely you aren't claiming that MK had anything singly to do with NPO's defeat though, considering that MK would never had stood a chance going it alone? It was completely a collective effort on the part of the instigators. But even in the scenarios you mentioned, the NPO simply existed as the best of the best. LUE, GOONS, Legion, etc etc etc all wanted what NPO had and thought the best way of getting it was to achieve some sort of moralistic crusader alliance that would push for such an end. Ultimately the culmination of those efforts found Karma, which was nothing more than pent up frustration stemming from the wars you mentioned. From the first moments of its inception in this world the NPO has been the object of envy and rage from some corners. Those emotive states carried over for years in some instances, over generations of players.
 19.
Regardless of what you are smiling about I will say that Pacifica is one of the few alliances still sitting in opposition that I can say did work and saw success from doing so.
Agreed. I think the paradigm difference is that you, and most others, label Pacifica as a form of "opposition" while the NPO itself simply is. It isn't defined by what it is opposed to, unlike many of the alliances today, which can only label and define themselves as either "not as bad as" Pacifica or "one of the tag-a-long alliances" that helped to beat Pacifica. Most of the Cyberverse, the organized OWF active parts of it anyway, define themselves, indirectly or directly, on how they relate to the NPO, for good or ill. This, in and of itself, sets Pacifica apart from the rest.
 20.
Exactly. Also, to point two, thats some !@#$%^&*. You lost two wars in a row because of bad leadership? Yeah, welcome to GW2 and GW3 for a lot of us who took down NPO. You can make that THREE in a row if you were part of UJW. Both times we had poor war planning and we got slammed. Yeah, it felt like !@#$. But we kept fighting, through reparations and all, and came back and did something. So many players on the opposing side have played this game with ease without the necessity to work towards forming coalitions and an opposition. We worked our way to where we are. Its about time you start doing the same.
This made me smile.
 21.
If you are looking for the most insane WTF and OMG moment in the history of CN then look no further than... http://z15.invisionfree.com/Cyber_Nations/index.php?showtopic=61335&st=0 It all starts off so sad and stuff until page 3 when mpol dropped the most insane and head exploding bombshell in the history of CN, then things went absolutely nuts.
It depends on your settings. It is page 6 for me. But yes, the "go suck on a shotgun" comment was one of "those" moments. EDIT: And the screenshot is still active. That's great.
 22.
Who's horn are you tooting here?
I'm not sure what you mean. But, I do have an ego the size of a planet.
