Neuromancer7
I'm sad to see this go. It may not have been the best way to accomplish it's own aims... But it's Spirit was in the right place. And that counts for a lot. I must confess I greatly anticipate whatever next comes forth from my good friends at the Order. Edit: Added a may not that was missing due to massive lack of sleep in the author. Edited April 22, 2009 by Neuromancer7
OverCaffeinated
Wow, even OBR is itching to fight. Without neutrals to take up the top spots as other alliances get beat down, there may not ever be a reason for war to end. Can the GPA make a comeback? Flonker
The Writ de Credo was written is such a way that it it enslaved it's signatories and removed the right of self-defense if the OBR ever attacked them, whether justified or just out of boredom. They were called out on this and so they are backpedaling. Doubt this was something done by the general membership, but this is what happens when your alliance is lead by a lawyer. Well that explains why I had a helluva time understanding the thing in the first place. Good thing OBR supplied us with the Cliff notes... On the other tentacle, I'm sad to see this go. It was an interesting and honorable document we were proud to have signed. On the gripping tentacle, I doubt if OBR would have first-struck anybody...
danizduhman
I never thought I'd see the day the Writ was canceled. Recently many things have been happening I never thought I'd see. Mpol back, GOONS return, Writ De Credo gotten rid of, what could be next? I find this week quite interesting.
ThatFALGuy
Have to agree, 110% unexpected but OBR are far from fools. I am positive some seriously heavy thinking went into this decision and all with the best of intentions. o/ Our friends at OBR \o

Haflinger
OBR was never neutral, just resting. Also, to anyone who may think to take advantage of OBR's exposed nature, I highly recommend not. There are some of us who consider them extremely close friends who would take it very offensively if you were to attack them or Blackwater. Agreed. On both sides of the war. Shigh707
The OBR stopped being neutral when they split from the GC. This^^^^ Good. I never did like that Writ de Credo thing. I don't believe in signing anything I can't read. And yea, makes sense to me mate
Lord GVChamp
They held a MDP with my former alliance, the Greenland Republic that was canceled in June/July of last year. Awwww, the epicness of this went down slightly Still pretty epic, though, and not expected. Good luck OBR
greatmagnus
OBR was never neutral, just resting. Also, to anyone who may think to take advantage of OBR's exposed nature, I highly recommend not. That pretty much sums it up. They might not be in a massive bloc, but they have friends in big places.
Epik High
I think this has more to do with the legalese of the Writ and the issues people raised with them rather than having anything to do with picking a side.
thedestro
I've always been waiting for The Order to do something like this.
Mongol Federation
That pretty much sums it up. They might not be in a massive bloc, but they have friends in big places. Indeed. Taking on the OBR is as suicidal as taking on their grey brothers, the GC. Indi =/= friendless.

Great Lord Moth
Why anyone would want to attack an entity of such colossal average strength that has no political ambitions is beyond me. It's not like they needed the Writ, anyway. <OOC corner>I'm impressed, guys. A whopping 31 posts before anyone mentioned "honor" in this latest OBR topic. >.> <.<</>
Craven
It is an honor to serve the Order of The Black Rose and though unexpected I support this announcement. Edited April 21, 2009 by Craven

No one would have ever held themselves to terms of which they were not aware. Just because alliances would have violated the treaty in the name of self-preservation doesn't make such action a non-violation of the treaty. They didn't think they wrote it that way, the did write it that way. Whether or not alliances would have obeyed the treaty is irrelevant.
