Id also like to point out the drop line...some AAs now wouldnt even be in the race. Hell most of them wouldnt be.

Most of the AAs are the same, though a few have come and gone. The newest sanctioned AAs are obviously DT and Pax Corvus -- yay, more black team AAs! Lol. Some lesser recent entrants being RnR, Umbrella, and WTF, I think. Correct me if I'm wrong. I have suffered a few bouts of inactivity since 2007 and may be somewhat misinformed. 

 

Look how many AAs has 200+ members back in 2010. And several over 400. Wow.

How are ties handled in the knockout stage?

 

How does it affect the start of the next round?

 

They'll go to extra time and then penalties, just like in qualifying.

 

There's an extra day in between each round to allow for extra time if needed.  Alliances who don't need extra time will use the average of that break day and the first day.

Knockout Stage - Round of 16
All matches at kickoff

 
Matches will proceed over four days as they did in the group stage.  In the event of a tie, we'll enter an additional day of extra time (with goals still cumulative from day one) with penalties at the end if needed.  For each day of positive score gain, you'll get one goal in penalties.  If still tied, the winner will be largest cumulative gain, then smallest score.  This is the same format as in qualifying.
 
Allowances for extra time have been worked into the schedule.  To limit shenanigans, alliances not needing extra time will have their "rest day" score averaged with their first day's score for the next round.

it would be interesting to see the numbers put into percent of total players. were down to 10,019 10,004 total nations. in 2010 when those stats are from we had i think between 20 and 30 thousand, maybe more.

And I take pride in NSF because the people who are in it weren't complete assholes to me and actually sat me down and taugh me about the game. Now you might say "oh yeah whatevs NSF is shit and didnt teach you anything of value" even if that was true, which its not, its sad to see that you get your kicks from calling NSF shit. Really, I mean, you could be doing something productive for MI6, like I dunno, recruiting, setting up trade circles, and what not, but it seems that belittling me and NSF is very important to you.
