Announcement from the Jamahiriya and the Union of Communist Republics
While war rages across the Cyberverse, those of us who find ourselves at peace are generally content to sit back and watch the drama unfold. We here at the Jamahiriya and the Union of Communist Republics are not so easily satisfied, however, so we've opted to formalize our friendship by means of the following Optional Defense Pact. Let the revolution begin!
Revolution in the Maghreb Treaty

Preamble
In the spirit of goodwill and friendship that exists between their alliances, the Jamahiriya and the Union of Communist Republics, herein collectively referenced as the signatories, hereby enter into this treaty of allegiance and agree to be bound by its terms. The signatories further agree that it is to the benefit of both alliances to act as is necessary to maintain and promote this relationship.

Article I
Neither signatory, by entering into this treaty, forfeits or otherwise relinquishes its sovereignty as an alliance, and the signatories pledge to mutually recognize the sovereignty of each other in perpetuity.

Article II
The signatories hereby pledge to maintain respectful relations between one another, and bind their members to treat members of each signatory with the respect and goodwill properly shown to each signatory's own members. The signatories forever relinquish war or other acts of aggression, including espionage and economic sanction, as methods of resolving disputes which may arise between them. Should any breach of this Article occur, the offending party shall act to immediately resolve the situation in a manner acceptable to both signatories.

Article III
Should either signatory come to be in possession of information indicating threat of any magnitude to the other signatory, they are obliged to share it with the other signatory at the earliest time possible. Both signatories are similarly bound to inform each other should they perceive their own imminent involvement in warfare, either defensively or offensively.

Article IV
The signatories agree that their relationship is conducive to the free exchange of economic resources between their alliances.

Article V
Should either signatory find itself in a state of defensive warfare, they may request political, economic, or political assistance from the other signatory, who is encouraged, though not obliged, to provide such assistance as is requested and is within their ability to provide. Refusal to provide such assistance cannot be cited as grounds for termination of this treaty.

Article VI
Ninety days from its ratification, the signatories agree to reevaluate this treaty to determine if conditions are amicable to its upgrade. Nothing shall prevent the signatories from reevaluating the treaty prior to this time.

Article VII
The signatories agree that excluding gross violation of its articles, this treaty shall not be terminated prior to its reevaluation ninety days following its ratification. Following said period, or in the case of any of its articles, Article V excluded, being grossly breached, either signatory may terminate the treaty once ninety-six hours' notice has been privately conveyed to the other signatory.

you have no knowledge about communists, you uneducated fool

No no, I'd say anyone who seeks a material solution to capital based on the interests of the labouring class in the form of communism should detest religion as not only a potential useful tool of coercion by illegitimate authority, most notably the ruling class through their state, but also exists as a baseless relic from our more primitive times and serves as a pedestool for moralists. This doesn't mean union cannot be made between these two different forces (even though JAMA profess to be Islamic socialist and I suspect this tie is more to do with that aspect of JAMA's politics) nor does it mean socialists should smash religious groups purely for that reason.

Hope both groups benefit from this friendship.

Just to correct this, we are not an Islamosocialist alliance as the first Jamahiriya was; we have no official political leanings.

Pala, as with every political issue, the stance of leftists to religion cannot be the same in every single case without understanding other factors.

So while I would agree with you that religion is "a potential useful tool of coercion for illegitimate authority" and that religion plays a mystifying and obscuratory role to the understanding of society, that is only potentially. There have existed religious movements which have united the oppressed against their oppressors, even inspiring revolts against class society in its totality way back in the medieval age. And obviously today to line up with the so-called secularists who want to persecute women who wear the Hijab or burqa is to support reactionary Islamophobia.

So while I obviously agree that communists should be clear about analysing society in a materialist way that rejects obscurantism, I think it's pretty incorrect to say that we should "hate" religion in all circumstances.

Perfect title comrade Micheal. I am glad to see that those who have posted are favoring our ODP. Even though both the UCR and Jama are small alliances we do our part to shape CN politics and are proud of our contribution. I am proud to have helped bring this treaty forward with incredible help from Malikhera, now its time for the UCR and Jama to move forward and build upon not only our relations but our alliances.
