"Regnum Invictorum"

Is one of the worst examples of ~internet intellectualism~ I have ever seen.

What's worse though is knowing that a substantial percentage of the players of this game might conceivably actually like Invicta better for it. "Ooh they have a Latin name they're so smart and intelligent (just like me heh :awesome: :awesome:)" --you, probably.

This has got me thinking about the other various pathetic grasps at achieving SERIOUS POLITICAL THOUGHT FOR SERIOUS PEOPLE... they're all bad. Each and every one of them. Dressing your posts up with the most convoluted sentence structures and the most advanced words doesn't make you look smart, it makes you look ridiculous. This goes especially for the 99% of the players of this game who don't actually know how to use them, but even the 1% that do still end up coming off as massive bowtie-twirlers.

Stop it, and stop using those dumb hurfisms like "Revanchism" that are TOTALLY AS IF CN WAS JUST LIKE REAL LIFE IN THAT GAME EVENTS AND PERSONALITIES HAVE TOTALLY INSANELY SMART WORDS MADE FOR THEM MAAAAAAAN.

I am not criticising what you think I am criticising.

How do you know what I'm thinking?

Besides, if the words you wrote at the top are saying what they said about what you are criticizing, then I think I do know what you are criticizing. Unless you were being satirical, at which point I'd have to commend you on your usage of some very fine irony.

Regardless, I was just making a statement, too. I hate intellectuals.

I'm not interested in going after smart people, I'm interested in going after pretentious people. There are plenty of "intellectuals" who don't try and dress up their posts to make every sentence a significant philosphical thought of depth and philosophy.

lol, half the time its the people in your alliance or your CnG partners.

you are a quite sad person when you fail to realize ours is just humor, whereas a name like this is entirely serious.

I agree. I should've written psudo-intellectuals. Some of the smartest people I've ever met (with a couple of exceptions) have been pretty humble. I think it's related. You'll see another form of that pretentiousness if you try to look up a technical concept on the wikipedia, and the authors either refuse or are incapable of translating tech jargon and nuance into something the average reader can understand, thus defeating the point of having an entry at all. Many people hide behind intellectualism as a way to compensate for not having any true depth of understanding or character.
